 We are seeking a passionate and skilled Communications Officer to play a key role in enhancing both our internal communications and engagement with our network of youth organisations. Key responsibilities

Network Communications

• Develop and deliver engaging content for newsletters, emails, and online platforms to keep our network of youth organisations informed and engaged 

• Develop and deliver engaging communications of our programmatic work, along with the creation of communication plans in partnership with our Network Delivery team

• Create compelling stories and case studies that highlight the impact of our work and the achievements of our partners 

• Manage and update communication materials and resources for youth organisations 

• Support in the planning and execution of events, webinars, and campaigns that connect and inspire our network 

• Work with the Communications Manager and Marketing Manager to identify opportunities and case studies for other external audiences

• Understanding of the use various communication methods and channels

• Excellent copy writing skills, ensuring brand guidelines and tone of voice are consistent across all messaging

Internal Communications

• Support the development and delivery of internal communications strategies to ensure staff and key stakeholders are informed and aligned 

• Support CEO with all across organisation communications

• Write and edit internal newsletters, updates, and key messages

• Work closely with different teams to gather and share insights, success stories, and key initiatives

• Develop and manage internal communication platforms and explore innovative ways to enhance engagement. 

Experience

•  At least two years’ experience in communications, marketing, PR, or a related field, ideally within a charity, non-profit, or purpose-driven organisation.

• Experience in writing and creating engaging content for different audiences across newsletters, emails, websites, and social media.

• Familiarity with both internal and external communications, including staff engagement, stakeholder messaging, and storytelling.

• Experience using digital communication tools such as email marketing platforms, CMS, or social media scheduling tools.

• Exposure to event coordination, campaign support, or content creation for events/webinars.

• Experience managing communication materials and ensuring consistency in messaging and branding.

• Lead on storytelling initiatives that amplify young people’s voices and highlight the real-world impact of UK Youth’s work. 

• Work collaboratively with the marketing team to align messaging across digital and traditional channels. 

 Advocacy & Influence

Experience

Main duties of the job

With the ultimate objective being to grow SSAFA’s presence, profile, and identity, the role is responsible for all marcomms activation in the region. The role holder will work to deliver the central Fundraising, Marketing & Communications strategy.

This role reports to the Senior Storytelling Manager with close alignment with colleagues across the marcomms directorate. The marcomms manager will be responsible for managing marketing campaigns in the South East and London Region of England and promoting SSAFA’s fundraising initiatives and services. You’ll identify the areas of greatest impact and cut through, deliver integrated awareness campaigns and secure media coverage of fundraising events. Crucially, you’ll be able to identify stories which resonate with our target audience and write calls to action.

With a heavy focus on media and PR activity, key to the role is building strong relationships and contacts with relevant stakeholders in your region including media representatives, employees, volunteers, and case study beneficiaries.

About the team

The Evidence Synthesis Manager is a crucial role at the College as you will lead on the project management, delivery and undertaking of existing or new systematic reviews, helping to ensure that the RCPCH continues to lead the way in children’s health.

As Evidence Synthesis Manager you will lead on the development of systematic review protocols, including search strategies and inclusion criteria, in liaison with key stakeholders, whilst providing technical expertise and training on evidence-based methodologies (e.g. critical appraisal, search strategy development), for clinicians, staff and members of guideline development groups.

Reporting to the Head of Research and Evidence, you will lead on reviewing and critically evaluating a variety of evidence to support systematic reviews, ensuring that RCPCH internal procedures and regulated methodological requirements are being followed.

Taking responsibility for Quality Assuring the findings of systematic review outputs which are communicated to, implemented and published by the Child Protection Sub-Committee and relevant clinical leads, you will work with the relevant stakeholders to produce communication plans, promoting and disseminating findings from guidelines and systematic reviews.

You will also be expected to regularly contribute to journal articles within the field of paediatric research.

Suitably qualified with a research methodology element or with equivalent work experience, you should have proven technical expertise in systematic review methodology and critical appraisal of studies and have a background of working with clinicians or academics in the NHS or a similar regulated environment.

With demonstrable knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including clinical guidelines, you will be able to provide training and support in critical appraisal skills and/or data extraction processes.

You should be able to assimilate and report complex medical information on child health research quickly and clearly to different audiences, whilst also having strong writing skills and experience of writing reports of a medical or scientific nature or having published or co-authored in academic publications.

The ability to undertake research of highly sensitive topics - this will involve being exposed to research into issues relating to child protection - is essential.

A project management qualification and experience of evaluation methodologies would be desirable. Familiarity with clinical guideline development methodology along with familiarity with carrying out statistical analysis using SPSS, STATA and/or Review Manager would also be desirable.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. The 2021 Census shows that around 36% of Camden’s households are now made up of private renters, and in the Haverstock and Primrose Hill wards, where this project will operate, it’s 27% and 35% respectively. This group of residents is often unaware of what services are out there to help them, where they are located, and how they access them.

This new role has been created to outreach and engage with private renters in the 2 wards specified and it will also include information production, dissemination and project management work. The worker will set up the project and is the key person in ensuring the smooth delivery of it in line with its stated aims and objectives.

Please note: You will need to be based in/around London for this role as it involves work within specific locations in the London Borough of Camden and is not suitable for home working or long distance travelling.

Project management:

1. To plan and deliver the project to all agreed deadlines, milestones and targets

2. To manage the project budget in liaison with CFPT’s Assistant Organiser

3. To gather and record all relevant data and statistics relating to the project

4. To monitor the performance of the project using the methods, format and frequency agreed with the funder

5. To prepare project update reports for CFPT’s Management Committee as and when required

6. To prepare annual project update reports as required by the funder

Relationship building:

1. To identify and build relationships with key contacts e.g. ward councillors, Council staff, and other relevant individuals and groups/organisations

Engaging:

1. To creatively engage with a wide variety of private renters (focussing particularly on the more vulnerable and socially isolated ones) in different locations and settings across the 2 wards to ensure they are aware of the range of local services available to them

Participating:

1. To promote and raise awareness of the project both online and through organising meetings, events and activities in the wards

2. To increase participation in the project both online and through organising meetings, events and activities in the wards

3. To publicise the project and private renters’ issues through the different media and other communication channels

Informing, empowering and supporting:

1. To identify the information, support and other needs of private renters to enable them to effectively engage with their landlord and/or agent and other organisations

2. To help and support tenants to advocate on behalf of themselves, and when required, to advocate on their behalf with the landlord and/or agent regarding individual problems and issues.

Project sustainability:

1. To have an awareness any relevant developments (internal/external) which could impact on work of the project

2. To assist CFPT’s Organiser to identify and make applications to funders to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project, if this is required

Other:

The post holder must undertake:

1. To attend some evening meetings and work occasional weekends

The Early Intervention Practitioners will provide preventative, early intervention support to children, young people and their families in primary schools in Runnymede, Waverley and Surrey Heath, through delivering a range of evidence-based interventions to enable each young person to realise their potential, cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively and fruitfully within their school, and make a positive contribution within their community.

Responsibilities

Design, deliver and review evidence-based interventions for children and young people which aim to improve mental health and well-being and build on existing strengths

· Assess the needs and strengths of the referred young person and help them to identify individual goals to achieve desired change (Goals Based Outcome Assessments)

· Provide support to young people facing a wide range of issues, in both one to one and group settings to address emerging needs and help build resilience, develop coping strategies and improve their mental health & wellbeing

· Provide advice, guidance and signposting through a range of activities, to young people and their families, that will connect them to resources that will support young people’s wellbeing

· Gain input from and provide input to parents and carers regarding the support offered to their children and young people, recognising the valuable role they play in their child’s wellbeing

· ​To operate at all times from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity and ensures all work is sensitive to a range of ethnic, cultural and religious groups, is gender sensitive and anti-discriminatory

Develop and maintain relationships with key school staff in primary schools and Schools Based Needs Team

· Work collaboratively with pastoral staff in school, Surrey Wellbeing Partners, Surrey and Borders NHS Partnership, Surrey Children’s Services, local Mental Health Support Teams and other community-based services to provide the most effective service for children, young people and families

· Ensure that children and young people with more intensive support needs are put in touch with relevant Intensive Intervention services (whilst continuing to provide support until the intensive support is in place)​

Impact, Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting

· To record accurately individual engagement and evidence of change using appropriate outcomes data to ensure support programmes can be accurately monitored and evaluated

· To record all activities and administration associated with support provided to a child/young person

· To collect and share case studies that demonstrate good practice and the impact of interventions on outcomes for children and young people

· Work with colleagues and line manager to ensure that your work is aligned to organisational strategy, key objectives and annual plans and budgets

We are recruiting for Floating Support Worker who will support the Ascent Pan London Service in building sustainable referral pathways and joint working protocols with a range of partners working with survivors of domestic abuse

You will provide capacity-building in the form of advice, advocacy, support, and briefings across the London boroughs to statutory agencies and community organizations around the needs of Eastern European domestic abuse survivors, to embed best practice across our communities. 

It is desirable for candidates to be proficient in one or more Eastern European languages.

You will have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to women as well as up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to survivors of gender-based violence. You will have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and be a proactive team player. All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the feminist values of empowerment and equality which underpin all of our work. 

The post holder will provide a high-quality personal welfare support service to Eastern European survivors of domestic abuse and other forms of violence and abuse and their children. The post holder will empower Eastern European survivors by providing them with emotional and practical support, including support to access safe accommodation.
