The Faculty of Public Health is recruiting an Events Coordinator.

The Events Coordinator will play a key role in planning and delivering a wide range of Public Health related events, both in-person and online. This includes managing logistics such as venues, accommodation, catering, AV, and delegate communications, as well as coordinating webinars and virtual meetings.

Working closely with other staff, key stakeholders and local event hosts, this role ensures our events run smoothly while bringing the FPH Membership community together.

The UK Faculty of Public Health (FPH) is full of people who are passionate about improving people’s lives.

We’re a small charity with around 20 paid staff at any one time. Every so often new opportunities arise for people to join the staff team and help to make a difference, but we rely on the amazing support of our members to deliver much of our important work. The key duties of the Financial Controller will be as follows:

• Lead on the preparation of year-end financial reporting across the group
• Support the preparation of Depaul UK Trustees report and lead on the annual statutory audit process
• Develop and maintain a full set of financial policies and procedures which support the charity to deliver its aims
• Review and streamline controls and processes, including greater automation/ integration with other business systems
• Act as a finance subject matter expert, providing accounting advice to the team and wider organisation
• Prepare monthly management accounts for Depaul Housing Services
• Ensure the interests of the function are represented at internal committees
• Supervise the processing of all financial transactions and payroll, ensuring adequate documentary support, correct coding and appropriate authorisation
• Ensure month end timetable is adhered to, making sure that all bank and control account reconciliations have been carried out
• Ensure all income and expenditure is appropriately analysed and restricted and designated funds are correctly accounted for

The successful candidate will have:

• A full, recognised accounting qualification, or be in the final stages
• Ideally, a background working in the charity or social housing sectors, but this is by no means essential
• Demonstrable experience working in a strong internal control environment and driving effective month and/or year-end routines
• The ability to lead and develop a high performing team
• Excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to work within a cross-functional Leadership Team to continuously improve the service

About the Role

As an Independent Domestic & Sexual Violence Advocate you will provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse through on-going risk assessment, providing individual safety planning, trauma-informed support, guidance, information, and advocacy and enabling victim/survivors to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse and trauma they have experienced.

You will work within a hospital setting to support both patients and staff. You will make initial contact with victims of domestic and sexual abuse, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, or receive referrals from colleagues, in order to provide on-going support and case management. Support could include empowering the client to report to the police, accessing Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) services, and specialist support such as pretrial therapy and sexual violence counselling.

• Focus on high-risk cases with short to medium-term crisis intervention.
• Assist high-risk victims in accessing safety services.

We are looking for a proactive and compassionate Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to support male victims and survivors of domestic abuse. This role is full-time and is based at the Victim Support office in Old Street with some opportunity for home working.

About the Role

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to male victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, providing individual safety planning, trauma-informed support, guidance, information, and advocacy and enabling victim/survivors to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse and trauma they have experienced.

You may make initial contact with victims of crime, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, or receive referrals from colleagues, in order to provide on-going support and case management. You will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and multi agency partners when required. This role requires a specialist understanding of the barriers faced by male victims of domestic abuse and harmful practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess risks and needs using evidence-based checklists.
• Focus on high-risk cases with short to medium-term crisis intervention.
• Assist high-risk victims in accessing safety services.
• Deliver tailored support and information.
• Understand legal frameworks for protecting children and vulnerable adults.

• Empower clients to recognize domestic abuse dynamics.
• Participate in Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC).

About You:

Ideally, you will have knowledge about legal remedies for domestic abuse victims and have experience working with drug, alcohol, and mental health issues. An understanding of benefits, housing, and homelessness would also be beneficial.

You will need:

• Demonstrate proficiency in English, both verbally and in writing.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience (pro rata to 0.6 FTE £27,000 - £30,000)

Location: Hybrid – NASP have an office space at London's Southbank Centre which can be used by staff at any time. The role will be expected to work some of their regular time in the office with the remainder at home, depending on agreed hours. There may also be additional occasional travel required for staff days and other events.

Purpose of This Role:

This is a key role within NASP’s Operations team, leading on financial processes and procedures across the organisation. The Finance Manager will develop and maintain accurate and consistent records, provide regular reporting to support budgeting & forecasting, support on the annual audit, and ensure regulatory compliance & best practice across all of NASP’s work.

The role will work closely with the CEO, Director of Operations, and the Operations Coordinator (Finance & HR); as well as our outsourced accounting service provider (Carpenter Box). In addition, the role will support colleagues and teams more widely by costing funding bids for income generation, grant reporting, project accounting, and providing general financial expertise and guidance.

The Finance Manager will also support in preparing projections and updates for NASP’s Board of Trustees, working with the CEO, DoO, and Chair of the Finance, Audit, Investment & Risk Subcommittee (FAIRCo); this will include deputising for the Director of Operations on finance-related matters where appropriate.

Person Specification:
Experience & Knowledge:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CIPFA) or equivalent
• Knowledge of the VCFSE sector and/or Social Prescribing
• Experience of working within an accounts/finance role within a small to medium charity or the not-for-profit sector
• Up-to-date knowledge of the Charity Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)
• Good understanding of compliance and regulatory standards
• Experience supporting preparation of statutory accounts
• Experience supporting income generation (e.g. funding applications) (desirable)

Skills & Attributes:

• Affinity with NASP’s Values as defined in the NASP Strategic Plan
• High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and financial acumen
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small team
• Use of Microsoft suite (Teams, Excel), and accounting software such as Xero (or equivalent)

Responsibilities:
Financial Management

• Review monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate coding and reporting, working with budget holders and reporting any adjustments to Carpenter Box
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting, including scenario planning and going concern forecasts
• Manage accounts receivable/payable; follow up on unpaid invoices/outstanding payments, ensuring these are escalated as necessary
• Regular review of processes and procedures, ensuring robustness and efficiency at all levels
• Support Carpenter Box with quarterly VAT and Gift Aid returns as necessary
• Support Carpenter Box with year end annual account preparation
• Oversee provision of appropriate accounting and finance software (Xero, Soldo, ApprovalMax)
• Deputise for Director of Operations where necessary, e.g. payroll or providing updates to NASP’s Board of Trustees

Governance, Compliance, & Board Support

• Provide oversight for financial processes across NASP, ensuring compliance with both NASP’s policy suite and any regulatory requirements
• Support on process for annual audit and NASP’s annual report, providing relevant documents to auditors, answering queries, ensuring timelines are met
• Advising the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on any relevant updates to legislation or regulatory requirements
• Provide relevant reports and updates to NASP’s Board of Trustees and Finance Subcommittee, attending meetings where appropriate

Wider Organisational Support

• Work with Fundraising Consultant and colleagues as required to support on income generation, such as providing costings for bids; and mantaining accurate records on bids currently in progress and expected income
• Supporting on financial reporting for grants, such as providing I&E statements or other information as required
• Work with budget holders to set budgets, forecast, and monitor to ensure robust management and accurate reporting of overspend or underspend
• Provide general financial expertise & support to colleagues across the organisation
• Work closely with the Operations Coordinator to ensure our day-to-day processes are effective (e.g. expense claims, Soldo reconciliations, invoice & payment processing)

We’re looking for a Virtual Fundraising Senior Officer with event management skills to join our brilliant Mass Participation team.

Our ambitious virtual fundraising team recruits over 11,500 virtual fundraisers every year and this role will play a key role in delivering an unforgettable experience to these supporters. You'll be responsible for the delivery and growth of multiple virtual fundraising challenges, ensuring exceptional multichannel stewardship is delivered while driving ambitious participation and income targets. 

Your focus will be to project manager the larger virtual events in our portfolio while taking a data- driven approach to analyse performance, optimise processes and identify opportunities for innovation.
