Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the accounting and reporting of a significant investment portfolio, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant outputs

• Partner with the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance to enhance management reporting through a newly implemented Microsoft Business Central system
• Work with custodians, investment managers and auditors to refine and automate financial processes

About You

• You’re a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

About this role

Over the past two years, SPANA has made significant investments in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), culminating in the establishment of an independent MEAL team within the Global Programmes Directorate. Led by the Head of Data Insight and MEAL, this team works collaboratively with the Programme Quality and Development, Animal Health and Welfare and Education, Community Education and SBCC teams to strengthen evidence-based programming and impact measurement.

The MEAL Manager plays a central role in advancing SPANA’s MEAL systems, providing technical expertise and support to SPANA UK staff and over 20 global partners. The role contributes to the design and implementation of MEAL frameworks that effectively measure the organisation’s impact on the health and welfare of working animals. In addition, the MEAL Manager promotes innovative approaches to data use, supports evidence-based learning and line manages the Data Insights Officer.

Contract, location and salary

This is a full-time (34.5 hours per week), permanent role. This role is UK based, hybrid working with regular attendance (approximately 1-2 days per month, or more if preferred) in our London office. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK currently and for the duration of the contract. 

The salary for this position is c.£45,000 per annum, subject to skills and experience. SPANA is pleased to offer a range of benefits including a generous company pension scheme with 10% employer contribution if the employee contributes a minimum 5%, and health care cash plan.

About Us 

We are a small staff team of 7 people mostly working part time. All of us are home based and work flexibly. Annual leave  entitlement is 27 days plus Statutory Holidays pro rata.

There are different lead roles in the team but being small we support each other and work with members and partners to achieve as much as can together. 

Learning Disability England is a membership organisation that brings together people with learning disabilities, family members and people in paid roles to make a difference together.

Being led by what is important to our members is central to how we work. Working closely with the Representative Body and other team members to support being member led is an important part of all our jobs.

Buglife is the only organisation in Europe dedicated to the conservation of all invertebrates. As they enter a pivotal phase of growth and innovation, Buglife is seeking a Director of Transformation to co-lead their organisation into a new era of impact, influence, and operational excellence.

About the Role

In a dual-leadership model alongside the Director of Conservation, you will define and deliver a Transformational Change Programme that amplifies Buglife’s mission: securing a thriving future for invertebrates as part of nature’s recovery.

You’ll lead strategic initiatives across systems, people, and processes, shaping a roadmap for sustainable growth and innovation. From organisational design to digital transformation, you’ll be the catalyst for change — building capability, cohesion, and resilience across Buglife.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and strategic direction, assessing internal operations and external opportunities.
• Develop and deliver a transformation roadmap with measurable impact.
• Inspire and manage cross-functional teams including Finance, HR, Communications, Fundraising and Engagement.
• Champion inclusive leadership, emotional intelligence, and organisational cohesion.
• Shape Buglife’s global growth strategy and explore new funding models.
• Overhaul systems and processes to create a more agile, integrated organisation.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven expertise in transformational leadership, business model innovation, and strategic planning.
• Experience engaging Boards and senior stakeholders with clarity and influence.
• Deep understanding of change management methodologies and programme delivery.
• Commercial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong emotional intelligence and collaborative leadership style.

Desirable: Experience in conservation, environmental or science-led sectors; familiarity with digital transformation and international experience or perspective on scaling impact globally.
