Job description

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Executive & Policy Assistant will provide detailed support across a range of functions while also working closely with the Policy and Public Affairs & Communications teams. The successful candidate will help to manage the Chief Executive’s diary and serve as a key contact and liaison with staff, funders and supporters. They will organise meetings and events, design presentations and undertake research, analysis and writing tasks for the Chief Executive. They will also play a key supporting role in the policy and public affairs work of the charity, including research and campaign, while also contributing to the charity’s funding strategy and goals.

This role will be ideally suited to someone who is versatile and flexible, who relishes operating within a dynamic, fast-paced environment that is values- and results-driven, and who has interest in the work and mission of the charity. The post-holder will be able to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations, and will have excellent administrative, organisational and writing skills. They will engage effectively with a wide range of different audiences, and maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

You will have the initiative to work independently on projects, and be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities in order to further the strategic aims of the charity. We are particularly interested in someone who can combine both administrative skills with an excellent ability to research, synthesise and write on policy and public affairs.

Family Rights Group’s vision is a society in which children can thrive in their families, and have loving relationships to turn to throughout life.

We are the leading specialist child welfare charity working to make that a reality. We are unique in bringing together legal and social work expertise, advice giving, and policy and campaigning, with the direct voice and insights of young people and families.

Founded in 1974, our work combines commitment to human rights and social justice with expertise in child welfare law, policy and practice.

We are seeking an excellent Executive & Policy Assistant to support the Chief Executive in a range of functions, while providing key contributions to the charity’s policy and project work.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience and skills across all aspects of the charity, while contributing to crucial policy, public affairs and other project work.
