The PDA Society is looking to recruit its first ever Head of role and we believe the right person could be transformative for our organisation. AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown.  Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for exceptional candidates to join our team in a highly rewarding opportunity. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regional Casework Manager (RCM) to join the North West of England Region at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

About the role

You will be part of the regional office team, managing a group of casework administrators. The team provides specialist administrative support and act as a single point of contact to SSAFA branch-based volunteers ensuring that SSAFA beneficiaries receive consistent, timely, and high-quality service. The RCM role will involve developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with volunteers, including branch-based casework managers.  Additionally, the RCM will occasionally assist the Regional Casework Co-ordinators with call handling, signposting, and triaging initial client enquiries.

To help you establish yourself in this post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.  You will influence the processes and procedures within the regional office as it develops, working closely with a dedicated team under the guidance of the Regional Manager.

The position is home-based, but you will occasionally be required to travel within the North West Region or to other locations.

About the team

The regional office is a “virtual” office and supports the six SSAFA branches in the North West of England region, as the branch-based volunteers deliver casework for SSAFA beneficiaries.  The successful candidate will work as part of a larger support team which will include 5 Casework Administrators and a Regional Manager.  All team members are home based, residing in the region.

About you

To excel in this role, you should have a solid educational background and experience in managing employees, as well as overseeing and reporting on service delivery.  You should have a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, achieving results through negotiation and influence.  Previous experience of working with volunteers would be advantageous.  You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard and be capable of learning a computerised case management system quickly. Additionally, you should be skilled with numerical data.

The successful candidate will be capable of planning and managing their own workload, with minimal supervision and have considerable experience of managing accounts.

It would be desirable to have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families. About the Role

We are looking for a Part Time Training Support Assistant with strong organisational and administrative skills.

The Training Support Assistant will be part of Become’s Training Team who provide courses for professionals who work alongside care-experienced young people. Clients include local authorities, fostering agencies, supported accommodation providers, universities etc.

The team is currently made up of the Head of Training & Development, a full time and a part time Training Officer and a part time Training Support Assistant and we are expanding to provide full time coverage of the assistant role. The two members of the Training Support Assistant Team will work closely alongside one another in order to provide administrative support for the wider Training Team. Collectively the Assistants will be responsible for tasks relating to the coordination and promotion of Become’s training and consultancy offer.

Location

We are currently hybrid working: our team primarily works from home. In-person attendance at some meetings will be expected approximately once every two months, usually at our central hot-desking location in Old Street, London. This would be agreed on a monthly basis with the manager. For non-London based staff we will consider hot-desking options near you, if required. The Country Trust is seeking a Food and Farm Discovery Coordinator to deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences for primary school children across Essex and nearby areas. You’ll run cooking and gardening sessions in schools, organise and lead farm visits, and build lasting relationships with teachers, farmers, and food producers.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience working with children, a love of cooking and gardening, and enthusiasm for bringing the natural world to life. You’ll need excellent communication skills, confidence managing groups outdoors, strong organisation, and the ability to work independently as part of a supportive national team.

This flexible, home-based role typically involves 1.5–2.5 days per week during term time, with paid training, meetings, and development days. A full driving licence, access to a car, and basic IT equipment are essential.

? What You’ll Be Doing:

• To proactively develop a suite of policies, procedures and supporting documents to aid and support the Income Generation department.
• To keep up to date with compliance requirements and regulations that affect the department 
• To be an active member of the Quality Governance function and wider Charity team, working collaboratively with income generating colleagues to understand their fundraising plans and provide guidance from planning stage onwards on any compliance elements of their activities.
• To work in collaboration with Volunteers, their staff Key Contacts and our Volunteering Hub to understand and deliver training requirements to our registered fundraising volunteers to aid compliance.
• Working with Senior Fundraising colleagues to provide support and guidance to our supporters that equips them with the information to conduct their own fundraising in an appropriate way whilst enhancing their supporter experience.

The Role

This is a key role acting as a delivery partner on our projects, working on streams of community work across the Midlands, and within the staff team. 

Responsibilities

• Projects and Workstreams: Overseeing and ensuring outstanding delivery on multiple community projects through Flood Action Groups and Multi-Agency Meetings. Support and manage data collection that meets the aims of each project.
• Community Engagement: Engage and empower flooded and at-risk communities, supporting and representing them and pushing for the best outcomes.  Being ambitious on their behalf and advocating for change.
• Report Writing: Ensure reports are on time and are to depth and quality required.
• Staff Training: Support staff and training manager to ensure comprehensive and appropriate training takes place to ensure continuous professional development. 
• Team Management: Line manage staff, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Modelling behaviours and driving forward team development.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Manage and develop key stakeholder relationships, ensuring strong partnerships and leading on communications.
• Political and Fundraising Support: Provide data, case studies, and research to support political influencing and fundraising activities. Contribute to and attend policy, political and strategic meetings.  Support fundraising activities through providing data and information. 
• Income: Identify future income opportunities, sharing information and building relationships for new projects or new income streams with Senior Management Team.  
• Support Senior Management Team proactive role to support to deliver NFF objectives.

· You will manage and support Flood Engagement Officers to deliver their projects and work streams and managing development pathways for team members.

• Liaise and develop relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth operational and community engagement activities.
• Support Senior Management Team to build income streams and develop new activity. Working to develop, support and deliver NFF strategy

The National Flood Forum (NFF) is the only independent national charity dedicated to supporting and representing people at risk of flooding.  Established in 2002 by those affected by flooding, we passionately put people at the heart of flood risk management. The project officer will help communities to work in partnership with flood risk management agencies to better manage flooding and its impacts in their area. This will involve working with communities at flood risk and agencies using methodologies developed by the National Flood Forum and used successfully around the country

We are seeking someone warm and approachable who will be required to work in Shropshire and potentially other areas in England & Wales. You will need to be able to engage appropriately and effectively with grassroot communities at risk of flooding, as well as professional organisations and have proven project management skills.

Day to day you will work directly with members of the public in communities and liaise closely with external organisations.

The National Flood Forum team is small, intimate and extremely supportive of one another. Officers work on projects across the country but speak and meet on a regular basis. Training and experience are gained alongside these officers in their areas.
