an experienced, part-time Human Rights Outreach Officer to oversee an exciting 
new 2.5 year project we are delivering to build understanding of human rights issues 
and law. 
The person we are looking for will be well organised, motivated and aware of the 
nuanced issues affecting diverse and disadvantaged communities. Their duties 
include arranging training, workshops and outreach visits to create awareness of 
human rights legislation and the practical impacts in areas with large, transient 
communities. 
The Outreach Worker will act as primary contact for the project and policy work and 
ensure good working relationships with a range of key contacts including policy and 
programmes partners.

About the role

The role will play a critical role to help deliver an effective and high performing rent collection and recovery service in accordance with legislation, the organisation’s policies, set performance targets and customer satisfaction requirements. In collaboration with the Resident Services Manager to ensure that the organisation is compliant with all regulations and using robust policy and procedures and ensuring the right systems are in place to effectively manage the revenue and income streams and arrears of the organisation. This role will also manage the impact of welfare reform provisions, ensuring an effective advice and support service to residents to manage risk on revenue and income levels.

Responsibilities

• The role also oversees the best payment methods for all residents at sign up and this includes the setting up of standing orders or direct debits in line with the direct debit guarantee where applicable. To liaise with the Assistant Accountant who will oversee the administration of this.

• Production of performance and management reports, setting collection targets in consultation with the Resident Services Manager and proactively monitoring and reporting in respect of service delivery, performance indicators and targets.

• Maximise the collection of arrears by having regular meetings with the Team Managers; being proactive in contacting Support Workers or residents, providing them with clear instructions on information requests and repayment options.

• To work closely with other members of the Revenue team to manage resident rent and accommodation charge accounts and other former resident debts, on a regular basis identifying trends and patterns on individual accounts and then liaise with Support Workers or residents to rectify income issues and address arrears in line with policies and procedures.

• To maximise rent collection in line with targets by making arrangements to recover rent arrears and to enforce related tenancy conditions, ensuring residents’ rent accounts are monitored and prompt actions taken to prevent the accumulation of debt, and to authorise any rent account adjustments and refunds.

• Work closely with the Assistant Accountant to ensure that all residents Personal Contributions (PC) and Housing Benefit (HB) are calculated correctly on sign up and when there has been a change of circumstance

• Liaising with local authorities’ benefits teams and Government agencies on new benefit claims and issues in liaison with the Assistant Accountant and regular meetings together.

• Acting as the main first point of contact on queries around revenue and income management, policies, procedures and systems.

• Ensuring team have Welfare benefits training and are up to date with regulation. Working with Support Workers to ensure residents maximise their incomes by claiming all benefits due them

• To assist vulnerable residents with prompt and appropriate action and advice, and liaise with other agencies and departments to ensure that their needs are met.

• To be responsible for preparing timely and accurate reports on arrears cases, to attend Court and represent the organisation on individual arrears and possession cases when relevant, to prepare eviction reports and represent the organisation at evictions to ensure the successful repossession of properties.

• To maintain appropriate and accurate records to comply with statutory and service-wide reporting requirements on performance issues.

• To contribute towards the continuous improvement of performance in line with the organisation’s service plan targets.

• To work with other agencies and departments such as the organisation’s Finance Department, Customer Services Team; Housing Benefits, The DWP, Advice agencies, Housing Officers, Solicitors and the Courts in delivering an efficient and effective service.

• To attend meetings internally as and when necessary, for example, Directorate, Management and planning meetings.

• Cover the lead person when required on daily cash reconciliations whilst following finance policies and procedures

• Cover the lead persons when required to organise banking with the Finance Department whilst working closely with colleagues within the Resident Services Department and other senior employees to carry out banking runs.

Job Summary

The Philanthropy Manager will develop a philanthropy strategy, building on the partnerships and resources already in place. You will develop a pipeline backed up by robust prospect research (some administrative assistance will be provided), and instigate a cultivation and stewardship programme, typically adopting a staged approach to major asks.

You will be accountable for the acquisition, development, and stewardship of high value supporters for CUF, both individual philanthropists and non-statutory grant-making bodies. You will develop and strengthen relationships with existing donors, as well as identifying warm prospects currently not supporting CUF financially. A key part of your role will be meeting and engaging major donor prospects to grow the pool.

You will engage with Trustees and senior leaders, to identify and nurture Christian philanthropists and grant body decision-makers within their spheres of influence.

You will lead on developing cases for support and writing grant applications, helped by the wider staff team.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with high levels of motivation, and the ability to both develop and operationalise strategy as a member of a small team. Reprieve’s staff is made up of courageous and committed human rights defenders. We provide vital legal and investigative support to those facing execution and victims of rendition, torture, arbitrary detention, extrajudicial killing, and citizenship stripping. We support cases in courts worldwide while building the legal and political momentum necessary to consign these practices to history.

Based in London with Fellows and partners globally, Reprieve operates at the intersection of law, policy, and human rights, working alongside governments, senior legal practitioners, and civil society to advance systemic change.

We collaborate closely with our independent partner organisation Reprieve US.

Terms

This is a full-time role on a permanent contract. The annual salary is £71,379 per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 40% of their working hours from the London office and the rest of the week from home. Applicants must have the current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.

We are looking for a Triage Worker for the Young Londoners Victim Services for a 6 month fixed term contract.

The Young Londoners’ Victim Service provides specialist support for children and young people who are victims and witnesses of crime across London to help them cope and recover from their experiences.

Salary: £27,000 - £29,000

Location: Based across Advance locations in Hammersmith, Finsbury Park and Stratford

Hours: 21 Hours per week over 3 days between 10am-6pm. One of your working days will be Monday, we can be flexible about when you do the remaining two days and will discuss further at interview.

Contract: 6 month Fixed Term Contract with potential to extend

About the role:

Advance's Young Londoners Victim Service is looking for a Triage Worker who can provide individual assessment of impact and risk within the Young Londoners Victim Service Model, through dedicated telephone or online-based intervention and comprehensive, holistic intake processes.

In this role, you will provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime, leading on initial impact and risk assessments and delivering immediate and short-term intervention to anyone affected by crime. Support will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users to support those affected by crime in understanding and asserting their rights and entitlements, facilitate access to additional services through signposting clients to other provision when appropriate, establish healthy coping mechanisms, and provide practical support and information.

About You:

To be successful as the Triage Worker you will need the below experience and skills:

You bring strong experience in coordination and administration which will enable you to manage referrals to the service on a daily basis. You ensure that all data and information is entered accurately into the case management system and manage the shared email inboxes responding to queries in a timely manner. You have previous experience of delivering a service and working directly with clients in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting. You demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain strong, constructive working relationships and partner with partnerships with relevant statutory and voluntary groups.
