The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a District Property Secretary. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. They will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property and will work in collaboration with the churches and circuits within the District, providing oversight of the properties owned by the District. The Bone Cancer Research Trust launched a dedicated Support Service in 2019, in response to feedback from our community. Over the last 5 years, the Service has seen a significant increase in reach. We are now at a crucial stage, after conducting a comprehensive review of our Support Service and are now looking for an exceptional, dedicated and enthusiastic leader to drive the implementation of findings and recommendations, ensuring everyone affected by primary bone cancer become aware of, access and trust our portfolio of services and information resources.

Job Title: Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker

Location: In service based in Catford across two sites (SE6 2QB & SE6 3BE)

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours a week over a rota which can include 12.5 hour shifts (including breaks) Monday to Sunday (Including weekends, and bank holidays) 08:00 - 20:30. We also have a night rota between 20:00 - 08:30 which is not a part of this role but desirable if there is flexibility around working patterns

About the role

We are looking for a Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker to work within our Integrated Community Rehabilitation Service which provides rehabilitation support to residents who face challenges with their mental health, and have been discharged from acute mental health wards to start structured rehabilitation support for 9 months in the community. You will work directly with our residents to support them to overcome their personal barriers and challenges to achieve positive outcomes. You will do this through one to one support sessions, group sessions and activities, and general support with their daily living. This is not a personal care role, but is a role to rehabilitate and empower our residents towards independent living.

The role further includes:

• Supporting residents with taking their correct medication
• Carrying out various health and safety tasks, including reporting repairs and maintenance
• Keeping support plans up to date using our online portal
• Plan and deliver various activities which includes within the service and outside in the local community. This can include days out to museums and other areas of interest by our residents
• Carrying out housing management support including welfare benefits support

The service works closely with a dedicated clinical team provided by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM). The clinical team includes an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, and Psychiatrist, complimented by a Substance Misuse/Dual Diagnosis worker in our internal team. The Rehabilitation service works with adults aged between 18 and 65, from Croydon, Lewisham, and Southwark. You will be part of a service which offers 24 hour support across 2 buildings in Catford.

BACKGROUND

This is an exciting opportunity to join the legal aid casework team at Asylum Aid. You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering the billing of our legal aid work (including controlled work, certificated work and inter partes bills), which is vital to ensure the financial sustainability of our work. Asylum Aid holds legal aid contracts in the immigration & asylum and public law categories.

For thirty-five years, Asylum Aid has been providing legal representation to some of the most vulnerable people seeking asylum. We have built an expert service, delivering vital and life-saving services in some of the most complex legal cases, with a particular speciality working with unaccompanied children, survivors of trafficking, torture or other forms of human cruelty, and stateless people. Our vision is that all those in need of protection from persecution and other forms of human cruelty in the UK can obtain it, and are treated fairly and with dignity.

Since August 2020, Asylum Aid has been part of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group. Asylum Aid operates as an independent charity, led by its own Executive Director within the group structure, and is ambitious about growing its impact and reach in the future to ensure protection from persecution for those who need it. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role would suit a person with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills and numeracy. The ideal candidate will have already embarked on or be looking to develop a career providing excellent legal aid billing support and coordination essential to the financial sustainability of legal aid practice, whether within the charity sector or private practice. You will have a strong commitment to the values of Asylum Aid and an understanding of the importance of sound legal aid billing practices to our continued ability to provide our expert service to our clients. Prior experience is not essential as full training will be given and peer support is available.

The focus of the role of billing coordinator is to ensure the efficient and robust delivery of costing and billing of legal aid files conducted under Legal Aid Agency (LAA) contract (Legal Help / Controlled Legal Representation and certificated work) as well as liaising with external costs lawyers to oversee the preparation of Inter Partes bills and negotiations with the paying party where we have obtained an order for our costs in judicial review proceedings.  This includes reconciliation of Legal Aid Agency payments received and made, and to provide essential coordination within the organisation to support lawyers in ensuring files are billed promptly and accurately, and costs are maximized. The billing coordinator will work with the Director of Legal Casework to develop and maintain an effective tracking system to ensure timely progression from case closure to billing.

This role will work closely with the Legal Team of Asylum Aid and the Finance team of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group. You will also have access to the London Legal Support Trust Centres of Excellence legal aid billing peer support group and peer-to-peer support.

As this is a new role, there will be clear targets set as to the additional legal aid income brought in as a result of the extra capacity it will bring and a review will be undertaken after 12 months as to whether it is having the desired impact on our legal aid income.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Positive Engagement Worker to join our team based in Croydon which aims to deliver residential based support to people referred by South London and Maudsley Trust (SLaM). Our residents are referred to gain support with their Mental Health and other multiple complex needs. Our aim is to support them and help them prepare for independent living, whilst managing their individual risks. You will be at the heart of providing person centred support in a tailored way, to help our residents improve their quality of life, and achieve their personal goals through providing flexible support. 

In this role, you will be at the centre of researching, sourcing, and providing various opportunities for our residents. This can include partnering with external employers for employment opportunities, liaising with colleges for courses and upskilling opportunities, or community based projects which residents can get involved in. The role is dynamic and you can put your own ideas forward to bring new ideas to the team to help support our residents have access to wider resources. You will work closely with the rest of the care and support teams to enhance the opportunities available to our residents.

About the Role

• Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accommodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage.  
• The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
• In this role, you will provide support to all the women, including running co-designed activities and accompanying women to appointments.
• You will work closely with Specialist Support Workers who manage individual resident support and safety plans.
• You will model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, will be skilled at building trust and you will be a great team player.
• You will undertake 8-hour shifts on a 7-day rota, covering the hours 07:45 am to 20:15 pm. Please be aware that the building has several floors and no lifts.

Interim Head of Digital

Contract: One-year fixed term maternity cover contract

Salary: £68,221 London hybrid salary (candidates required to spend a minimum of 40% of each month in London HQ) or £60,912 for home based or less than 40% time in London

Location: Ideally hybrid between home and London office with a minimum of two days per week (or 40% of month) in the office, with less time in office also considered

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week with flexible working options fully supported, including condensed hours and job sharing

Core responsibilities within your role will be to:

• Lead on the implementation of the new digital strategy, to support the delivery of mission priorities across the organisation
• Influence senior leaders to both develop in their confidence digital and champion digital transformation across the territory
• Lead and manage the Digital team ensuring that: objectives are successfully delivered, high performing team culture is embedded, and that employee wellbeing is at the top of your agenda
• Be responsible for development and oversight of the AI roadmap for the organisation, including an AI policy and implementation of AI in an ethical framework across the territory, in collaboration with IT and other business partners
• Work within the culture of The Salvation Army as a church and as a charity in both a responsive and opportunistic way, successfully working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, responding to the external environment and offering digital advice and solutions
• Be the strategic lead on the effective selection and use of digital channels for the organisation, orchestrating execution of campaigns and communications through digital to meet objectives
• Ensure product ownership and governance of key digital platforms to ensure continuous development, great UX and high availability by overseeing agencies, suppliers, platform providers to ensure objectives are met efficiently
• Collaborate with fundraising to enable them to meet targets through digital channels to deliver income growth and to meet digital specific income targets
• Be responsible for managing the Digital budget, allocating cost centres across digital activity including setting, monitoring, forecasting, and providing financial reporting as required
• Lead a culture of systematic learning and improvement; drive the use of digital analysis tools, data, results and the deployment of this in all aspects of digital development and lead on overarching programme to upskill the organisation on digital and AI, including bringing senior leaders on board
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on current digital and charity (digital) trends, technology and best practice through networking, attending conferences and horizon scanning
• Lead and be accountable for ensuring that all relevant digital regulatory, ethical and compliance requirements are met

• Extensive and demonstrable experience of leading and managing digital strategy at a senior level within a complex organisation
• Experience of developing and leading a digital team and the successful implementation of major digital change, transformation and AI
• A demonstrable passion for digital, with subject matter expertise and up to date knowledge of the charity digital market, current trends in the digital space and best practice platforms and techniques across digital communications, fundraising, AI, marketing and infrastructure

• Proven experience of leading multiple cross functional workstreams with a typical 5-10-year time horizon, with proven project management skills and the ability to maximise the impact of available resources

• Proven experience of leveraging digital agencies or in house teams for digital channels such as website, email systems, digital advertising

About the role:

This role is based In Pontypool Police Station however we have currently adopted a hybrid model. As a Triage and Early Interventions Officer you will:

• Act as the first point of contact for clients referred in to the service, ensuring that comprehensive impact and risks assessments are completed and a tailored response to each client's needs is provided.
• Carry a caseload of clients who require more immediate and short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs either internally or externally. Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
• Ensure that support plans are developed with clients where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
• Provide accurate and timely performance information for internal and external use.
• Work with the client and other statutory and voluntary agencies to address the identified needs.
• Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns including both child protection and vulnerable adult issues.
• Ensure that all clients are of aware of their rights under the Victim's Code of Practice and the Witness Charter.
• To work alongside a team of staff (and volunteers where applicable) to reflect the diverse community and the needs of the victims, including those with particular vulnerabilities, utilising national and local resources to deliver individual, bespoke services with respect, dignity and sensitivity.
• Comply and keep up to date with data protection legislation, confidentiality and organisational policies and procedures, as well as all legislation connected to your work.
• Work as part of a team to ensure that all outcomes and KPI measures are met relevant to the local contract.

You will need:

• To demonstrate a good understanding and use of the English language both verbally and in writing Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to undertake impact and risks assessments and identify appropriate support
• Experience of safeguarding issues and legislation relating to both child protection and vulnerable adults.
• The ability to manage a demanding workload and to meet a range of conflicting deadlines.
