Mass Participation Events Manager

Purpose of the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join an evolving and growing fundraising team with a new, ambitious strategy for income generation that the whole charity, senior management and Trustees are right behind.

The role itself is new as Cerebra looks to invest in and significantly grow and develop a new mass participation events programme (which includes schools fundraising products). You’ll work closely with the Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications who has a strong background in events and community fundraising.

You will lead the development of virtual/digital fundraising events, challenge/3rd party events, in-person owned events, DIY events and our relationships with schools. In time, you will build and foster relationships with other community organisations. You will be responsible for growing the team as the programme expands.  Innovation and product development are key areas of work.

You will play key role in the Fundraising Marketing & Communications directorate and developing our fundraising, audience and supporter engagement strategy.

This is a challenging but well-supported role, where you can make a large, career-defining impact on Cerebra and the children and families that we serve.

Overall budgetary responsibility is approximately £295k of income for 2026, with considerable scope and ambition for improvement.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

1. New events programme

• Develop a multi-year events programme incorporating virtual/digital events, challenge/3rd party events, in-person own events and DIY.
• Project manage the delivery of the events in the programme to raise £295k in 2026.
• Develop multi-channel marketing plans for recruitment, focusing on key audiences.
• Develop multi-channel supporter journeys and top-class supporter experience to deepen engagement and increase income.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on income, expenditure, and supporter acquisition across the events programme and make decisions about where to invest time and resources, accordingly.
• Develop necessary assets, such as fundraising packs. Digital platforms, digital rewards and supporter groups.
• Work with the Corporate & Philanthropy Manager to offer events fundraising to corporate partners.

2. Innovation and product development

• Use data and insights to understand audiences and to innovate and develop new events from prototype and MVP onwards.
• Proactively research and identify opportunities to grow the portfolio, monitoring the market and sector trends and how they could be implemented at Cerebra.
• Constantly seek to iterate and improve events in all areas including marketing, supporter experience, delivery and fundraising.
• Create business cases and plans for each new event.
• Own and grow Cerebra’s own mass participation flagship event “Relay Your Way”.

3. Schools and community groups

• Develop a plan and products to engage schools with Cerebra fundraising.
• Work with the Marketing & Communications team to develop materials to support schools fundraising.
• Work with the Marketing & Communications and Contact Centre teams to recruit schools to take part in fundraising for Cerebra.
• Monitor and evaluate to scale successful schools fundraising products.
• Take learnings from schools fundraising to apply to other groups and organisations.

4. Culture & relationships

• Work to continue the development of a strong, person-centred, empathetic, supportive and inclusive culture at Cerebra.
• Build on excellent relationships between different teams and directorates for each teams’s and Cerebra’s overall strategic goals and objectives.
• Collaborate across departments to align partner activity with service delivery and communications.
• Contribute to strategic, organisational and cultural development.
• Champion innovation, growth mindset and learning from failure.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, partners and suppliers to ensure the best outcomes for Cerebra.

5. Budgeting, monitoring and forecasting

• Working with the team and Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications to set income and expenditure budgets for Events and Community.
• Monitoring and reporting on income and expenditure and KPIs throughout the year.
• Providing quarterly income and expenditure re-forecasts.
• Ensuring all relevant information is recorded in line with charity, fundraising and data legislation and best practice.

6. Line Management

• Carry out recruitment within the team in line with Cerebra’s practices and values.
• Provide effective, remote line management, support and performance management to direct reports to help them maximise their potential and effectiveness.
• Provide practical and person-centred coaching support to direct reports.
• Ensure there is a continual focus on learning and development and wellbeing.

Working within the Individual Giving team, you’ll have a varied role managing and supporting the delivery of supporter-centric fundraising appeals which will recruit, retain and/or develop supporters across the cause-led, gaming, in memory and legacy programmes. Job Description

Job purpose: To lead and develop Remember A Charity’s marketing and communications programme, in line with our core mission of making legacy giving a social norm. This core focus of the role is on growing and engaging our audiences across the charity sector (members and non-members) and professional adviser communities (solicitors, Will-writers, wealth advisers).

The Marketing Manager will also contribute to the development of our consumer PR, marketing and digital programmes, led by the Director and Digital Communications Manager respectively.

This role would suit a confident and creative individual who is enthused by the opportunity of helping charities across the UK to grow and develop their long-term income. The successful candidate will work closely with the campaign’s members, professional advisers and, of course, colleagues within Remember A Charity and the wider CIOF.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of marketing activities targeting charity sector and professional adviser audiences, aligned with organisational strategy and KPIs.
• Develop and deliver communications for charity members and Campaign Supporters.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues and external agencies to support the execution of consumer-facing marketing and PR campaigns.
• Create compelling assets and resources to support recruitment, engagement, and retention of members and professional partners.
• Ensure external communications and creative outputs are consistent with the Remember A Charity brand.

Professional Advisers

• Responsibility for the marketing budget for professional advisers.
• Planning and delivery of marketing activity to grow our professional adviser network and maximise our impact, in line with our KPIs.
• Manage and grow the Campaign Supporter scheme for solicitors and Will-writers, delivering engaging communications and digital content that keeps charitable giving front of mind.
• Promote the importance of referencing the charitable option during Will-writing to professional advisers through events, direct marketing, social media, and advertising.
• Coordinate the campaign’s Legal Sector Advisory Group, organising quarterly meetings and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to engage wider professional audiences and influential groups within and beyond the legal sector, including but not limited to, wealth managers, Will-writing software providers, local government, regulatory and trade bodies (e.g. CILEX, CLC, NALP).
• Collaborate with CPD content providers to deliver training programmes on charitable Will-writing.
• Coordinate quarterly webinars for professional advisers on relevant Will-writing topics, working with internal and external partners.
• Create materials and promotional assets for professional advisers and campaign partners to equip them to advocate for legacies.

Consumers

• Contribute to the planning and delivery of consumer marketing and PR activity.
• Support members in making best use of the consumer-facing assets provided for them to use during Remember A Charity Week and beyond.
• Equip Campaign Supporters and Will-writing partners with resources to promote legacy giving during Remember A Charity Week and beyond.

All

• Collaborate with the team to review campaign activity and success measures against KPIs.
• Maintain and update website content for charity and professional adviser audiences.

About You

Experience & Skills

• Experience of planning and delivering successful marketing programmes.
• Knowledge of the UK charity sector and/or legal market.
• Experience working in a customer-facing environment or dealing with a wide range of members and stakeholders.
• Effective presentation and networking skills.
• Familiarity updating webpages and using simple web-based design / delivery tools such as Canva and Mailchimp.

As a Delivery Manager you will take delivery lead of one or more of our critical digital products (and the relevant part of the service journey). That could be further improving an existing digital product like the recently launched website, or designing and developing a new digital product as part of our digital roadmap.

As a Delivery Manager, your role is to support one or more skilled multidisciplinary teams to deliver value. Within the Fund context, this typically means accessible user-centred services supporting our grant-holders, staff and the communities they serve.

Your role encompasses three main areas of responsibility:

• Agile and lean practices - coaching your team(s) to maintain a delivery and learning focus, using appropriate techniques to help them benefit from being agile.
• Team health and happiness - encouraging and motivating your team(s), enabling them to focus on their core work. Building trust and managing team dynamics.
• Delivery support – this covers range of tasks: reporting progress; helping product managers develop roadmaps and backlogs; building stakeholder relationships; removing obstacles for your team(s) and keeping the team focussed on delivering value whilst balancing strong user centred design, budget and time.

While you are an expert in agile delivery and team dynamics, you’re also required to have a thorough understanding of the principles of product and service design, software development, user research, user experience and accessibility.

The role

We are looking for an experienced, proactive media professional to join our team during a crucial phase of Dignity in Dying’s campaign. We welcome applicants with a strong news-sense, political nous and a flair for story-telling who can use the media and other channels to effectively influence a range of audiences. At a pivotal time for the movement for choice at the end of life, the successful candidate will be a team-player who can communicate complex subject matter in compelling and creative ways, keep abreast of media and political trends, support the delivery of national and regional comms plans and champion the voices of terminally ill people and bereaved families - both inside and outside Parliament.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Campaigns and Communications team in monitoring, evaluating and securing media coverage, along with developing and rolling out campaign activities.
• Assist in the efficient running of the press office including responding to incoming media enquiries in a timely manner, drafting and issuing media comments, compiling spokesperson briefings, and building and maintaining media lists.
• Oversee our media monitoring and its timely dissemination to staff, stakeholders and supporters, identifying where reactive responses are necessary or where there are proactive opportunities.
• Use the media monitoring to understand different media outlets' tone and framing of the issue, how this can impact our messaging and influence further opportunities for the campaign.
• Act as key point of contact with relevant suppliers, i.e. media monitoring providers, to ensure efficiency and value for money, identifying and acting upon opportunities for improvement.

Working within the Central Services team, the Operations and Front of House Coordinator (OFOHC) plays an essential role in supporting the smooth-running and operational effectiveness of the Students’ Union (SU) and its Front of House.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE 

The Office Manager will be a key member of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group. This is a broad role working with a wide range of staff and contacts within and outside the group. The postholder will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring that our office space and facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and secure environment. They will have overall ownership of the office with regards to the day to day running and ensuring health and safety compliance, and with the support of their team. They will ensure our staff and clients are able to enjoy a safe and comfortable environment. They will be the main point of contact for I.T, Facilities and clients services across the group.

They will act as Site Safety Officer for the premises ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Procedures, as directed by the CEO.

The Office Manager will manage the Client Services Team including volunteers. This role will also oversee freelance interpreters working with Helen Bamber Foundation Group.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Facility Management: 

· Act as site manager ensuring that the office is in a state of operational readiness. This will include procuring and organising premises maintenance , cleaning services, communication systems and other support services as required to meet local needs.

· Responsible for local premises security and liaison with fire and police services and local alarm providers

· Managing local contractors, landlords, suppliers, and other agencies as necessary; identifying improvements and ensuring best value in procurement.

· Working effectively with the landlord’s facilities team in relation to building related issues and for any building repair and maintenance issues.

· Ensure that office equipment is operating effectively and efficiently and maintain a sufficient level of office furniture, resources, supplies and stationery

· Oversee and manage the documentation of minor repairs, renovations and decorations.

· Ensure core facilities like water and heating are maintained.

· Manage, monitor, and maintain the room bookings system for all users at the office.

Office Management and IT:

· Supervise and approve contracts and providers for services such as consumables, minor office renovations and cleaning.

· Lead in the procurement and ordering of office equipment and stationery, office and IT equipment and consumables in the most cost-effective manner.

· Track staff issues and requests about the building, office facilities, fixtures, and fittings, and ensure they are responded to in a timely manner.

· Act as a main point of contact for our outsourced IT support services supplier, providing onsite support for IT upgrades and installation of hardware and software

· Assist staff and volunteers across the group with local IT needs including set up for meetings and local diagnostics of minor IT issues

· Manage local IT assets and ensure the allocation or devices for new starters across the group and partnerships

· Conduct annual review in liaison with IT Support Service provider of the health of devices and carry out any necessary action as a result.

· Create, develop and maintain appropriate office administrative and business support systems, in conjunction with other teams to ensure consistency of systems and procedures across the service

· Financial Management:

· . Oversee the processes of petty cash payments, staff and client expense claims, invoices and other project related expenses

· Working with Finance to ensure accurate financial records are kept and compliance is achieved

· Work with the Finance team to ensure that invoices related to office and facility management are processed.

· Managing the group’s budgets for items such as stationery, refreshments, equipment, cleaning, and maintenance

· Managing monthly collation and processing of timesheets and associated paperwork for all freelance interpreters used by the Helen Bamber Foundation team, including interpreters’ timesheets and agencies invoices

· With the Finance team, organise weekly trips to the bank to get cash for client expenses for the Group, on occasion collecting the cash from the bank personally.

Health and Safety & Security: 

· Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures, in liaison with the Director of People and the CEO

· Act as Site Safety Officer (SSO) for the group, ensuring the office complies with all relevant health and safety and fire safety regulations and standards. 

· Oversee the health and safety responsibilities within the office premises, staying updated on changes in health and safety legislation.

· Review and maintain documentation of risk assessments, health and safety checks and fire evacuation plans.

· Ensure the office has on site first aid provision, designated trained first aiders and fire warden/s

· Organise the delivery of relevant H&S training such as first aid and fire marshal training

· Undertake weekly, monthly and annual checks and tests of office facilities including fire alarm sounder and panic alarm checks.

· Ensure staff across the group receive sufficient H&S inductions including the completion of relevant forms and documentations

· Ensuring all equipment and furniture is compliant with Health and Safety regulations at the office

· Ensure all employees are aware of all relevant health and safety office procedures.

· Ensure the office is kept clean, tidy, and free from hazards and maintain safe working conditions for all employees and clients.

SELECTION PROCESS

We will invite candidates to an initial 15-minute online screening meeting on either Wednesday 10th December or Thursday 11th December 2025 followed by shortlisted candidates attending in-person interview on Tuesday 16th December. We will also ask you to complete a short exercise on the day.

Oak National Academy is looking for an exceptional Head of People & Planning to join our leadership team on a maternity cover basis.

�� What You’ll Be Doing

• Establish and lead a people function within the planning team, building a sustainable HR capability, ensuring compliance, and enabling intelligent use of external HR expertise to support organisational needs.

• Responsible for all decisions relating to the performance and function of our internal and external governance (including communications, meetings and whole-org offsites).

• Maintain specialist expertise in the governance of non-departmental public bodies and be the authority across Oak and more widely across the sector.

About the Role

Working alongside the Managing Director, you will play a key role in supporting the day to day running of the BDD Foundation while leading on key projects during this three month cover period. The primary focus of this role will be to oversee and manage the Overcoming BDD Programme (OBP), ensuring effective delivery, volunteer support and supervision, and a high quality, compassionate experience for all participants.

In addition to the Overcoming BDD Programme, you will provide project management support across other core initiatives, including the Schools Project, Conference planning, and any additional projects that form part of the charity’s priorities during this period. You will work collaboratively with the team to maintain operational efficiency, uphold the charity’s values, and contribute to activities that extend our impact and support the BDD community.

This role also involves HR responsibilities, including overseeing the full employee life cycle of staff and volunteers, reviewing and updating charity policies, and managing any people or volunteer related queries or concerns. Knowledge and understanding of HR processes is desirable, but not essential - this can be discussed at interview or offer stage should it not already be part of your skillset.
