About The Role

We are seeking a new Chief Executive to join us at an ideal time to complete and implement our emerging new strategy and direct Surrey Community Action into a bright future.

As Chief Executive Officer, you will have the scope and authority to shape strategy, influence policy, empower Surrey’s voluntary sector, and champion rural communities, working closely with a committed Board, and experienced staff team.

You will be the organisation’s lead ambassador, building trusted relationships with partners, funders and decision‑makers, and ensuring the organisation’s voice is heard at local, regional and national level.

You will also play a critical role in leading change and transformation within the charity - strengthening systems, diversifying income and evolving how the organisation works so it remains resilient, relevant and impactful in a fast‑changing environment.

This is a role for someone who enjoys balancing big‑picture thinking with practical delivery, and who can bring people with them through periods of transition.

About You

The purpose of the Chief Executive Officer’s role is to guide and plan the strategic development and overall direction of the organisation, providing strong leadership and co-ordination to ensure the aims, strategic objectives and priorities of the organisation are achieved.

To do this, we need someone who embodies the following attributes, skills and experience.

You will have:

• Senior leadership experience within a voluntary, community, public or values‑led organisation, with accountability for strategy, performance and resources.
• Proven experience of working effectively with a Board or trustees
• Demonstrable success in leading and managing organisational change, including restructuring, service development or cultural transformation.
• Experience in fundraising, income generation and business development
• Experience of financial leadership, including budgeting, financial planning, income generation and managing funding agreements or contracts.
• A strong track record of external engagement, partnership working and representation at senior level.
• People management experience, supporting a compact team delivering diverse projects.
• Excellent communication skills (including social media) and governance literacy.
• It will be a distinct advantage to have familiarity with Local Government Reorganisation and devolution, ideally in a county like Surrey.

The Nuts and Bolts

The role is a permanent contract for 35 hours per week, mostly office based but with some scope for working remotely.

Age UK is recruiting for an Executive Assistant to the CEO and Chair to provide full high-level executive support to the CEO and Chair of Age UK, including diary management, handling correspondence and travel arrangements as well as providing full secretariat planning and support for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings and assisting with preparations for Age UK Board meetings, including away days.

Serving as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders in relation to both the CEO and the Chair of Age UK, the post holder is responsible for ensuring reliable administrative support and effective communication between the Chair, CEO, SLT and their stakeholders.

As a member of the Governance and Executive Support Team, you would play a key part in ensuring that information from SLT meetings flows through to others within the team so that they can effectively support the wider governance system of subcommittees, committees and the Age UK Board. You would also be expected to support and cover for the team as required.

This is a hybrid opportunity, a blend of homebased and office working. Our linked office for this role is in London (near Tower Hill). You will be expected to attend the office circa twice a month. Travel costs to the London office are not covered by the charity.

As Communications Manager, you will play a central role in shaping how London Youth engages with the audiences that matter most. Sitting within the Fundraising and Communications Directorate, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of London Youth's digital communications, ensuring our work, impact and voice reach young people, members, funders, partners and policymakers in compelling and meaningful ways. 

You will oversee London Youth's key digital channels, including social media, our website and newsletter marketing, ensuring they are engaging accessible and aligned with organisational priorities. Through strong editorial judgement, a creative mindset, and a clear understanding of our audiences, you will translate programmes, policy work and youth activities into clear, engaging communications that inspire action and strengthen London Youth's profile and influence. 

Working closely with colleagues across programmes, membership, policy, fundraising and our outdoor centres, you will help ensure the outcomes and impact of London Youth's work are effectively communicated throughout the year. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of live products and partnerships, acting as the escalation point for complex delivery issues and ensuring strong audit trails, regulatory boundaries, and continuous improvement. The Diocese of London is the group of Church of England organisations located in London north of the River Thames and covers eighteen London Boroughs. It is made up of parishes, schools, chaplaincies, missional communities and other organisations, which are united by their common Christian faith.

The Diocese is overseen by the Bishop of London, assisted by Area Bishops, Archdeacons and senior staff, and administrated by the staff of the London Diocesan Fund (LDF).

The Cathedral is St Paul's.

The Bishop's Office staff team comprises the Bishop's Chaplain, the Bishop's Adviser, the Executive Assistant, the Diary and Hospitality Manager, and the Correspondence and Administrative Assistant.

The team is based in the delightful surroundings of The Old Deanery in the City of London close to St Paul's Cathedral. The Old Deanery contains the offices of the Bishop of London and the Archdeacons of London, Charing Cross and Hackney and the staff work together to ensure a warm and generous welcome to all visitors.
There will be some flexibility to work remotely but because of the nature of the role please expect to work from The Old Deanery for the majority of the time.

This is an interim role for a period of 12 months.

Policy & Public Affairs Intern   

Length: 32 weeks, estimated start in May

Salary: London living wage, £26,936 pro-rata

Working Pattern: Full-time, 35hrs Mon – Fri | Staff can opt to work 32hrs over 4 days each week (with either Monday or Friday as a non-working day). The BES is a 4-day work week organisation with no reduction in pay.

Purpose of role: This role will provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of working in environmental policy and public affairs. You will join our small friendly Policy team working across the BES’s policy priorities, ensuring scientific evidence is accessible to policymakers across the UK.  If you have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, demonstrable interest in environmental policy and a desire to learn about the BES’s policy work, we would love to hear from you.

• Research and prepare a policy briefing on a topic aligned with the BES’s policy strategy.     

• Drawing from previous BES publications, help develop and refine the BES’s strategic messaging to support consistent and effective external communications.  

• Oversee the policy section of the BES website, including writing expert and engaging blogs and news items, and organising the contribution of external collaborators.   

• Working with the communications team, help to develop content to communicate key messages, including webinars, podcasts, newsletter content and social media.  

Public Affairs  

• Develop a database of contacts and stakeholders to help communicate our key messages.  

• Represent the BES, alongside other members of the Policy & External Affairs team, at meetings with external partners, workshops, parliamentary receptions and conferences, building relationships and forging effective partnerships.  

• Help with policy event management including policy roundtables, expert workshops, policy training and other online and in-person events.   

Support   

• Provide support to the BES Policy Committee and our national Policy Groups in England, Wales and Scotland. This includes organising meetings, as well as producing relevant papers, agendas and minutes.

Job Purpose

As Operations Manager (OM), you’ll lead safe, high‑quality services, guide a committed frontline team, ensure compliance, strengthen partnerships, and drive performance across all operations; keeping our work moving from outreach and hotspot engagement to groups, community stalls, and the everyday moments where trust is built. As part of BUBIC’s commitment to meeting people where they are, the post holder will also share night‑outreach duties with the Team Leader, working one evening per week (5pm-midnight, typically Wednesday or Friday) to reach those most visible and vulnerable at night, enabling early intervention, safer engagement, and stronger pathways into support. Communications Assistant

• 15 hours per week at £15.00 an hour (Actual salary £11,700 - FTE £27,300)
• Hours may be worked flexibly over a minimum of 3 days a week
• Home based with occasional prearranged in person meetings

The Communications Assistant will provide hands-on support to the Communications Manager in the ideation, creation and delivery of our regular external communications. This includes helping to grow our social media following, creating and scheduling content, sourcing and designing images, providing copywriting support, and responding to comments across our channels. The role will also involve drafting and scheduling newsletters and providing administrative support with our databases.

This is a 15‑hour‑per‑week role, with the potential to grow in the future. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can spread their hours across the week to support consistent content delivery, but we are open to discussing alternative working patterns for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have experience in a communications, marketing or social media role. They will be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and have basic video editing and/or animation skills. Strong copywriting skills and the ability to adapt tone of voice for different channels are essential, as is confidence using Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms.

We are a busy remote team, and this role offers plenty of scope to work autonomously and flexibly. You’ll gain experience across a wide range of areas and develop your skills in a supportive, hands‑on environment, with opportunities to contribute to the creative direction of our communications.

The Role

As our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will lead efforts to secure and diversify funding, building a sustainable resource base to support our global mission.

Leading the Fundraising and Business Development Team, you will drive the implementation of our resource mobilisation strategy, focusing on increasing non-ODA income and expanding flexible and programmatic funding.

Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, finance, research and impact teams, you will help close funding gaps by developing strong donor relationships, negotiating funding agreements and shaping compelling funding propositions.

Alongside collaborating with the Director of Fundraising and Communications and supporting engagement with the Board of Trustees, you will manage systems, data and internal processes that strengthen fundraising performance and ensure effective delivery.

- Gather and share intelligence on trends within the funding landscape

- Support teams to develop fundraising plans, donor scoping and funding bids

About You

To be considered as our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will need:

- Significant experience leading fundraising functions in an international NGO or charity

- Management experience with the ability to co-ordinate, support, motivate, energise and develop diverse teams

 About the role:

This is a pivotal role in our Campaigns and Communications Team, reporting to the Head of Campaigns and Communications. You will be managing the drafting of evidenced-based policy positions (for example analysing research, data and lived experience insight) and work with the Head of Campaigns and Communications to ensure these are translated into effective campaigning activity that drives real change.

Key Responsibilities 

Administrative Support

• First point of contact for schools, clients, suppliers, and visitors triaging issues and responding efficiently and helpfully to queries in person, via phone, and by email
• Monitoring of shared email inboxes across various teams, addressing enquiries in a timely manner
• Work closely with the Operations, Comms and CPD teams to support projects and workstreams

Event / Visitor Coordination

• Prepare and manage meeting rooms and training venues liaising with trainers and delegates
• Assist with the planning and delivery of in-person and online events, including training sessions and conferences

CPD Support

• Support with organising, hosting and managing the technical side of virtual and in-person meetings, training and webinars

Communications and Digital Support

• Website administration support, resolving member queries

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Mentor to join our team based in RBKC to support our residents who have multiple and complex needs which could include mental health, substance use, homelessness, and/or offending backgrounds. You will support in providing our residents with the support needed to help them overcome their personal barriers, and achieve their goals in a person centred approach. You will work within a residential setting, creating a safe and comfortable space which our residents can call their homes during their time within the service.

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings
• Holding a caseload, conducting key work sessions which are personable to their needs
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular welfare checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies
• Encourage residents to take part in activities and events such as movie nights, cooking evenings, and games nights
• Work closely with the rest of the team to provide overall excellent service delivery, this may mean also supporting with their caseloads, and other tasks as necessary

You will do this through a combination of producing tailored support plans, activities, and partnership working. You will be expected to remain awake, alert, accessible, and actively engaged throughout the shift. There is a focus on welfare checks, providing resident support, and completing administration tasks, ensuring clear handovers are prepared for the day staff and managers. 

You will support us continue to work in a trauma informed way, and create a psychologically informed environment, which supports us in creating a safe, respectful, and responsive environment which puts our people and communities at the forefront. • Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service.
