As Lead, Management Accountant, you will:

- Prepare monthly management accounts, including comparatives to budgets, trends and forecasts

- Compile Balance sheet reconciliations

- Prepare quarterly Project Income and Expenditure reports for Project Managers

- Prepare interim/final financial Project reports for submission to Funders

- Prepare quarterly VAT returns

- Provide accurate and timely financial information to support the organisational financial strategy and decision-making process

The successful applicant will:

- Have demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

- Be Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or Part qualified on final stage

- Have a strong understanding of charity accounting principles, including SORP

- Have experience of managing financial ledgers, systems and processes

- Have strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, and the ability to manage large amounts of data

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is a fantastic chance to join the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, working within the Active Journeys team as our new Project Officer. 

As the Project Officer you will be required to play a dynamic role in delivering a variety of walking, wheeling, and cycling projects that make a real difference to people's lives. 

In this varied role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering practical activities for young people in schools, supporting the implementation of School Streets to create safer and healthier environments, and working closely with the National Cycle Network and Infrastructure teams on community engagement for related schemes. You will engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships to ensure the successful delivery of projects, and will also be responsible for integrating Sustrans volunteers into your work to help maximise impact and community involvement. 

This role involves regular travel, with work taking place at different locations to support and deliver projects for the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.

The PDA Society is looking to recruit its first ever Head of role and we believe the right person could be transformative for our organisation. AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown.  Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for exceptional candidates to join our team in a highly rewarding opportunity. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. Duties and responsibilities
 
People and Cultural Leadership 

• You’ll manage the workload distribution across the Impact & Quality department functions and teams, ensuring that projects are delivered according to strategic priorities. 
• You’ll line-manage a small team of managers who have responsibilities for curriculum, training, quality, insights and data management activities across the department.

 
Strategic and Senior Management 

• You’ll contribute to Senior Management Team discussions and decisions, representing the impact and quality functions, ensuring all decisions consider the implications on our evidence base, protecting the drivers of impact and maintaining our reputation as a sector-leading impact organisation.

Impact and quality oversight

• Leadership and oversight to ensure continued smooth implementation of a Randomised Control Trial lasting the first 6-9 months of this role. 
• You’ll be accountable for the development and implementation of the Impact Strategy of the organisation.

Qualifications criteria:

•  University degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field of quantitative or social research.

The ME Association is dedicated to supporting people affected by ME/ CFS (Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome). We fund biomedical research, campaign for change and provide a wide range of support services to help those with ME/CFS.

As Fundraising Officer, you’ll play a vital role in securing funding to help people with ME/ CFS.  You can make a positive difference to thousands of people’s lives.

We are looking for someone who

• has experience of fundraising ideally in community or challenge event fundraising
• has excellent written and verbal skills – with experience of building strong relationships
• Is an open and friendly person who takes pride in being a positive change in the world
• has excellent project management and time management skills
• has experience of delivering against targets
• has a sound understanding of the principles of fundraising including ethical fundraising and GDPR compliance
• has used Raisers Edge or equivalent fundraising database
• has a high level of competence using Microsoft Office software and is able to quickly adapt to new technologies

You will be responsible for:

• Providing a high standard of stewardship for supporters, nurturing existing supporters, thanking donors, and supporting charity events, such as our supporter reception.
• Developing our charity fundraising appeals
• Developing and promoting the challenge events portfolio.
• Keeping the fundraising pages updated, helping to design and produce fundraising materials (flyers and fundraising packs). 
• You will be working closely with the Fundraising and Development Manager and will be required to support the wider Communications team where needed with additional fundraising activities.

This position is home-based with occasional travel for fundraising events.

Initially a 12 month contract, but with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

A driving license isn’t essential.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events.

The successful candidate will be IT literate, an excellent communicator, highly organised with a strong attention to detail.

A background in fundraising is required, although this could be from intern or voluntary work.  An understanding of ME/CFS is desirable.

Stewardship

• Monitoring the fundraising inbox, acting as a first point of contact for a wide range of supporters and enquirers.
• Developing individual giving income through enhanced communications, great stewardship and supporting on fundraising appeals.
• Nurturing our regular givers and looking for ways to grow our regular-giving donor base.
• Completing thanking processes efficiently for donations.
• Developing and managing tools and resources to support fundraising events such as sending out t-shirts, posters, flyers, donation boxes and fundraising packs when requested.
• Liaising with the communications team to create promotional materials to advertise events through the website and social media channels to increase engagement.

Administration

• Keeping accurate records of all prospect and supporter interactions on our CRM system, Raisers Edge NXT.
• Optimising fundraising and donation opportunities at key charity events, researching and recording information.
• Supporting the Fundraising and Development Manager as and when needed.
• Working with colleagues across, communications and services teams to ensure a smooth flow of information to support fundraising promotion and engagement.
