About you
You’ll support the growth of volunteering in health and social care services by delivering volunteer involving opportunities and enabling their sustainability. A key component of the role will be to work collaboratively with your peers to enable a positive volunteer experience and delivery of effective emotional support interventions to people living with cancer. 

It’s particularly important that you demonstrate sound knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to this role and experience of planning. A rounded understanding of volunteering in its widest sense is useful in addition. Most important of all though, your successful track record in supporting a range of volunteer led services working with a vulnerable client group within a health and care setting is needed to achieve our goals.

What will I be doing?

• Work in partnership with the Associate Director of Philanthropy to lead new philanthropic initiatives supporting the Translation and Innovation pillar of the More Research, Less Cancer campaign.

• Manage a portfolio of prospects with the capacity to give £1m+, focusing on qualification, engagement, and stewardship throughout the full giving cycle. Drive consistent pipeline progress by securing donations and cultivating future support to strengthen CRUK's donor base.

• Achieve agreed fundraising income and prospect cultivation targets and provide regular reporting and metrics against goals.  

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders-including academics, researchers, institutional leaders, and volunteer leaders - to develop and implement strategies for securing gifts of £1M+.

• Support the recruitment, engagement, and stewardship of senior volunteer leaders and campaign board members, working closely with colleagues to leverage their networks and influence in securing transformational gifts.

• Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling, insight-led philanthropic narratives and funding propositions, translating CRUK's research priorities into opportunities that inspire philanthropic support.

•  Develop a strong working knowledge of CRUK's research and impact.

• Contribute to team development by actively sharing best practices, insights, and learnings, fostering a collaborative culture across the Philanthropy Directorate.

• Stay informed about evolving gift and data policies in the UK, ensuring compliance with all relevant fundraising regulations.

• Contribute to cross-directorate initiatives, strategy development, and participate in working groups and other collaborative activities as appropriate.

What are we looking for?

• Extensive experience in professional fundraising within a complex and ambitious organisation, with a proven track record of securing seven-figure gifts.

• Deep knowledge of principal and major gift fundraising best practices, along with a strong understanding of the broader issues and trends shaping philanthropy today.

• Demonstrated success working in fast-paced, complex environments, including involvement in significant fundraising campaigns and managing multiple, high-stakes projects.

Mind in Croydon is seeking to recruit a full time Advocacy Service Manager to join our small, dedicated team of Independent Mental Health Advocates (IMHA) working to provide advocacy services to adults subjected to detention under the Mental Health Act in the London Borough of Croydon to ensure they understand, express and exercise their rights, and to enable them to access essential services. The advocacy team also provides Community Mental Health Advocacy for people who are informal patients in psychiatric hospital or living in the community and provides weekly advocacy service at two InMind Healthcare Group hospitals in Croydon.

The role is ideal for an experienced Advocate, who is passionate about promoting the rights of people who are experiencing poor mental health, in sometimes challenging conditions, but who is also committed to nurture the next generation of future advocates, as a key part of the role will involve supervising and supporting a current trainee in addition to a qualified IMHA, providing guidance, support, and skills development on casework and advocacy.

About the role

This role will be an expert resource to support the Housing Income Team on legal issues and best practice on all aspects of income management and debt recovery. Ensuring collection of the maximum amount of rental income to ensure sufficient revenue to maintain a first-class housing service, and good quality, safe homes as well as compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023. There will be a focus on reviewing, implementing and monitoring of tenant service charges and legislative changes which may impact on what we can collect.

The role will help drive a positive performance culture with a tenant centred approach and will manage a small team of Tenancy Sustainment Officers as well as deputise for the Income Management Team Leader in their absence.

About you

You should be educated to degree level or able to demonstrate significant experience in an equivalent role, have a high level of literacy and analytical skills and experience of working with a range of client groups within the community. Working knowledge of housing, landlord and tenant legislation, regulations, standards and core disciplines of work area is essential for this role as is experience of successfully managing staff, debt recovery and service charging in a social housing setting.

You must be an excellent communicator, be literate and be able to use a range of Microsoft Office products and work specific software packages. There is a requirement for you to also be available as part of the council’s emergency planning arrangements subject to service requirements.

A clean driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.

The Employment Support Coordinator will regularly meet with participants to listen, offer support and help them identify their best job match, reflecting their skills and aspirations.

In your day-to-day role, you will be striving to build, expand and strengthen the project whilst working closely with the Employment Manager to ensure all key performance indicators and any project targets are met. The role is responsible for onboarding individuals into the project as well as delivering face-to-face mentoring, work experience in and outdoors and coaching.

Project Skills:

• Support with the daily operations of the project scope.
• Supporting individuals through CV production, profiling, interview techniques, attending interviews, workshops, job clubs and managing their health at work.
• Adhere to the strategies to grow and enhance the projects, meeting the ever-changing needs of those we support.
• Identify skills gaps for participants and offer Asdan short courses to support development.
• Building relationships with community partners including DWP, Social Care and prescribers, and other charities and government organisations to gain referrals for the project.
• Sourcing job opportunities for your participants through regular contact with key local employers.

Teamwork:

• Work in partnership with Hamelin’s service offer, especially the Links service and Opportunity Center.
• Ensure the project remains a motivated team that aligns with our values and goals.
• Report on the performance of the current project, providing feedback and support to ensure high standards of care and efficiency.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

• Follow Hamelin’s policies and procedures to maintain best practices and regulatory standards.
• Implement and oversee quality assurance processes, including gathering feedback from project participants and colleagues to keep improving our service delivery.
• Engage with and become involved with continuing self-development.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Identify, build and maintain strong relationships with project participants, families, local and health authorities representatives, and other key stakeholders.
• Represent the Charity and service at meetings, events, and forums, advocating for the needs and rights of those we support.
•  Work closely with other teams and services within the charity to ensure a unified approach to care and support.

Business Development:

• Identify and exploit opportunities for expanding the service, from new partnerships and funding sources both inside and outside health and care to innovative care models.
• Prepare and present feedback and data when required, to the Employment Manager.
• Lead marketing and promotion of the service, boosting awareness. interest and attracting new project participants.

About You

It’s essential that:

• You have at least two years’ experience within a coordination/administration service for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism.
• You have a proven track record of successful project administration.
• You hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
• Be ready to work flexibly, which could include weekends and bank holidays. You might also be asked to work in different services as needed.

Our People Operations Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of our people processes, systems, and administration, ensuring that they are fully fit for purpose. Reporting to the People Director, you will be joining a highly supportive and friendly People Team, committed to working together to provide a high-quality and responsive service to the organisation.

While your main focus will be our UK people operations, you will also engage with our country offices around the world, developing an understanding of their people operations and working with them to maximise efficiency across the organisation.

The role is varied including optimising people processes and systems, managing and developing our global HRIS, configuring and rolling-out new systems/modules (e.g. global ATS, UK payroll), overseeing UK and international payroll administration and UK pension and benefits, managing our UK business sponsorship licence and sponsor duties, ensuring a high-quality information and reporting service to internal stakeholders, and working on global people projects and initiatives.

You will have substantial experience managing people operations at a similar level, developing, implementing and managing systems, processes and administration relating to all stages of the employee life-cycle. You will be comfortable configuring, managing and maintaining a HRIS. You will have a thorough understanding of UK payroll processes and UK pension regulations, as well as a thorough understanding of UK employment and immigration law. Experience as a SMS Level 1 User is desirable and experience managing a global HRIS would be an advantage.

You will have excellent people management skills and will enjoy collaborating and consulting with colleagues around the globe to understand their needs as we strive for continuous improvement. Your interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build effective and productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels across Fauna & Flora.

You will have a methodical and rigorous approach to work and a meticulous attention to detail. Excellent numeracy and data analysis skills are also essential, as is knowledge of data protection legislation and fluency in spoken and written English.
