Although we have recovered from the Covid 19 pandemic, the nation now faces the worst cost of living crisis since the 1950s, thanks to the Russian Ukraine war, and now the US Israel Iran one which have disrupted the global energy market. There is no denying that, in the UK, young people (YP) are being disproportionally affected. We are deeply concerned about the impact this crisis is having on the young people that we work with across the board.
The UK youth unemployment rate for 16-24-year-olds sits at a concerning 16.2%, an 11-year high. There are over 1 million young people not in education, employment or training (NEET). We know that high numbers of vacancies do not translate into opportunities for all young people, especially those from BAME background who already face discrimination in the labour market.
We are responding to this emerging issue, by working harder and smarter to support young people that we work with for whom the transition from formal education into employment is not automatic. We work to help this group have access to economic opportunities in these challenging times. We believe that our services bridge this gap and provide opportunities for young people to develop wider social, personal and self -management skills required for productive participation and integration into society. Job purpose: Provide a range of administration services to enable the Trust to operate its day-to-day activities, management and governance processes effectively.
Roles and responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the job are:
· Provide administrative support to the Programme Manager, Trustees and Youth Board
· Provide general administrative support across the Trust, including scheduling meetings, administering our Microsoft 365 system, helping to produce reports/ letters, managing emails, facilitating in-house communication, managing our records, research, and other general duties
· Assist implementation of the Trust’s charitable programmes e.g., by providing administration support to project teams and organising promotional activities.
· Manage enquiries to the Trust and respond to routine enquiries, ensuring that actions are followed up
· Proactively manage our website day-to-day and post to our social media, consulting where necessary. Produce leaflets, publicity and newsletters
· Support our organisation development plans by helping us research and implement any new policies, processes and best practice procedures required, and maintaining the database of evidence
· Suggest administrative improvements to support the smooth running of the charity and, when agreed, implement them
Key working relationships: The post holder will work with all the Trustees (but particularly the Trustee responsible for Communications), the Programmes Manager as well as the Trust’s finance service provider. The post holder will develop good working relationships with other stakeholders including our project delivery partners, members of the Youth Board and, in some cases, young people on or applying for our programmes.

What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager, you will lead the development and drafting of River Action’s overall policy strategy as well as leading on specific policy areas. You will play a leading role in shaping and advancing River Action’s political and policy influence, working closely with the Senior Management Team, Chief Executive and wider organisation to develop and execute an impactful policy and advocacy strategy.
River Action is the Co-Secretariat for the APPG on Water Pollution, offering our Policy and Advocacy Manager a unique opportunity to shape the policy direction for River Action and also to influence policy development across Parliament.
You will also work closely with our public affairs agency who manage our daily Westminster activities.

The Engagement Manager will play a critical role in helping River Action influence change by developing high-level relationships, building strategic partnerships and providing strategic leadership across River Action’s engagement programmes to advance our policy, legal and campaigning objectives.

What you’ll be doing
The Engagement Manager will lead River Action’s overall engagement strategy, providing strategic oversight of both stakeholder engagement and community engagement activity across the organisation.
Building and managing relationships with senior leaders across government, regulators, NGOs, businesses, financiers, academia and civil society, the postholder will identify opportunities to increase River Action’s influence, support policy and advocacy objectives, and help position the organisation as a leading voice on river protection and environmental reform.
The role will provide strategic direction and oversight to River Action’s community engagement work, including the River Rescue Kit, Community Toolkit and catchment-based campaigning activities, working closely with the Senior Engagement Coordinator who will lead day-to-day delivery, community support and programme implementation.

What you'll do:

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Communications has responsibility for Ubele’s internal and external communications and digital activities in support of our strategic aims as well as oversight of communications across special projects. Central to the Head of Communications’ role is responsibility for:
- Leading on delivery of Ubele’s Communications Strategy, public and internal communications with key audiences and stakeholders via various channels, especially Ubele’s website, email communications, social media and printed materials. With support where needed, leading the delivery of a small number of annual and special events, working alongside colleagues and partners.
- A crucial part of the role is working successfully with external partners, special projects comms teams, contractors and consultants to deliver on our communications objectives.
- Reporting to the COO and working closely with other senior leaders across departments to fulfil Ubele’s strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities/duties:
- Oversight of all external communications activity relating to the work of the organisation, including websites, email newsletters and social media.
- Oversight and management of the Creative Coordinator to effectively boost engagement and grow the organisation's social media channels.
- Guide and support the strategy that manages the creative outputs of the organisation across all projects and interests.
- Managing the organisation’s websites, ensuring content is correct and up to date, developing new webpages, functionalities and layouts as required, with support from an external website developer as needed.
- Working closely with the Hub leads and programme managers to publicise training opportunities, events, funding programmes, and wider Ubele activities across the organisation’s communication channels.
- Leading on cross-organisation conversations and convening cross-organisational groups to develop and coordinate a pipeline of content for blogs and case studies.
- Working with Hub Leads and our external PR support team (where relevant) to produce press releases including drafting quotes on behalf of the Leadership Team and coordinating the sign-off processes.

Brand and marketing
- Ensuring consistent use of Ubele’s brand across internal and external print and digital channels.
- Managing the design, print and distribution (as appropriate) of branded print and digital media, such as stationery, templates, invitations, leaflets and publications.
- Leading on brand guidelines, ensuring that they are adopted correctly across the organisation. Providing training and guidance to staff, teams and external partners on the correct use of the brand.
- Working with Hub leads and Creative Coordinator to manage sub-brands of Ubele projects and programmes and ensure that these are reflected in the organisation’s brand guidelines.
Planning & Delivery
- Deliver the communications strategy which will be set ahead of each financial year in line with the organisation’s wider strategic objectives by the organisation’s Management Board and Hub leads.
- Lead and advise on the key narratives, the best modes of communication and how to best reach our target audiences.
- Provide advice and guidance on communications to the Leadership Team, including on crisis communications and reputational risk management with support of PR freelancers.
- Setting and managing a communications calendar, supporting external-facing activities across Ubele’s work.
- Advise Ubele’s senior leaders on how activities including leadership training, provision of funding, social investment programmes, and various events might be publicised and communicated.
- Participate in internal strategy meetings, including reporting on Communications at the monthly staff team and leadership team meetings and, where required, at the Management Board meeting.
- Maintain strong working relationships with key sector contacts, especially Communications Leads at partner organisations.
Events
- Attend and/or coordinate Ubele’s presence at external events (sometimes out of normal office hours) relating to ongoing relationships (e.g. GLA or sector events)
- Organise and/or support the delivery of special events as required
- Support Programme Managers as required to deliver events (both in-person and digital) leveraging our pool of freelance events support where necessary.

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.

We are now looking for a Building Surveyor (Boundary Walls) to join us on a full-time, two-year fixed term contract, working 36 hours per week.

The Role
A rare opportunity to work for TRP and take ownership of approximately 17.5km of historic boundary walls across some of London’s most iconic parks, helping to protect and conserve these significant heritage assets within a unique and varied estate. As Boundary Wall Surveyor, you will lead the inspection, prioritisation and repair of listed and non-listed brick boundary walls across Richmond Park, Bushy Park, Greenwich Park, Brompton Cemetery and Primrose Hill. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will see projects through from initial survey and defect diagnosis to repair scope, delivery and completion.
This client side role offers the chance to shape a risk based inspection programme, manage repair works ranging from smaller remedial schemes to projects of up to approximately £150,000, and work closely with specialist heritage contractors, Conservation Architects and internal and external stakeholders to deliver practical, proportionate and well considered repair solutions. This role would suit an experienced, practical surveyor who enjoys working outdoors, is confident working independently and has a strong interest in traditional buildings, heritage brickwork and conservation repair. We are looking for someone with sound practical building surveying experience, particularly in brickwork, defect diagnosis and condition reporting, who can make clear repair recommendations, prepare practical scopes oversee conservation led works on site.
Formal qualifications or chartership are not essential. The right candidate will bring strong practical knowledge, relevant experience, sound judgement and the confidence to manage our boundary wall assets independently. This role may particularly appeal to someone looking for a more purposeful position within a charity, where their skills can directly contribute to the care, protection and long-term stewardship of a historic public estate.
