We are excited to be recruiting a Coordinator to join The Scholars Programme Team and support us in delivering the goals set out in Join the Club, our ambitious strategy for 2021-2026. The Coordinator supports the Programme Management and University Events teams, and wider organisation, helping to ensure strategic priorities are effectively delivered, and that schools, tutors and universities receive a high-quality service.

The role will lead on several administrative processes and will include regular document creation, data input and management, liaising with stakeholders and supporting Scholars Programme events. This role will be based in our London office and will involve in-person working in the office one day per week, as well as some travel to support at events at our different university partners. 

Turner’s House is a small independent museum in Twickenham housed in a Grade II* listed building, open to the public since 2017. This is a key role in helping secure its long-term sustainability. The Partnerships Director will be responsible for leading all income-generating and related partnership activity (fundraising, commercial hires, marketing/PR, retail, commercial events, donor cultivation etc.), as well as being hands-on in ensuring the House is open and running smoothly, including keyholder responsibilities (opening/closing, occasional weekend or evening work). This is an exciting opportunity to shape income streams, build capacity, and work on site in a close-knit team.

• Lead and deliver a portfolio income strategy: trusts & foundations grants, individuals (Circles and Patrons), corporates/sponsorship, commercial events, commercial hires.
• Write, prepare, submit and manage grant applications and funding bids; manage relationships with funders (reporting, stewardship).
• Identify new revenue streams (e.g. venue hire for private/events, retail opportunities, location hires etc).
• Set and monitor income targets in conjunction with the Board of Trustees; evaluate performance and report regularly.
•  Build and maintain partnerships with local organisations, heritage bodies, tourism, community groups and set a strategy for our Patrons and benefactors.
• Lead marketing and promotional activity to raise awareness, increase visitor numbers and attendance at events, promote venue hires, attract hires and donors.
• Oversee creation of promotional materials (print, digital), social media content, website updates.
• Use PR opportunities to profile Turner’s House in local/national media.
• Act as keyholder: opening & closing the building, ensuring security & visitor readiness once or twice a week as needed.
• Work on-site regularly to support visitor experience during public opening hours (Wed-Sun, plus special / evening events).
• Help ensure events and hires run smoothly, coordinating with House Director and volunteers.

The Tours & Projects Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of several key areas of the  Orchestra’s core performance activity, including but not limited to: international stand-alone concerts, tours and  residencies; UK tours, engagements and festival performances; commercial recordings and special projects. 

Working in a fast-paced environment as part of a friendly, fun and creative team, the role of Tours & Projects Manager provides a unique opportunity to work with leading musicians and conductors. Excellent organisational and budgeting  skills, attention to detail, innovative thinking and a flexible approach to working will help you manage, develop and  execute a diverse range of projects to the highest standard. 

With oversight from the Senior Concerts Manager and Concerts Director, the post-holder will work closely with the  Concerts Coordinators, Concerts Assistant and the Orchestra Operations Team in the delivery of outstanding performances in territories as varied as the UK, USA, Asia and Europe.

Key Responsibilities 

• Planning and coordinating of all international tours and residencies undertaken by the Orchestra, • Planning and coordinating of UK-based performances, engagements and tours outside of the Orchestra’s  core regional residencies.

• Planning and coordinating commercial recordings and special projects, shared with Concerts & Projects  Manager, according to orchestra schedule. 

• Developing and managing detailed itineraries, travel schedules, visas, freight and accommodation for  musicians, artists, staff and equipment.

• Preparing project budgets, managing and maintaining set budgets and final reconciliation and invoicing,  including international tax applications on behalf of the Orchestra. 

• Liaising with the Orchestra’s Head of Production and Stage Managers regarding practical  arrangements for all concerts and projects, including, but not limited to, stage plans, stage extensions,  ATA carnet applications; truck requirements, second instruments etc. 

• Liaising closely with the Orchestra Librarians on orchestrations and editions for repertoire being  performed or recorded. 

• Supervising the Concerts Coordinators and Assistant in the practical delivery of contracts, PPE letters,  technical riders, dressing room and security lists, rehearsal venue bookings, flight and hotel lists etc. • Keeping abreast of all relevant agreements and updates from the Association of British Orchestras and  Musicians’ Union concerning touring best practice and regulation. 

• Liaising with the Orchestra Committee and Artistic Committee regarding player matters as directed by Senior Concerts Manager/Concerts Director. 

• Travel with the Orchestra on all international tours and attending concerts & projects within the UK as  necessary.

• Upholding and demonstrating the Orchestra's values. Representing the Philharmonia with utmost  professionalism at all times. 

• Undertaking such other duties as may reasonably be required by the Company. 

Skills and Qualifications 

Essential: 

• Minimum three years’ managerial experience in classical music administration preferably with a focus on tour management 

• Demonstrable experience in performance production and scheduling; including knowledge of  international visas, tax and travel. 

• A passion for orchestral music; 

• Meticulous attention to detail; 

• Self-motivated and a diligent worker; 

• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise whilst working across a wide range of projects  at any one time; 

• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal being able to converse with a wide range of  stakeholders;

The successful candidate will be responsible for running these sessions weekly, managing session staff, delivering engaging activities, attending occasional day trips, as well as responding to and reporting any safeguarding concerns. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

1. To lead the delivery of youth sessions at Knights Youth Centre (KYC) and facilitate youth provision in line with the ethos, values and vision of Oasis. 
2. To work and engage with young people (aged 14-18), by delivering planned sessions, activities and occasional trips.

The successful post holder must have:

· Proven experience in leading youth work provision for young people aged 14-18.

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional individual fundraiser to join the Philanthropy team at King’s College London, leading on fundraising for The Dickson Poon School of Law.

As a Grants and Learning Officer, you’ll be helping us to deliver our ambitious, nationwide grants programme. We currently support over 500 grassroots organisations and 18-30 year old creatives, and have a busy grants cycle to manage, alongside ever-increasing numbers of applications. 

This year, we’re building and migrating to a new grants database and you’ll play an integral role on the project team. In addition, you’ll manage an assigned portfolio of grants, and help with all aspects of the funding cycle. You’ll support applicants and funded partners, make funding recommendations, administer grants, provide feedback and support, and visit projects. 

About You

First and foremost, you’ll be passionate about the work that Youth Music does. As a skilled administrator, you’re not fazed by planning, monitoring, reporting, and spreadsheets. You have an eye for detail. You’ve got good IT skills and working knowledge of how databases operate. With the development of our new database this is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys developing processes and working with data and detail. 

You’re a collaborative worker who enjoys being part of a friendly team, as well as travelling on your own to build new relationships with a diverse range of people. As a grants manager you’ll have an instinct for what’s important – when to give advice, and when to step back.

Key Responsibilities 

Grant Making

• Relationship management for a diverse portfolio of grants within allocated areas or specialisms.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the music/creative landscape and issues affecting your allocated areas.
• Provide telephone, online (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, webinars) and email advice to potential applicants.
• Assess grant applications.
• Make recommendations to the assessment panel.
• Efficient and effective turnaround of grants administration, primarily through our grants databases (Salesforce and Grant Tracker).
• Ensure data in the grants database is accurate and up-to-date, and support with data input, analysis and cleansing.
• Review grant requirements and ensure quick processing of payments.
• Undertake visits to funded projects and attend events.
• Provide advice and feedback to successful and unsuccessful applicants.
• Support the running and facilitation of events.
• Contribute to the improvement of Youth Music’s funding processes and procedures in line with the flexible funding principles we’re committed to.
• Provide support to others in the wider Youth Music team.

Learning and Projects

• Undertake project-based tasks as part of wider team or organisational project work.
• Specialist knowledge about assigned areas of Youth Music’s work or operations and produce relevant outputs to help us and others to learn and develop.
• Produce resources and content for the Youth Music community.
• Present information and learning to internal and external colleagues.

General

• Carry out all such additional duties as are reasonably commensurate with the role.

Person Specification

• Experience of working or volunteering in music education, music industries, grants management, youth work or advocacy, education, or not-for-profit settings.
• Familiarity with the funding process.
• Experience of working in an administrative role.

• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Teams and Office (in particular Outlook, Excel and Word). 
• Organisational and administrative skills, able to prioritise and work to deadlines.

Governance Manager (12-months maternity cover)

About the role

This is an exciting time to join Emmaus UK and provide maternity cover for our Governance Manager.

This standalone role is responsible for managing the operations of the board and committees of Emmaus UK, as well as for providing support to local boards at Emmaus communities across Great Britain as they look to develop their governance arrangements.

The postholder will manage the board of trustees, leading on recruitment, induction and compliance, ensuring meetings run smoothly and are minuted effectively. They will also work as company secretary, managing the smooth-running of the AGM, and ensuring returns are made to Companies House and the Charity Commission within appropriate timeframes.

The Governance Manager is responsible for monitoring the development of policies, tracking completion and working with managers to continuously improve policies in line with changing regulation.

The role will also involve extensive work with members of the Emmaus movement, through the performance of reviews of local governance of members, reporting back to local boards on areas to celebrate and actions to develop. They will also be responsible for developing Emmaus UK’s best practice toolkit for trustees to refer to in developing their local governance arrangements, and for liaising with the wider Emmaus movement through facilitation of the membership processes with Emmaus Europe and Emmaus International.

Emmaus UK Governance

• Manage the board of trustees, leading on recruitment, delivering a comprehensive and appropriate induction, dealing with enquiries, maintaining declarations of interest, skills audit and eligibility forms and ensuring all details are up to date and accurate.
• Act as company secretary for Emmaus UK, leading on the preparation for and delivery of the Annual General Meeting, filing required returns, developing documents associated with membership, and ensuring the charity is compliant with relevant charity and company law.

​Board and Committee Meetings

• Coordinate board meetings including organising venues, liaison with the relevant secretary and chairs in creating agendas, preparing and distributing papers and taking and circulating accurate minutes
• Oversee the smooth-running of committee meetings in conjunction with the admin team, including creation of the annual calendar.
• Ensure all follow up actions are coordinated, and ongoing rolling actions logs are maintained and appropriately shared with the Emmaus UK staff team.

Emmaus UK Governance Development

• Lead on governance projects within Emmaus UK, including but not limited to risk, policy management and internal governance reviews, reporting to the Board and subcommittees as appropriate.
• Provide governance advice and support to staff members on an ad hoc basis.
• Monitor all internal policies and procedures ensuring they are fit for purpose and kept under review by the relevant staff members.

​Federation Governance

• Lead on reviews of members’ local governance arrangements, scheduling, undertaking analysis, reviewing documentation, collating responses from members and observations from Emmaus UK Senior Leadership Team members, and reporting to local boards on findings and Emmaus UK’s Audit & Risk Committee on emerging themes.
• Provide guidance for federation members on governance development through ad hoc advice, the production of governance toolkits and supporting resources.
• Facilitate the membership processes and requirements for Emmaus Europe and Emmaus International, supporting transitioning members and contributing to movement-wide events such as the World and Regional Assemblies, international visits and exchange programmes.

About the role

This is a client-facing role wherebusiness development and sales will be your priority. You will take the lead in identifying new consultancy opportunities and corporate partnerships, building a healthy pipeline of prospects, and converting them through compelling proposals and winning pitches. You’ll also manage and grow our sponsorship and advertising income, developing creative packages that connect businesses with our audiences.
