You’ll oversee the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring Oak’s financial systems and reporting are accurate, efficient, and aligned with our obligations as an Arm’s Length Body of the Department for Education. You’ll lead the production of insightful management accounts, support audits and statutory reporting, and champion best practice in financial stewardship.

�� What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage the day-to-day finance processes, fostering a culture of development and high standards. Ensure regularity, propriety, and effective stewardship, in line with the Nolan Principles of Public Life and the standards outlined in Managing Public Money.

• Lead the continuous improvement of Oak’s finance operations and systems

• Lead the production of monthly management accounts and board reporting packs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and insight.

• Oversee monthly reconciliations, journal reviews, and payroll checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Ensure timely and accurate financial information is available to support decision-making, audits, and annual reporting.

• Deputise for the Head of Finance and take on other general responsibilities as required.

�� What We’re Looking For

• Accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or demonstrable equivalent experience in financial management and reporting.

• Experience managing finance processes, with a track record of ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

• Able to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, and work independently to identify and act on opportunities or solve problems.

• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including experience building financial models to support effective decision-making.

• You will be comfortable working at pace, with a range of digital systems (including proprietary ones as required) and you will continuously look at ways that the team can keep getting better. You will be excellent at working as part of a remote team, building relationships and managing your time effectively.

The Community Engagement Officer is an essential role in fostering strong relationships with current and prospective members of the School Library Association community. The postholder will provide frontline support, drive online and in person engagement through outreach initiatives, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the membership base. About the Sickle Cell Society (SCS)

The Sickle Cell Society (SCS) is the only national charity in the UK that supports and represents people affected by a sickle cell disorder. We provide information, advice and support to enable people to improve their overall quality of life. To assist the Fundraising Manager in the delivery of the Sickle Cell Society’s (SCS) Fundraising Strategy and on-going development to achieve its fundraising priorities and targets. Responsible for helping the team meet our agreed income targets for celebratory giving, challenge events, community fundraising and corporate payroll giving initiatives.; the post-holder will be keen on developing their Fundraising career and interested in expanding their use of CRM databases, data management and the production of reports for effective donor stewardship.

You will be responsible for the membership and donors’ database (Beacon) keeping up to date and reporting back on results, whilst ensuring data compliance and implementation of data. You will be highly proficient in the use of business IT systems in particular Microsoft Excel to analyse data, and you will also have at least one year’s experience, or equivalent, in producing detailed and insightful reports.

For the past decade, we have been investigating the UK’s ‘Prevent’ counter-extremism programme, including how it impacts minoritised children in schools, British Muslims and neurodivergent people.

We are looking for someone with a broad skill set ranging from research and analysis to outreach and networking. You will help us build or join advocacy networks among national and local UK groups, support our litigation and freedom-of-information requests on Prevent, and investigate possible harms.

You may also contribute to our other projects, such as our work on migrants’ rights.

The initial contract will be for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal.

· Review draft UK legislation to find any potential racial justice consequences, and develop ideas for better approaches.

The Principal Gifts Fundraiser is responsible for securing new six and seven figure gifts from individuals to grow our portfolio of major donors.  Responsible for prospecting and cultivating new philanthropic relationships through 121 engagement and through events, developing compelling propositions that drive transformational funding to our strategic programmes of work.  This role maximises income generation and philanthropic engagement to deliver against our strategic objectives and ambitious income targets.

Role responsibilities

· Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and nurture connections with potential donors that secure six and seven-figure gifts in support of Trussell’s mission and strategic priorities, maintaining a healthy pipeline and accurate records on Salesforce.
