Job description

Team Leader

Location: Northampton

Salary: £30,775 - £33,205 per annum

You have significant experience of individual client work with adults/young people in an addictions or social care setting. You also have knowledge of drugs, alcohol, and health-related issues, and the interventions that are effective in supporting behaviour change. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Aquarius as a Team Leader.

Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we’re looking for someone like you to join our NGAGE Young People’s Service in Northampton. NGAGE is an early intervention drug and alcohol service for young people aged 10-18 and we provide information, education, advice, and support to young people concerning drug and alcohol use.

As Team Leader you will ensure good clinical practice and ensure the service operates within policy and statutory requirements. You will also provide induction, supervision, coaching and work and development reviews. In addition, you will:

  • Deal with performance management issues
  • Assist in the recruitment of team members and volunteers
  • Develop and maintain effective liaison with commissioners and service providers
  • Manage the budget for the service, ensuring appropriate recording and data reporting
  • Actively promote Aquarius’ values and mission.

Ideally you have:

  • A professional qualification in health/social care, youth and community work, (e.g. NVQ Level 4 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).
  • Proven experience of working in the substance misuse field and a commitment to complete further training as required
  • Knowledge of drugs, alcohol and health-related issues, including interventions that are effective in supporting behaviour change
  • Experience of staff supervision/management/training and demonstrable skills in partnership working (including voluntary and statutory services)
  • A good understanding of safeguarding
  • Good IT skills and a flexible can-do, person-centred approach.

In return, you can expect some great benefits, including 32 days' holiday, contributory pension scheme, employee assistance programme and exceptional professional development and training opportunities.

Due to the nature of the role a driving licence and access to a car is essential.
