Job Title: Support Time and Recovery Worker 

Location: Based in Lewisham, across various homes, hospitals, wards, and supported living accommodations

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern:  37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Please note, due to the nature of the service, it is an occupational requirement that the post holder is female and the post is therefore exempt from the provisions of the Equality Act 2010 in terms of Schedule 9, Part 1, and Paragraph 1 of the Act.  

About the role

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting those who struggle with complex needs, substance use, and dual diagnosis. We are looking for someone who can work flexibly to support residents and participants who struggle to engage with the support available to them through various providers. You will be at the heart of engaging our participants to regain motivation and the strength to step down from acute psychiatric wards and other supported living, by empowering them with the relevant skills and knowledge to support their journey. You will support them towards achieving their personal goals including independent living. You will be based across various homes, hospitals, wards, and supported living accommodations based around Lewisham.

You will provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions that will enable successful resettlements, and deliver to achieve more safer, integrated communities for our stakeholders. The areas of support will include: Prevention, Transition, Activities of Daily Living (ADL), Support, and Social Inclusion. 

This role will work alongside South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) who provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. They also provide substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol with 4,600 staff serving a local population of 1.3 million people.

• Support a caseload of participants, contribute to the development of support plans, risk assessments and reviews.
• Positively promote the pathways available towards independent living within the community. Ensure participants understand what tools and resources are available to them to regain independence.
• Participate in, and encourage R&Ps to participate in the running and development of projects, initiatives, training and volunteering.
• Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent a crisis.
• You may need to attend external appointments when required.
• Admin duties will vary, this includes maintaining confidential records in a timely manner using

• You will understand the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs and be aware of the social marginalisation that can be attached to people who face personal challenges

Do you have a good understanding of housing law and proven experience of preparing, planning and delivering training courses to individuals and groups, online and face to face? We are looking for a Trainer and you could soon be helping us to help better support professionals and their clients with housing problems.

About the Role

You will deliver training to a variety of external customers, focussing on housing and homelessness. The overall aim will be to support capacity and capability of the housing and homelessness sector to achieve better outcomes. You will need to keep your knowledge up to date and contribute the insights you gain from training delivery and observing our front-line services to develop existing and new courses, ensuring excellent quality and positive feedback. Also, you will participate in consultancy and mystery shopping as needed.

About you

To succeed, you will need experience of delivering and developing training courses which are engaging and interactive, along with a strong understanding of housing and homelessness law. You will also have a sound knowledge of IT tools such as webinar and e-learning platform and Microsoft applications.  The role will involve travel to deliver training as needed.

About the team

You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team that delivers a range of second tier services to support those on the frontline to achieve positive outcomes for people with housing problems. These include training in housing and homeless prevention, housing law consultancy advice, housing debt casework, information and online resources and various targeted projects. We are a national team and work in conjunction with the wider organisation including Legal Services, Learning and Development, Business Support, Telephone and Online services and Operations teams.

We are recruiting for an experienced Area Manager to oversee 12 dedicated shop teams in Greater London and South East England.

In this role you will provide great leadership, inspiration and support to ensure the shop teams (paid colleagues and volunteers) are the very best they can be.  You will develop your team to deliver commercial success and be passionate ambassadors for Scope within the local communities.

Permanent - 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday does include quarterly weekend working). Some home working is involved.

Starting full-time salary £36,429.86 per annum and this role will also include a Car allowance of £5,000 per annum or a company car is available.

The role will be supporting 12 Scope shops in Greater London and South East England. Overnights stays and travel will be an expected part of the role.

The role

The role is ideal for an experienced Area Manager with a background in fashion and the charity sector, but we also welcome candidates from the retail industry with strong transferable skills as well as a great attitude and willingness to learn:

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Maximise sales and effectively manage expenditure to achieve profit targets.
• Oversee shop teams composed of both paid colleagues and volunteers to drive performance.
• Support and deliver key activities from the Retail Strategy and Business Plan.
• Identify and develop the potential of colleagues  across the Area.
• Build effective working relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Positively promote Scope with the public in the local community.

About You

• You will be passionate about retail
• You will have a love of sustainable fashion and bring extensive, multi-site experience managing a large team.
• You will be commercial, resilient, have a can-do attitude and be a great coach and an inspirational leader.  
• You will be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic, a great attention to detail and solid reporting skills.
