Operations Officer Wales

You will be working alongside a team of Operations Officers, supporting, inspiring and guiding DofE leaders to ensure a consistent and quality experience for the young people that they support. You’ll be managing a portfolio of existing partners in Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taff.

You will be home based, but there will be a mix of face to face and online interactions and, you will need to be prepared to travel across your patch. There may be meetings elsewhere in Wales, or across the UK, which you will be required to attend.

Whilst you won’t be working directly with young people, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are having a positive impact on their opportunities.

This role exists to maintain and develop the quality of data held on our fundraising database, Raiser’s Edge. This role is integral for the success of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home fundraising strategy.

The Role

What will I be doing?

• Create a powerful alliance of Corporate Partners to influence science strategies and investment in areas such as advanced sensing, photonics, quantum technologies, semiconductors, renewable energy, autonomous systems and medtech
• Secure long-term relationships by delivering impactful services that meet partners’ needs: working with cross-organisation teams to drive take up of IOP membership, professional registrations, thought leadership articles and access to publishing content
• Manage risks and ensure financial sustainability of the Corporate Partners Alliance

Projects you work on may include:

• Deliver annual series of leadership visits to Corporate Partners organisations to explore interests and common priorities around skills, R&D, infrastructure and business support
• Manage and deliver science insights and advocacy activities with Corporate Partners, via high-level meetings with senior stakeholders in government, industry, finance and academia
• Facilitate ideation workshops, prepare briefings and produce reports to develop new insights and seed new activities to support IOP and partner priorities

Who will I work with?

• Executive Directors and Chief Technology Officers in large R&D intensive businesses
• IOP leadership and cross-organisational teams including our publishing company
• Closely with IOP Associate Director for Science, Business and Data Insights

You are likely to have the following experience

• Credibility in building corporate partnerships with c-suite and senior leaders in R&D intensive, large businesses

Job Title: People and Culture Business Partner - Organisational Change 

Location: Based in our Central office in Islington, around a 10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station. You will also be able to work from home and will be required to make regular visits to our services. About the role

We're seeking an all rounded generalist to join our People and Culture team to support specifically in around areas of organisational change, mainly in relation to managing mobilisations, TUPE, staff consultations and growth. You will use your previous experience in these areas to manage the process of organisational change, working alongside the wider P&C team and managers across the organisation. Some key responsibilities in this role includes:

• Provide high quality support, leadership and guidance to managers and staff for change projects from start to finish.
• Support with matters of employee relations, escalations, and cross specialist areas.

About you

We are looking for someone who has experience in coaching and advising managers and colleagues with legal and internal obligations in relation to HR, you would have proven experience in a similar role at a similar level with responsibilities to this position. You will be a team player, confident in your skills and ability, and able to build rapport with others. Confidentiality will be at the core of what you do, and you will be able to take an objective standpoint to provide the correct advise to others. You will have: 

• Experience in managing mobilisations, TUE, de-mobilisations, redundancy consultations, change consultation, and project management

About the Role

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is seeking a qualified Systems Accountant with strong expertise in Infor SunSystems (including SunCloud) and financial systems optimisation. This consultancy role will ensure the effective use of Infor SunCloud and help maximise its potential. You will play a key role in a strategic initiative to enhance financial management, reporting, and operational efficiency through system improvements and automation.

About You

You are skilled Finance Systems Consultant with experience in Infor SunSystems (including SunCloud), financial reporting, and process automation. Ideally a qualified or part-qualified CCAB accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), you will support system optimisation, enhance internal controls, and improve financial reporting using tools like Power BI. You will work closely with internal teams and third-party providers to streamline key processes and help shape DEC’s financial systems roadmap. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.

Key responsibilities:

• Drive automation and process improvements in finance operations.
• Provide expert SunSystems technical support.
• Manage third-party provider relationships and onboarding.

You will bring your energy and skill to creating compelling content when writing news stories and social media, unleash your creativity in designing digital media and website content, and show your organizational skills in supporting events. This is an important role in a small communications team where you will help raise our international organisation’ s global profile across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. 

This fully remote contracting role is perfect for someone with some communications experience and a keen interest in supporting countries across the world to build better public infrastructure through open governance principles (accountability, transparency, participation, multi stakeholder working).

As the only Spanish speaking member of the communications team, you will lead on social media and news stories across Latin America and therefore fluent Spanish and English (both written and spoken) are essential, in addition knowledge of the Latin America region would be useful.

This is a fully remote consultancy role. You will not be paid on an hourly/daily basis but instead paid a fixed amount (as set out above) each month for completing agreed deliverables with your line manager. As a rough guide, we expect this will take around 18-20 hours a week. We are open to you working the hours in a way that works for your life-work balance and delivers our business needs, subject to being available for key meetings/deliverables during the week and in agreement with your line manager. Whilst this role is initially for 6 months, there is potential for this to extend or develop into a longer-term role. 

Key responsibilities: 

Drafting content (60%):

• researching and drafting news articles in English;
• creating ideas for, and drafting of, social media in both English and Spanish;
• creating digital media in both English and Spanish for social media accounts and website,

Role purpose
Our new Household Crisis Caseworker position will work alongside our Crisis Alternative Service, Ealing Safe Space and information and advice service, Pathways. This new service provides support for Ealing residents 18+ who are experiencing household crises such as: housing, debt, welfare benefits, employment. This service aims to support those facing cost of living / household crises, by providing 6-12 casework sessions. This service will primarily support those from low-income households in need, pensioners, unpaid carers, care leavers, single-person households, disabled people and those struggling with one-off financial concerns or unforeseen circumstances. These sessions will cover a range of elements and will aid in navigating and liaising with services. Ultimately, preventing further crises relating to cost of living and empowering individuals by providing self-advocacy tools and support plans.

The role of the caseworker will be to provide advice, guidance and navigation to Ealing residents experiencing cost of living and household crises exacerbating mental health struggles. Support offered to each individual will be person-centred and tailored, but may include: liaising with statutory services (housing officers, social workers, mental health teams etc), supporting with form filling, sourcing warm goods, supporting with grants and income maximisation, emergency applications, empowering individuals with self-advocacy skills, signposting etc.

The successful candidate will triage, onboard and manage a caseload 15-20 individuals, whilst also supporting those who drop-in to the service who require crisis intervention on the day. In addition to crisis work, the caseworker will be expected to adopt a preventative approach and encourage referrals before a crisis occurs, via partnership working both internally and externally. There will be an element of outreach working for this post. The successful candidate will work alongside our Ealing Safe Space team and be supported by the Safe Space Team Manager.

The caseworker will be required to work within the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS), adhere to Mind’s policies and procedures.

Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.  

Key Responsibilities

• Triage, onboard and support a caseload of 15-20 individuals
• Triage and support individuals dropping into the service for household / cost of living crisis support
• Liaise with core agencies (social services, housing, mental health teams, GPs, VCSE organisations)  
• Provide advice and information relating to all welfare benefits, including assisting clients with form filling and contacting agencies such as the Department for Work & Pensions on the individuals’ behalf
• Complete emergency applications and grant applications
• Devise and facilitate guided mental health sessions, exploring a range of topics such as anxiety and panic, sleep hygiene, financial management
• Provide housing, general money and debt management advice
• Provide information on employment opportunities and training support for clients
• Where appropriate, source warm goods for those in need
• Engage in outreach within the borough to encourage referrals and promote the service
• Signpost to other relevant services in the borough, or further afield
