Exciting Opportunity: new role of 0.6 FTE Muslim Chaplain within Heathrow Multi Faith Chaplaincy

Heathrow Multi Faith Chaplaincy Charity (CIO) is based at Heathrow Airport and is dedicated to supporting everyone’s life journey.

We are looking for an experienced Campaigns Manager, who is passionate about driving change and has knowledge and experience of Communications and managing staff. This is a temporary post, whilst we go out to recruitment for a permanent post, during the busiest time of the year for White Ribbon.

The post holder will be leading our national flagship campaign – White Ribbon Day (25th November) and the following 16 days of activism, ensuring existing plans are fully developed and delivered and the campaign meets its goals and targets. 

This will involve managing and working with the Campaigns Officer, the Communications Officer and a freelance and part time Project Officer (for the Portraits Project) and additional freelance and part time Communications Officer (for social media).  You will need to manage our outsourcing contract with PIC PR (marketing agency) in an effective manner, to achieve our campaign goals.

Close working with the Business Development Manager and the Accreditation and Training team will be required. 

You will be responsible for monitoring, evaluation and reporting to the Board of Trustees on the success of the campaign.

You will need to manage the project budget, reporting to our Finance Manager, and ensure that our campaign sponsors are happy.

About the role

Are you passionate about providing safe and stable accommodation to women and children escaping domestic abuse? Wanting to help make a difference and provide specialist support to them to gain greater independence? This might be the role for you.

As a Children and Family worker, you will be based within our Women's Refuge service, supporting women and children up to the age of 15 who have escaped domestic abuse. You will deliver trauma-informed, child and family centred support to promote safety and wellbeing, working collaboratively with mothers to strengthen the parent-child relationship during a time of crisis. You will support with both emotional and practical day-to-day support. This is typically done through key work sessions, risk assessments, and empowerment focused activities. 

You will play a vital role in supporting families, being the sole specialist within the service, which gives you autonomy to shape the role based on your expertise and experience. You will lead on child-focused support, as well as working part of the wider team to provide the support to mothers. You will deliver a range of support for children and young people, as well as family and parenting support. 

About you

We are looking for someone who has a real passion to support families and children who have experienced domestic abuse. You will have a trauma-informed understanding of domestic abuse and the impact it has on families, and will be able to engage in sensitive conversations, recognising signs on trauma, and being proactive to support families to overcome this. This is a hands-on, active role, ideal for someone who is creative, energetic, and passionate about working directly with families. You will be a team player, able to collaborate and provide support to colleagues as needed. 

• A background in working with adults and children, particularly from trauma affected backgrounds
• Experience in supporting mothers in helping children transition to new schools
• Proven ability to plan and deliver engaging play sessions, after school activities, and family events as well as religious and national celebrations
• Confidence in working with children who may have behavioural challenges, being able to signpost to early intervention services

The PR and Communications Manager will explore innovative methods to promote the brand and its activities to the right audiences through targeted campaigns, significantly contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organisation. Most importantly, the Tutor and Partnerships Manager will consistently guide and steer the direction of the Tutor Team to ensure TU continues to make a positive impact at the end of the programme – thus making you accountable for the retention and development of tutors as we continue to grow into new areas of the country. This is a crucial role which drives team performance towards achieving our strategic objectives and ensures the tutor team and cohort is operating in such a way that we are able to hit our organisational targets for impact, finance, and growth. The Tutor and Partnerships Manager is a varied role, reflecting the many different aspects of the tutors’ involvement and importance to Tutors United. As well as overseeing the successful execution of daily operations, the Tutor and Partnerships Manager will work closely with the Senior Management Team and the programmes team to create strategic development opportunities for our tutors that enhance our ability to attract high quality tutors and ensure their own personal and professional growth. You will also develop and refine our Tutor Impact and Measurement systems, so that we are able to make data-driven decisions around recruitment, retention, and tutor development. This will involve identifying trends amongst tutors, making strategic adjustments in response to those trends, and reporting to senior members of Tutors United and our Board of Trustees at different points throughout the academic year. You will also work closely with the Programme and Impact Manager to ensure strong collaboration and cohesion across the frontline delivery team as a whole.
