About the role

As local campaigning lead in our award-winning public affairs and campaigns team, you will play a pivotal role in driving Sands’ mission to save babies’ lives and ensure bereaved families receive the care and support they need.

You will need experience of delivering and evaluating impactful campaigns, and of working in close partnership with those with lived experience to create meaningful, lasting change at a local or national level.

This is a dynamic, outward-facing role that combines strategic campaigning with hands-on community organising. You will have the skills to support and develop a network of local campaigners, empowering volunteers and supporters to take action in their communities, influence decision-makers, and improve services over the long term. You will also feel comfortable representing Sands at a local level, developing strong relationships to amplify the organisation’s voice and impact.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will ensure campaigns are evidence-based, inclusive, and shaped by the lived experiences of diverse bereaved families. You will create compelling content and digital actions, support media engagement, and use data and insight to evaluate impact and continuously strengthen our approach.

Main Purpose of Job 

To lead Sands’ local campaigning function.

Co-lead impactful campaigns at a local and devolved nation level with bereaved parents and families, supporting Sands core aims to save babies lives and ensure anyone affected by the death of a baby receives the care and support they need by:

1. Leading the implementation and evaluation of Sands local campaigns to further our core aims.

2. Developing the capacity of Sands local volunteers, supporters and campaigners to take action to improve their local services in the long-term.

3. Ensuring that Sands campaigns are evidence based and reflect the views and experiences of a diverse range of bereaved parents and families.

Principle Tasks and Responsibilities 

Leading implementation, and evaluation of Sands local campaigns to further Sands core aims.

 

• Lead local campaigns at Sands in line with our local campaigning strategy, collaborating and planning with key internal stakeholders, and staying up to date with best practise in local campaigning and community organising techniques externally.
• Evaluate the success of the local campaigns with internal and external stakeholders, implementing recommendations for future improvement.
• Work with colleagues to grow Sands’ local campaigning presence across the UK, including supporting funding applications to build staff capacity.
• Manage the budget for local campaigning.
• Represent Sands at a local level, attending meetings, and building relationships, with local politicians, NHS and council officials, journalists, third sector organisations, and other local stakeholders.
• Produce engaging campaigns content for use digitally across different platforms and in hard copy, working with the engagement team to ensure asks are effectively communicated to key audiences.
• Create compelling e-actions to support our campaigns using the Sands digital campaigning platform.
• Work with colleagues to support the production of press releases and responses to media inquiries.
• Organise campaigns meetings and events (virtual or in person).
• Recruit and line manage local campaigns staff, supporting and collaborating with them to roll out impactful local campaigns in more areas (subject to future funding).

 

Developing the capacity of Sands volunteers, supporters, and campaigners to take action to improve their local services in the long-term. 

 

• Manage local campaign groups of bereaved parents and families, empowering and motivating them to implement campaigns to solve issues that affect them and create long-term change in their communities.
• Using community organising techniques to build the capacity of local campaigners and groups to campaign independently in the long-term – connecting local people, facilitating workshops and discussions, developing local campaign leaders, and recruiting new members into campaigns.
• Work collaboratively with teams working with Sands supporters and volunteers to maximise the impact of our campaigns, including supporting the creation of effective campaign supporter journeys.
• Create written and visual resources to support campaigning.
• Develop training sessions to build campaigning skills, to be delivered online or in person, or recorded.
• Provide advice and support to Sands campaigners via email, telephone and video call.
• Ensure key data and information about Sands campaigns and our campaigners are up to date and stored in the relevant place, including the Sands database.

 

Ensure that Sands campaigns are evidence based and reflect the views and experiences of a diverse range of bereaved parents and families.

 

· Undertake evidence gathering projects to support Sands campaigns work, including collating and analysing data and presenting findings in an accessible and engaging way.

· Ensure that the views of bereaved parents and families inform Sands campaigns and provide opportunities for Sands volunteers to get involved in our campaigning activity.

· Provide direct support to bereaved parents to help them become confident campaigners, so they are well informed, equipped to speak out and know how to go about it.

 

General tasks 

· Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as required by the Head of Public Affairs and Campaigns and the Director of Research, Education and Policy.

· Model the culture and values of Sands at all times.

· Work flexibly with other members of staff and team, with some evening/weekend working.

· Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional conduct.

· Abide by all Sands Policies and Procedures and undertake all mandatory training as required.

· Participate actively in annual appraisals and personal development reviews.

As a Finance Business Partner, you'll work alongside budget holders across Alzheimer's Society, turning complex financial information into clear insights that support better decision-making.

You'll build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, providing the financial analysis, challenge and support they need to navigate complexity with confidence. Through coaching and partnership, you'll help budget holders strengthen their own financial capability, so that sound financial thinking becomes part of how the Society operates, not something that sits only within Finance.

You'll be part of our Finance and Assurance directorate, where our vision is to be the Society's single point of truth. Working within the Financial Partnering, Planning and Analysis function, you'll be the dedicated finance partner for our Dementia Support and Partnerships directorate, connecting Finance with the teams responsible for providing our services across the UK. You'll translate their plans into sound financial frameworks that enable our mission rather than hold it back.

About you

You're a finance professional with proven business partnering experience who understands that effective partnering means combining accurate numbers with clear communication, constructive challenge and a genuine interest in helping others see the bigger picture. You're comfortable working across boundaries, building relationships at all levels, and coaching colleagues to develop their financial confidence.

- A relevant professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), either fully or part qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Experience supporting business teams with budgeting, forecasting and month-end processes, including ensuring appropriate controls are in place and financial performance is communicated effectively and on time.
- A track record of applying analytical skills to provide financial advice that supports strategic decision-making.

About the role

Joining our dedicated team of nurses, you’ll support our helpline and Ask Our Nurses (AON).

The nursing team includes an associate director, senior clinical nurse specialists, clinical nurse specialists, and sessional nurses and trained helpline staff.

You’ll act as a resource for clients, healthcare professionals and the wider public on the subject of breast health and breast cancer. This includes providing information and support to clients though our national helpline, by email and social media.

The helpline service is run throughout the week, and on Saturday mornings (the latter is optional, other than training days). The helpline hours are 8:45am to 4.00pm. Team training usually occurs twice a year on Saturdays. You’ll be supported by a senior clinical nurse specialist and have regular clinical supervision. We’re looking for candidates who are able to work at least one day (6.25 hours) per week.

About the project 

WeProtect Global Alliance is seeking external expertise to assess its current data protection arrangements and support the development of an organisation-wide data protection framework.

The Alliance processes personal information relating to employees, consultants, suppliers, partners, donors, members and other stakeholders. Data is held across multiple business functions, including internal operations and membership services.

The purpose of this project is to:

§  Assess the Alliance's current data protection maturity and compliance position;

§  Identify strengths, risks and gaps in existing policies, procedures and practices;

§  Review organisational governance arrangements relating to data protection;

§  Support the development of a practical and proportionate Data Protection Policy and governance framework;

We are looking for an experienced Impact Evaluation Manager to lead how we understand, measure, and demonstrate the impact of our work at a national level.

This is a high-profile, strategic role where your expertise will directly influence decision-making, shape national programmes, and strengthen evidence-based practice across the fire and rescue sector.

As NFCC’s lead for impact evaluation, you will:

• Develop and implement a consistent, organisation-wide approach to evaluation

The fire and rescue sector is undergoing a major transformation in how it defines, develops and assures professional competence. This role sits at the heart of that change. 

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Competence Co‑ordinator to support delivery of the NFCC Competence Reform Programme—helping ensure that people across the sector have the right knowledge, skills and behaviours to keep communities safe. 

About this role 

Working closely with the NFCC Competence Programme Manager, you will play a critical role in coordinating and supporting the development of national competence frameworks, tools and guidance. 

You will collaborate with NFCC Hubs, fire and rescue services, and subject matter experts to translate the NFCC Model of Competence into practical, consistent and high‑quality outputs that can be used across the sector. 

This is a varied and hands‑on role combining programme coordination, stakeholder engagement and content development. 

Key Responsibilities 

Programme coordination & governance 

• Support planning and delivery of the Competence Reform Programme 

• Maintain programme documentation (plans, trackers, risk logs, action logs) 

• Coordinate meetings, agendas, minutes and follow‑up actions 

• Prepare reports and updates for boards, committees and governance groups 

Competence framework development 

• Support NFCC Hubs to design, test and refine competence frameworks 

• Coordinate subject matter expert input and feedback processes 

• Ensure frameworks align with the NFCC Model of Competence 

• Maintain version control, development records and publication readiness 

Training tools & guidance 

• Contribute to the development of:

• Training materials 

• Learning resources 

• Implementation guidance 

• Templates and toolkits 

• Translate technical content into clear, practical guidance 

• Support creation of slide decks, FAQs and facilitator notes 

Stakeholder engagement & implementation 

• Support engagement with fire and rescue services and national stakeholders 

• Maintain accurate records of consultation and feedback 

• Assist with communications, briefings and presentations 

• Support implementation and adoption of competence frameworks 

About you 

You are a highly organised and collaborative individual with strong communication skills and experience supporting structured programmes or content development projects. 

Essential experience 

• Developing frameworks, guidance, training materials or similar products 

• Working with subject matter experts to produce clear written outputs 

• Managing documentation such as plans, trackers, logs or reports 

• Supporting meetings, governance processes and stakeholder engagement 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Excellent organisational and IT skills (Microsoft Office and collaboration tools) 

Desirable experience 

• Learning & development, HR, organisational development or workforce planning 

• Competence frameworks or professional standards development 

• Programme or project delivery in complex environments 

• Experience in the fire and rescue sector or other public/emergency services 

• Knowledge of UK fire sector governance or national standards 

Qualifications (desirable) 

• CIPD Level 3 / 5 or equivalent experience 

• Project or programme management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, AgilePM)

The Winchester Beacon has been supporting individuals experiencing homelessness for almost forty years. The organisation provides a safe and welcoming accommodation for up to 22 individuals, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day across 4 sites. Residents receive personalised support through regular one-to-one meetings with a Support Worker to plan steps towards positive change and independent living.

Role Description

This 0.6 part-time hybrid role of Facilities Manager is based in Winchester with some flexibility for remote work. The Facilities Manager will oversee the maintenance, safety and functionality of the organisation’s main site and off-site residences. Responsibilities include coordinating repairs and maintenance, managing contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and performing regular site inspections. The role also involves maintaining records, managing budgets related to facilities, and collaborating with staff and stakeholders to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of facilities maintenance, including performing inspections, coordinating repairs and engaging with contractors.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong organisational and budget management skills to effectively oversee resources and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Experience in managing multiple sites and troubleshooting facility-related issues is advantageous.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment.
• A commitment to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and knowledge of housing-related services is a plus.
