What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll work directly with children, young people and families who have experienced trauma, delivering high-quality psychological interventions as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. You’ll balance clinical work with supervision, collaboration and contributing to service development, helping ensure our work is effective, evidence-based and centred on the needs of those we support.

• Deliver trauma-informed clinical interventions (1:1, family and group work)
• Carry out assessments and develop agreed treatment plans

• A recognised clinical qualification with current professional registration (e.g. HCPC, UKCP, NMC, ACP or BACP)
• Experience delivering therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families affected by trauma
• Training in evidence-based approaches such as TF-CBT, MBT-CYP or parenting interventions
• Experience working within multidisciplinary and multi-agency systems
• Confidence in assessment, formulation and outcome-focused practice
• Experience of supervising or supporting trainees (or readiness to do so)
• A clear commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of clinical work

Key details

Hours: Part-time (22 Hours per week) Including Wednesday. Usual working hours are Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00. 

Salary: £50,835 FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme 

Location: Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): Clinical staff need to offer clinical sessions onsite at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH) for 60% ofworking hours.

What you’ll be doing

If you were working with us, you would hold a varied caseload of clients with lived experience of mental health, autism and/or a learning disability. You would support clients to identify their employment goals, build confidence, prepare for work, and navigate any barriers they may face.

ISEAL is looking for a Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day finance function in a sustainability focused international not-for-profit organisation.

The Finance Manager, Financial Accounting is a hands-on role, leading a mostly remote team of 3 part-time staff, who collectively process all ISEAL’s transactions. They report to and work closely with the Finance & Operations Director, playing an important role to ensure that ISEAL’s finance system operates effectively.

The successful candidate will bring the technical know-how of a qualified accountant, the ability to support colleagues, an eye for detail and be happy managing a varied workload, both for themselves and the team.

ISEAL has recently implemented Sage Intacct accounting software and an initial priority for the role will be to support the team to improve their facility with and exploitation of the new system as well as supporting the roll-out of new functionality across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

Team management

• Oversee a team of 3 (2 direct reports) who process ISEAL’s day to day transactions, incl. purchase ledger, sales ledger and staff expenses /credit cards and payroll accounting
• Coordinate work planning, payment runs and monthly/quarterly accounting processes
• Work with the Finance Director to hold effective monthly Face to face team meetings.
• At times, provide back up and support to the different roles in the team
• Line manage, support and provide development and growth opportunities to direct reports

Financial accounting

• Responsible for and oversee the capture of all day-to-day transactions in ISEAL’s accounting records
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts on monthly/quarterly basis
• Oversee the payroll accounting, including 4 overseas payrolls
• Review VAT treatment of transactions and prepare VAT returns for review and submit it to HMRC
• Oversee timesheet processes and the calculation/allocation of staff costs into accounting system
• Consolidate ISEAL’s accounts and forecasts into management accounting-packs
• Support on preparation of the statutory accounts

Wider responsibilities

• Support the evolution of financial accounting procedures that are robust, effective and efficient, incl. acting as an administrator on Sage Intacct accounting software
• Engagement with the wider organisation on questions of accounting processes
• Experience, knowledge and attributes
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or equivalent level experience
• Solid professional work experience in overseeing a finance function, ideally in an international setting using multiple currencies

You have a strong understanding of recovery principles and varied recovery approaches, with experience supporting individuals with mental health and dual diagnosis needs. You are confident in crisis management and able to communicate with dignity and respect. You hold knowledge of relevant legislation, including CPA processes, and understand safeguarding responsibilities and how to respond appropriately.

You work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to support and induct new peer staff and volunteers. You can collaborate with statutory services such as the NHS and maintain awareness of health and safety requirements within frontline settings. You are flexible and able to work early, late, weekend, and bank holiday shifts to meet 24-hour service needs.

You also bring strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills, with the ability to produce clear written communication and use MS Word, Outlook, and online systems confidently.

You will be working Monday to Sunday on a shift rota starting from 08:00 until 23:00 at the latest

Responsibilities:

• Support the closure of grants, including the reconciliation of stand-alone grants
• Assist on final reports and supporting on return of grant funds
• Creating and scheduling new payment schedules
• Fielding team inbox queries
• Provide programmes teams with grant finance information
• Flagging errors to grant managers on payment schedules
• Support the data quality activities and maintain dashboards

 
Essential criteria:

• Strong numerical ability, high attention to detail and basic financial acumen
• Ideally, familiar with funding associated with grants programmes
• Experience working to strict deadlines
• Enjoys working with numbers and excel sheets
• Experience tracking expenses or budgets or similar

This is a great opportunity to join the UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) as Head of UK Policy and Advocacy and shape and lead the direction of our child rights work in the UK.

In this role you will oversee our domestic/UK-facing child rights policy work with an overarching focus on improving early childhood outcomes and reducing disparities between children across the UK. You’ll be joining at an exciting time for the team as it develops the next phase of our cross-organisational Early Moments Matter campaign and deepens its policy influencing work through the production of new evidence, briefings and engagement across the sector and government departments. You will play an active role in the Advocacy Leadership Team, ensuring our work is underpinned by robust strategies and analysis, and is undertaken in a way that reflects our organisational values.

To succeed in this role, you will have an in-depth understanding and experience of policy-making processes and influencing strategies in the UK. You will have an excellent understanding of the policy context of child rights in the UK, and be able to translate that knowledge and expertise into support for team members to deliver ambitious change for children. You will be passionate about centering lived experience, and be able to lead the team in strengthening engagement of rightsholders in the development and delivery of our policy work.
