About the Role

As Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer, you will support the design and implementation of evidenced-based projects. This will enable the organisation to deliver high quality programmes, monitoring and evaluating impact and conducting data analysis, playing an essential role in ensuring accountability and improving information management and data quality.

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include

· Supporting the regional Programmes and Partnerships Advisors, International teams, and partners throughout the project cycle, to ensure that MEL activities and requirements are fully integrated into project and programme plans and budgets.

· Supporting the Programme Design and Impact Advisor (PDIA) to ensure that funded projects are effectively and efficiently monitored and evaluated and that learnings are captured, understood, shared and embedded into future work.

· Supporting the PDIA to promote and embed the use of the International Theory of Change and Quality Standards into ways of working.

· Supporting the implementation of, and conducting regular reviews into, the International Results Framework and associated MEL tools.

· Leading the collection, collation, storage, analysis and reporting of project and programme data, in line with the International Results Framework, to help demonstrate and communicate the impact of our international work.

· Supporting the preparation and review of internal reports in collaboration with programme staff, ensuring high-quality reporting, and that learning is captured and utilised.

· Strengthening monitoring, evaluation, feedback, and learning practices across the UK and international teams, as well as partners, through training, workshops, webinars, etc.

About You

We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level or has the equivalent in experience.

You will also have:

· Demonstrable skills in monitoring, evaluation, feedback, and learning methods; including knowledge of best practices and experience with M&E frameworks, feedback, and learning processes.

· Significant knowledge or experience of conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

· Proven experience of developing MEL training and mentoring approaches, designing and facilitating participatory capacity development activities targeted to non-expert audiences.

· A practical understanding of the principal evaluation methodologies, and data collection and analysis techniques.

· Competent IT skills, including MS Office

· Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor approach for a wide range of audiences.

We are seeking an Assistant Coastal Birds Project Monitoring Officer to join our cause.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Bird Aware Solent team, hosted by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust within the Ecology Team. Bird Aware Solent aims to raise awareness of overwintering coastal birds within the three Solent Special Protection Areas and reduce disturbance to coastal birds through influencing the behaviour of visitors, and through projects that aim to mitigate for increased visitor and recreational pressures in the Solent.

A number of mitigation projects have been proposed and implemented, requiring monitoring to understand their effectiveness as well as increase our knowledge of the efficacy of different site-based mitigation strategies. This role will assist on the design and implementation of mitigation monitoring for the projects, by surveying and assessing the impacts on coastal birds and visitor behaviour.

Monitoring and research work is essential to ensuring conservation decision-making is based on sound evidence. This role therefore requires experience in coastal bird ecology, ecological survey techniques and data analysis.

Background

Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. We work in partnership with people affected by leprosy and LF to improve detection, ensure access to treatment and care, and promote inclusion and wellbeing. Job Context

Our Global Strategy marks a significant evolution in our organisational direction, introducing innovative approaches and renewed priorities. This includes our first-ever global Theory of Change (ToC), our most comprehensive Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) framework to date, a Research and Innovation strategy, and a dedicated Advocacy sub-strategy to guide our influencing efforts.

Within this context, the Programmes Officer will play a vital role in supporting the work of the Programmes and Advocacy team. This is a dynamic and multifaceted position that spans the areas of research, implementation, advocacy, and MEAL. The successful candidate will be a proactive and well-organised individual, capable of managing multiple responsibilities, coordinating projects, and fostering effective communication across teams and departments.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to provide essential support to a small, dedicated team within the UK Programmes and Advocacy team, facilitating the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects aimed at addressing leprosy and LF. Working closely with the Senior Programmes Manager and the team, the Programmes Officer will ensure seamless coordination of activities, enhance data-driven decision-making processes, and contribute to impactful advocacy and research initiatives.

Working Relationships

• Reports to Lepra UK’s Senior Programme Manager
• Works closely with the Programmes and Advocacy Team
• Day-to-day management liaison with the State Coordinators and other staff of Lepra’ sister organisation in India, LEPRA Society and the Lepra Bangladesh team.
• Close working links and collaboration with institutional funders and partners
• Close working links with other Lepra teams in the UK – namely, the Fundraising and Communications Team and the Finance and Operations team.
• International travel as needed for programmes oversight and support, and external representation.

 Key Responsibilities

Programme Support (40%)

• Assist the Senior Programme Manager (SPM) in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of leprosy and LF related projects.
• With oversight from the SPM manage the implementation of small projects
• Coordinate with colleagues in India and Bangladesh to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
• Assist in preparing detailed reports including quarterly progress reports, annual reports and end of project reports, presentations, and project documentation as required.[VK1] 
• Assist in tracking progress against work plans, budgets, and project milestones.

Administrative and Logistical Support (10%)

• Scheduling meetings and coordinating travel arrangements
• Preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes, and tracking action points.
• Supporting the coordination of team-wide planning and reporting processes.

 Research Support (10%)

• Work closely with the Head of Research to facilitate research activities and technical assessments.
• Assist in the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative research.
• Assist in preparing and disseminating research findings through reports, publications, and presentations.

 MEAL Support (10%)

• Contribute to maintaining robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems by supporting the team in collecting, analysing, and reporting data on project outcomes and impact.
• Support the collection and analysis of the recent baseline study in India.
• Support the data collection and analysis process for the annual report.
• Support the team in monitoring performance through tracking process indicators, monitoring for trends and contributing to trends analysis.

Advocacy Support (10%)

• Develop and prepare advocacy materials including briefs, presentations, and reports.

Qualifications

 Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, International Development, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in project coordination, preferably in the health; humanitarian or in the international development sector.

Desirable

• Relevant post-graduate qualification

• Project Cycle management qualification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• Experience in project coordination or management, preferably within the health or humanitarian sector.

• Experience as a project coordinator, preferably gained with an overseas development organisation or in academia, in a similar health focused role.

About the Role

• Group Legal function

You’ll lead on maintaining and evolving our Risk Management Framework, ensure we meet legal and regulatory requirements, and provide assurance to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.

Healthwatch City of London are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced communications and engagement officer to ensure that the patient and service users voice is at the heart of Health and Social Care decision making.  The successful candidate will drive engagement with the local community, creating visibility of our work to residents and partners. You will also be responsible for the management of our volunteer team and the exciting projects they undertake.

This part time role (4 days a week) is within a busy small team representing the residents, workers and students of the City of London. Healthwatch City of London are the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. We’re here to make sure that those running services, put people at the heart of care. Our sole purpose is to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of people who use health and social care services, and to speak out on their behalf. We also work to get services right for the future.

You’ll also be representing our organisation at network meetings across all the various Health and Social Care providers, charity partners and patient groups across North East London.

Role purpose

Working closely with the General Manager and Trustees you will develop and deliver the communications and engagement strategy for the organisation, making sure the patients voice is at the heart of everything we do. You will write monthly newsletters, daily social media posts, organise and manage engagement and information events and produce statutory publications. You will also deliver the volunteer strategy by recruiting and managing a wide-ranging volunteer team and identifying relevant projects which enhance and deliver on Healthwatch City of London objectives.
