About the role

We are looking for an exceptional individual fundraiser to join the Philanthropy team at King’s College London, leading on fundraising for The Dickson Poon School of Law.

This role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major gift prospects, securing and stewarding significant philanthropic gifts at the £50k to £5 million gift level, supporting senior stakeholders with their fundraising efforts, and championing the work and priorities of King’s and the Dickson Poon School of Law.

The team will play a crucial role in the delivery of the University’s ambition to significantly scale philanthropic income for faculties, as we prepare to launch our next major fundraising campaign in 2027 and mark the university’s bicentenary in 2029.

We will build on our already successful fundraising to achieve ambitious new goals for philanthropy – creating strong partnerships across campus and with donors, to realise shared priorities and deliver strategic impact.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with academic and professional service colleagues across King’s to secure significant philanthropic income to support student outcomes and drive world-leading teaching and research.

The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London is one of the oldest law schools in England. The School’s research and teaching address some of the most pressing questions of our time relating to equality and human rights, the legal implications of climate change, globalisation, international relations, trade, competition and global finance, to name but a few. Members of The Dickson Poon School of Law advise governments, serve on commissions and public bodies and are seconded to national and international organisations, helping to shape policy and practice nationally and internationally.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we’re very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.

Role Summary

The Programme officer role is a key component of a CEC wide initiative to ensure that national objectives and strategies are aligned across the business and implemented effectively and consistently across our Career Hubs infrastructure.

A key priority for this role will be supporting CEC’s and the government’s ambition for a new work experience guarantee to ensure that all pupils participate in 2 weeks’ worth of work experience by the time they leave year 11. The role will support specific programmes, pilots and activities that will be rolled out across Careers Hubs.

This role will play a key part in supporting the implementation of the programmatic strategy for Work Experience as well as other strands of work. It will support in helping to translate national initiatives and policy aligned with our strategic priorities into operational programmes delivered through our Network of Career Hubs. Priorities and programmes may change and flex over time but work experience will remain a priority theme.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a natural collaborator, a strong communicator and have strong organizational skills, and some function knowledge of our priorities.

Within this role we would also offer a development opportunity for post holders not currently qualified in project management. Such employees would be offered the Associate project manager (level 4) apprenticeship, which is an 18-month development programme. This exciting and varied role offers the opportunity to facilitate the music aspects of Methodist worship renewal across The Connexion. High-quality music is central to Methodist worship and this role will combine a significant amount of resource development, hands-on training and delivery online and in local circuits and Districts.

About The Role

As a Grants and Learning Officer, you’ll be helping us to deliver our ambitious, nationwide grants programme. We currently support over 500 grassroots organisations and 18-30 year old creatives, and have a busy grants cycle to manage, alongside ever-increasing numbers of applications. 

This year, we’re building and migrating to a new grants database and you’ll play an integral role on the project team. In addition, you’ll manage an assigned portfolio of grants, and help with all aspects of the funding cycle. You’ll support applicants and funded partners, make funding recommendations, administer grants, provide feedback and support, and visit projects.

Governance Manager (12-months maternity cover)

About the role

This is an exciting time to join Emmaus UK and provide maternity cover for our Governance Manager.

This standalone role is responsible for managing the operations of the board and committees of Emmaus UK, as well as for providing support to local boards at Emmaus communities across Great Britain as they look to develop their governance arrangements.

The postholder will manage the board of trustees, leading on recruitment, induction and compliance, ensuring meetings run smoothly and are minuted effectively. They will also work as company secretary, managing the smooth-running of the AGM, and ensuring returns are made to Companies House and the Charity Commission within appropriate timeframes.

The Governance Manager is responsible for monitoring the development of policies, tracking completion and working with managers to continuously improve policies in line with changing regulation.

The role will also involve extensive work with members of the Emmaus movement, through the performance of reviews of local governance of members, reporting back to local boards on areas to celebrate and actions to develop. They will also be responsible for developing Emmaus UK’s best practice toolkit for trustees to refer to in developing their local governance arrangements, and for liaising with the wider Emmaus movement through facilitation of the membership processes with Emmaus Europe and Emmaus International.

• Manage the board of trustees, leading on recruitment, delivering a comprehensive and appropriate induction, dealing with enquiries, maintaining declarations of interest, skills audit and eligibility forms and ensuring all details are up to date and accurate.

This is one of the most important roles within Shine Cancer Support. You’ll be overseeing and supporting Shine’s volunteers around the country, ensuring that they have what they need to reach as many young adults with cancer as possible. You’ll also work closely with Shine’s Programme Delivery Manager to deliver training and support programmes directly to young adults with cancer and healthcare professionals.

Location:  Hybrid, with two days per week at Shine’s offices in Blackheath, South East London or in Poole, Dorset.

Key responsibilities

Volunteer Support

• Support Shine’s volunteer Network Leaders across England, Scotland and Wales to develop their Shine Networks, ensuring that they provide the best possible support to young adults with cancer. This will include an annual support plan, developing and testing new ways of expanding Shine’s reach, and regular catch-up calls. 

• Work with Shine staff and facilitators to recruit, train and support new volunteers from across the UK.

About the role
The purpose of this role is to drive policy development across our policy priority areas. The Policy Officer will lead on specific policy projects, commissioning research, developing policy positions, and producing reports and consultation responses.  

This role will cover a broad range of issues across one of our strategic goals – prevention and diagnosis; access to treatment; and living well with arthritis. Our approach considers the needs of people of all ages who have arthritis.
