The Association of Teachers of Singing (AOTOS) are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Officer to support our financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and help us continue our work effectively and transparently.

AOTOS is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) dedicated to supporting and developing voice teachers and singers across the UK working in all styles of music. We run workshops, conferences, and outreach programmes to advance vocal education. We are a volunteer run organisation, supported by a part time freelance administrator in addition to this role. 

About the Role
This freelance, part time role offers flexible, remote working, with occasional requirement for attendance at in person meetings. Hours may vary according to our activities, with a typical requirement of 4 to 6 hours per week. Reporting to our Secretary, as our Finance Officer you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing income and expenditure, preparing reports for trustees, and assisting with the financial reporting obligations required of a UK charity. This is a vital role supporting the operational integrity of the organisation and enabling us to meet our charitable objectives.

About You
You will have proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a non-profit setting with a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accountancy principles. You will be detail-oriented and flexible, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage your workload independently. If you also share our passion for music, that's a bonus.

Key Responsibilities

• Record all financial transactions in QuickBooksOnline and maintain budget and reporting spreadsheets
• Reconcile bank and PayPal, Stripe and GoCardless accounts monthly
• Process invoices, expense claims, and payments
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the trustees
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and year-end accounts including for the Trustees Annual Report
• Process GiftAid claims through HMRC
• Ensure compliance with Charity Commission financial regulations
• Liaise with external accountants or independent examiners as required
• Maintain accurate and accessible financial records for audit purposes
• Support financial tracking of restricted/unrestricted funds and programme budgets
• Provide occasional ad hoc financial information to trustees and subcommittees

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within a charity or nonprofit setting
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, particularly for UK charities
• Proficiency with bookkeeping software (e.g.QuickBooks and Excel/Google Sheets)
• Familiarity with financial compliance for CIOs and Charity Commission reporting
• Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and workload independently

Desirable Skills and Experience

• AAT qualification or similar accounting certification
• Experience with Gift Aid reporting

Role Purpose

The Role will be responsible for the entry and review of financial transactions from various sources including purchase invoices, payment cards and bank transactions. 

The organisation has grown from managing 8 entities three years ago to 22 at present. We have 41 accounts across 5 different banking institutions (in both USD and GBP) and multiple credit/debit cards. You will need to be adaptable with an open mindset and able to work with uncertainty and change.

We have recently implemented new accounting software (Iplicit) to better manage the multiple entities in our portfolio.  This role will act as a key part of the finance function now the new system is live.

Responsibilities

Initial Duties: 

• Processing urgent same day rent payments 

• Processing of purchase ledger transactions (including VAT entries) for 22 legal entities, in multi-currency, ensuring accurate re-allocation to other entities where appropriate

• Preparation of supplier payment runs for approval

• Completing bank statement imports and reconciliations

• Responding to internal and external queries regarding purchase transactions and payments 

• Other administration & support as required by our Central team (including People, Digital, Business Development & Impact) 

• Review and processing of employee expense transactions 

• Creating regular Inter-company recharge invoices for batches of transactions

National Numeracy supports volunteers from our corporate partners to deliver sessions in primary schools
that inspire children to see the value of maths in the real world. The Programme enables volunteers to
directly support communities with low number confidence and skills, celebrating everyday maths, and

The new Programmes Assistant will work with the Volunteering Manager and wider Programmes Team to

Clinical research is an essential element in ensuring new treatments are rapidly and safely translated to clinical use to transform the lives of people with cystic fibrosis. Nine years ago, the Trust set up an ambitious programme of work to broaden the reach of trials to all people with cystic fibrosis in the UK, the Clinical Trials Accelerator Platform (CTAP). CTAP is a national cystic fibrosis clinical trials network which has created the infrastructure (network of CTAP centres) and funded additional research capacity (trial coordinators) to support NHS Cystic Fibrosis centres to grow their clinical trial portfolio. This in turn has increased the number of clinical trial opportunities for the UK CF community, and improved access to the newest therapies for people living with cystic fibrosis. 
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Network Coordinator to join the CTAP coordinating team as maternity cover. The postholder will oversee the coordination of the four CTAP regional clinical trial networks which sit within the main CTAP programme. This role will play an important role in overseeing the smooth running of the CTAP regional networks in addition to providing support and guidance relating to the referral of patients for clinical trial participation. 
 
To be the right candidate, you will:

• Have experience of working within the area of clinical trials in some capacity for the NHS, a university, research funder or a commercial sponsor

? Qualifications:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant area (occupational therapy, specific area of provision)
• Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT)
• Evidence of post-graduate training in relevant specialisms (e.g. sensory integration, mental health, handwriting)

? Experience:

• Significant post-qualification OT experience, particularly in mainstream school settings
• Experience supporting children and young people with complex needs, including learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Conditions
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Experience delivering training and consultancy to parents and school staff

If you offer experience of working in health and social care support services and want to develop and lead a service that supports vulnerable women, this is a rewarding opportunity to join GamCare’s Women’s Pathway in Northern Ireland.

The Role

GamCare’s Women’s Pathway aims to reduce the harm women experience from gambling, either from their own gambling or the gambling of someone else. We offer support groups, awareness raising information and tools, and accredited training for professionals.

As Service Team Leader you will launch the support service in Northern Ireland and oversee its day-to-day delivery, providing interventions, alongside leading on operational planning and participating in performance improvements, partnerships, and business growth.

Alongside service delivery, you will develop innovative ways to listen to and support women experiencing gambling harm. You will incorporate the opinions of women with lived experience of gambling harm into current and any new service design and delivery to ensure the support is responsive to the needs of women.

About You 

You will need a relevant professional qualification or experience in psychology, mental health, social work, nursing, health and social care, public health, with excellent leadership and people management skills.

The ability to manage competing demands, adapting plans to meet emerging needs and priorities is equally important.

You will have demonstrable experience of case management for clients with varying needs who are seeking a change in behaviour. You will also be confident in identifying and recommending opportunities for continuous service improvement and expanding the reach and impact of the service.
