Our partner, an established UK charity with a focus on fighting poverty by transforming access to health care services in lower- and middle-income countries in Africa seeks a highly dynamic individual for a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of an extension. Finance
•Maintain a strong control environment, ensuring accounting records are complete and accurate.
Financial accounting
•Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with SORP 2015.
•Prepare for the annual external audit and host auditors ensuring the audit process runs smoothly. This includes supporting  country offices in hosting their respective audits.
•Ensure annual statutory accounts are finalised and submitted to Companies House and the Charity Commission by the appropriate deadlines.

Management accounting
•Coordinate the month-end process with the Finance Officer (UK) and Programme Finance Lead, and review transaction postings.

The Finance Officer is part of the Organisational Support and Development (OSD) team at the Tax Justice Network, which is led by the Director of OSD, and the role reports to the Head of Finance and Reporting. The OSD team leads and delivers on a range of operational services from finance management, risk management, project management, event management, human resources, IT systems and other enabling functions. The team is also responsible for fundraising for the organization. About Chapter One

Chapter One is a small but growing charity, working to ensure that every child has 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports about 3,500 children a year. It pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 180 local and national businesses. The volunteer task is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

Forest Peoples Programme is seeking two Programme Assistants to provide vital administrative, logistical, and project support, helping Indigenous Peoples and forest communities secure their rights and protect their forests. 

About Forest Peoples Programme

Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) is an international NGO that has been working with Indigenous Peoples and forest peoples for 35 years since it was established in 1990. As of 2026, we work in 18 countries across South and Central America, Africa and Southeast Asia, with over 50 partners based in the tropical forest belt. We work directly and in solidarity with communities and peoples, supporting them to secure their rights to their traditional lands, territories, and resources, protect their forests and ways of life, and choose their own futures.

Role summary

The work of Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) is organised via three core programmes, each of which is led by a Programme Coordinator. The Programme Assistant position provides a broad support function for the Programme Coordinator, principally in relation to administrative and logistical support, as well as supporting programme and project monitoring and management (including some financial management). In this exciting and varied role, you will manage the HR lifecycle, provide HR advice, develop and improve policies and processes, and manage payroll and benefits. You will report to the CEO and work with the with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to deliver a high quality HR & Payroll service. You will demonstrate and promote the culture and values of FoodCycle, incorporating equity, diversity, inclusion and environmental sustainability.​

This is a key role in which you will enjoy using your expertise to interact with all FoodCycle staff (~40 headcount) and lead initiatives like the annual staff survey, performance reviews and provide quarterly HR updates to the Board. You will be responsible for all HR operations and people activities of FoodCycle, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, PAYE, pensions, employee engagement surveys and performance management and training oversight.​

You will be comfortable managing a busy and varied workload, able to connect with employees and stakeholders while working remotely, and bring your knowledge of HR best practice & employment law to maintain and improve our positive working culture. Our after-school community meals will be spaces where families of school children can gather at the end of the school day to enjoy a free nutritious meal and be among the school community. With the support of our National Schools & Franchise Manager you will manage local relationships with schools, community partners, supermarkets and volunteer recruitment channels to enable our meals to happen each week.​

You will have experience of working with primary school-aged children or families, in school or other setting. You will also have experience in hospitality or food businesses. You will use your excellent communication skills to manage volunteers and ensure the safe and effective running of our meals and positive relationships with school families.​
