About the role:

As our Finance Manager you will be at the heart of the charity’s operations and play a vital role in helping to achieve our strategic objectives. Working closely with the Director of Operations and CEO, your role and expertise will be pivotal in driving excellence and integrity in financial management and strategic financial decision-making.

Your responsibilities will be to lead the entire financial lifecycle, from budgeting and forecasting, to the delivery of WellChild’s audit and the production of the charity’s Annual Report & Accounts to the appropriate standards.

What are we looking for:

You will be a qualified accountant with a proven track record of financial management and a solid understanding of charity accounting (including SORP and Charity VAT) and statutory accounts preparation. You will have strong analytical skills, a strong attention to detail, and be able to demonstrate both operational and strategic thinking.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the charity to support robust financial governance and ensure transparency in the management of financial operations. Your ability to interpret, analyse and communicate financial data will be key in informing decision-making and presenting clear, accessible reports to a range of stakeholders, including trustees and funders.

You will be confident using financial systems and tools such as Sage 50, Excel, and spreadsheets, and will consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you will be able to work independently while upholding the values and integrity of the organisation.

As the main finance role for the charity (supported by the Operations Team) you will be an excellent communicator, an emotionally intelligent and diligent team player who takes pride in their work and enjoys a diverse workload.

The role

Effective financial management is central to our strategy and operating model. The Finance Manager will be crucial in determining how we manage our finances, resources and operations whilst embedding a culture of financial efficiency and effective controls.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Finance will lead on financial matters and be expected to provide critical financial information, insightful analysis and timely reporting to facilitate the growth of the Charity.

The role is standalone but working within a closeknit team. It with therefore have a degree of autonomy but will be expected to contribute to the wider development of the Charity. This is a pivotal appointment within the Charity and will provide some broad exposure to the Board and Investment Committee.

We are therefore seeking a dynamic qualified accountant who has had wide exposure to financial reporting and processes, preferably within a fundraising Charity. Being a financial ‘all rounder’, there is a real opportunity to contribute to the way the Charity operates by instilling sound financial operations and providing meaningful financial reporting. The role provides an opportunity to lead the finance function and will suit a progressive accountant looking for this kind of responsibility.

We would therefore be looking for an individual that has demonstrable experience in operating financial functions and has the personality to fit within a charity that works collaboratively. 

The Head of Corporate Development will create and implement a Corporate Fundraising strategy to secure, grow and sustain partnerships with the corporate sector that deliver income and impact. This role will inspire and lead a team of 12 to generate over £6m each year and to create shared value partnerships that support the NT’s strategic objectives.

This is an opportunity to play a crucial role in the growth and diversification of an already strong portfolio of partnerships. With the breadth of the NT’s work and future ambition, there is exciting opportunity to create wide ranging partnerships.

The selected candidate will have a personal track record in fundraising and ideally working with senior colleagues to secure significant gifts of £500,000 or more. You will have demonstrable success in stewardship and a successful track record of developing and maintaining a network of contacts. Ideally, the best person for this job will have proven experience of managing complex and nuanced donor relationships which require a bespoke approach and a high level of judgment.

The Finance department operates as a shared service across multiple entities, supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring financial sustainability. The Job

This is a senior interim leadership role within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function. As Deputy Head of FP&A (Finance Business Partnering), you will:

• Lead a team of five Finance Business Partners, ensuring consistent and high-quality financial support across the organisation

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a commercially-driven professional to lead the charity’s efforts to explore, test and grow new income-generating products and services that align with their mission and values.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. The Head of Commercial will play a central role in this growth, helping Hearing Dogs deliver their goals to diversify income and expand their philanthropic and commercial programmes.

The position of Head of Commercial is a strategic role within the new team, looking beyond traditional fundraising and identifying commercially viable opportunities that can deliver both financial return and social impact, whilst aligning with the charity’s mission and values. Working across departments within the organisation, the post-holder will seek and assess the viability of areas of work for commercial income generation, developing pilot projects and reviewing existing commercial activity at Hearing Dogs, as well as the actions required to increase profitability.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in commercial development, business planning or innovation in a charity, social enterprise or private sector organisation. They will also have demonstrable success in scoping new products or services and developing robust business cases. Strong commercial acumen will be a must, alongside a strategic mindset and an entrepreneurial approach. Finally, they will possess excellent analytical, financial modelling and project management skills, as well as being a confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders and make the case for investment.
