Job title: Marketing Manager
Reports to: Charis Evans, Managing Director, CST Professional Development
Location: Home-based, with occasional travel for meetings and events. We provide equipment to support you working from home and pay reasonable expenses when you need to travel for work.
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 a year.
Pension: We offer a workplace pension and life assurance scheme. CST makes contributions equivalent to 10% of your gross salary.
Annual leave: Initially 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional two days leave after three years.
Working hours: Full time, 37.5 hours a week. We are happy to consider part time and flexible working options.
Job overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketing Manager to lead and execute marketing strategy for our conferences, events, membership and consultancy services within the education sector. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting the CST brand, increasing attendance and engagement at our events and driving membership and business growth through strategic marketing activities. They will also line manage, support and develop a Marketing Executive.
Key responsibilities
1. Developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies for CST’s services, aligned with organisational goals and values.
2. Working closely with key stakeholders to define and achieve marketing goals and income targets.
3. Engaging with CST thought leadership and policy output to understand key trends in the school trust sector and undertaking competitor analysis to identify opportunities for CST in the education market.
4. Understanding CST membership engagement data and using it to inform the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that build audiences and pipelines for CST events and services.
5. Managing marketing calendars to ensure timely delivery of campaigns, in line with the events, communities and membership calendars.
6. Overseeing the creation of compelling marketing materials including, brochures, landing pages, social media and email campaigns, blog content and promotional video.
7. Collaborating with subject matter experts in-house and across a wide range of partners to produce thought leadership and guidance for the benefit of CST members.
8. Supporting the delivery of conferences and events and working in partnership with the events team and external partners to ensure seamless integration and quality assurance of marketing and operational activities, including onsite branding and promotional activities.
9. Working closely with CST’s Head of Communications to manage the services areas on CST’s website.
10. Build relationships with CST partners and other sector organisations to identify and create cross-promotional opportunities.
11. Using the CST CRM and other analytics platforms to report on the performance of marketing activities.
12. Any other duties that may be delegated by the MD of CST PD.

• 5+ years marketing and communications experience, ideally in the education or membership sector, including experience of managing people.

Bereavement Support Services Lead (Digital). This is a rewarding and key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide operational and line management so that the BSS team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers on the frontline. As our digital support continues to grow and develop, we are looking for someone to support and inspire the team in this expanding area, working closely with Sands’ Bereavement Support Digital Coordinator. The Bereavement Support Services Team offers 1-2-1 support via telephone, email and other digital channels, and is usually open from 10-3 from Monday to Friday and 6-9pm from Tuesday to Thursday with occasional extended opening hours. Support is also available through digital channels; our Online Community, direct messenger on Instagram and Facebook and various closed groups on Facebook which need to be regularly monitored and moderated to provide a safe, user-led space accessible to all. In future a wider range of channels may be used. There are three Bereavement Support Leads (BSLs) including this post holder, and between them they are expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. Each shift will start 30 minutes before the helpline opens and end 30 minutes after the helpline closes, and BSLs will divide up the week in order to be present during shifts and ensure at least one BSL or the Head of BSS is available to the team 9am-4pm Monday to Friday and 5.30pm-9.30pm Tuesday to Thursday for safeguarding and general support. The role will be split between operational management of the BSS team, line management of BSSOs, supporting and contributing to other strands of bereavement support work, as well as some direct work on all of the support channels.

You will be a passionate fundraiser who is able to build relationships with supporters, manage a number of innovative campaigns and drive forward the strategy for growth and supporter engagement.
About the role
You will be joining a friendly and face paced fundraising team and will be responsible for delivering income from Legacy and In Memory giving year on year. You will develop the Legacy and in Memory supporter care journeys as well as support the Individual Giving Manager with the development of legacy marketing and in memory fundraising activities.
You will project manage Legacy Marketing campaigns as well as lead and develop the "Free wills month" campaign. You will work with the wider fundraising team to steward in memory supporters and maximise in memory giving. You will also deliver in memory events with the fundraising team.
About you
To be successful in this role you must have had experience in either a Legacy or in Memory fundraising role with a proven track record of delivering income and delivering supporter care journey's. You will have experience of working with a CRM as well as analysing complex data.

Job Summary
The Finance Business Partner in Volunteering is responsible for providing the first line of support and assistance with the development of financial plans, analysis of the financial performance and forecasts of the Adult Volunteering area, in order to provide high quality business insight to both support and influence strategic decision making by St John’s management teams. They will be a key member of the Financial Planning and Insight team to ensure delivery of the annual three-year budgeting process, that is aligned to strategic operational plans. This will require regularly meeting with relevant stakeholders to critically review and challenge reported performance against agreed plans. This role will not only look after the Adult Volunteering part of the organisation but support some other overheads/areas within the organisation.
About You
You are a fully qualified professional accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Ideally you have gained experience in the charity sector and large complex organisations. You can demonstrate previous experience in a finance business partner role with a track record of supporting the end-to-end processes for in-year forecasts and annual budgets and three-year plans that are aligned to business strategy. You have significant experience in managing the day-to-day, monthly and annual production of management accounting processes. To be successful you can demonstrate excellent skills in influencing with confidence and gravitas to respectfully challenge. You are naturally curious with a genuine interest in change and technology. You take personal ownership and possess a flexible 'can do' mind set and you are able to build and maintain effective networks both internally and externally.
About the Role
- Deliver high quality business and financial analysis, with detailed outcomes and benefits, to identify and present coherent rationales for change, to support continued coordinated, consistent and effective delivery of services across St John
- Provide impactful and effective finance business partnering to St John Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams
- Work with the relevant stakeholders, to timetable in the production of the charity’s monthly management accounts and the annual budgeting and in-year forecasting process that is the aligned to business plans
- Drive continuous improvement in St John’s financial management reporting, forecasting and analysis
- Drive continuous customer experience improvement by simplifying and improving St John’s financial processes, to provide your collective internal and external customers, an efficient and effective finance experience
- Utilise technology and tools to continuously improve the presentation and content of the charity’s financial management reports to best support and meet the needs of Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams
- Provide clear and understandable narrative to stakeholders and the rest of the team, advocating good accounting principles and helping to educate, inform and develop others within the wider finance team

In this role of Relationship Fundraising Executive, you will support delivery of the Fundraising strategy in our communities to grow income and support for Action for Children. The role is remote working but would suit someone living in the Central Region of England.

How you'll help to create brighter futures
- Supporting the delivery of a range of fundraising campaigns and activities across the Central Region of England that provide significant income and are in line with the relationship fundraising strategy.
- Assisting with the stewardship of local volunteer fundraising groups, organisations, clubs, businesses in the local area to encourage further involvement in our work.
- Manage the administrative set up and support of ‘Action Squads’, i.e. volunteer led fundraising groups to help them successfully fundraise and raise awareness.
- Working across and attending challenge events to assist the stewardship and support for sports participants, who sign up to run, walk, cycle and skydive for Action for Children across the UK.
- Demonstrate accountability to our supporters and volunteers through an open, honest, transparent, and consistent approach.
- Supporting the delivery of set financial targets and non-financial targets and outcomes locally.
- Ensuring expected income has been received and banked within the predicted timeframes.
- Collaborate with colleagues from within Fundraising and other departments to maximise on opportunities.
- Manage daily processes efficiently and effectively to ensure onboarding of supporters in a timely manner.
Let's talk about you
- Professional Institute of Fundraising qualification (desirable) or Membership of IoF (desirable).
- Experience of delivering successful fundraising activity to achieve income growth.
- Proven experience of networking and of developing and stewarding.
- Maintaining excellent personal relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders, donors, and volunteers.
- Proficient in the use of Raiser’s Edge or equivalent database
- Managing challenging and demanding situations to ensure the delivery of all events and fundraising activities.
- Ability to project manage a team of volunteers to achieve against specific financial goals where appropriate.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite.

What you’ll focus on:
- Management of data quality processes

OUTLINE OF THE ROLE
Work with the Trustees to devise and lead new fundraising initiatives that fulfil the objectives of the Trust's Fundraising Strategy and annual income budget, with particular focus on regular giving across all alumni, gifts from high-net-worth individuals, and legacies. This will involve:
• Developing and delivering improved communications to build a stronger connected donor network.
• Locating, engaging and retaining alumni to support and promote the Trust, focused on ensuring their long-term impact on the Trust and its beneficiaries.
• Work with the Trustees/Trust Fundraising Committee to devise and implement new fundraising initiatives.
• Work with the Trustees/Trust Fundraising Committee to identify and engage new volunteers to support the Trust's activities.
KEY TASKS
Work with the Trustees and Fundraising Committee to devise and implement the following:
• Improve communications
The Trust has a strong, growing, and engaged network of loyal alumni who already support the Trust's beneficiaries through fundraising and volunteering. However, the Trust's communications need to be improved in order to increase the numbers of donors who provide sustained financial support and inspire all donors to raise their level of donations. Continually find opportunities to engage new donors and ensure clear consistent messaging.
• Manage and maintain donor data
The Trust needs to maintain a full and accurate database of all donors and fundraising activities to support long-term tracking and inform future fundraising. This also requires networking among alumni and being vigilant to changes in alumni data.
• Research and approach alumni whose connection with the Trust has lapsed
Continue to grow the active network through researching and motivating dormant and lapsed alumni to reconnect with the Trust.
• Research untapped prospects
Research the database with a view to identifying dormant and untapped opportunities, especially regarding
high-net-worth individuals and legacies. Ensure fundraising approaches are well-targeted and informed in order to maximise the chances of success. This will expand to include non-alumni sources, including institutional sources such as foundations and other trusts.
• Ensure long-term donor connection
Communicate with all donors to demonstrate the impact they can make by showcasing the current and long-term outcome of programs. Deliver a diverse selection of communications to engage different audiences, with a clear plan for all members of the network. Ensure donors are connected to the Trust, value the Trust's activities and actively help fund opportunities.
• Reporting to the Trustees
Create an annual donor impact report to the Trustees, and other stakeholders such as alumni, that delineates donor statistics, reviews communications and events that have taken place during the past year and identifies potential prospects and events for developing in the coming year. Also provide a lower-level oral report of fundraising activities and communications to the Trustees at their quarterly meetings.
• Deliver income growth target
Acquire enough new donations to meet agreed annual income growth targets set by the Trustees.
You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the charity and its overall objectives. For instance, organizing fund-raising specific events in different regions. This position could evolve into a full-time commitment with a support team, but at the present time, support to this role will be provided through the existing network of volunteers.

This is an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join a small but determined team. Working closely with the wider charity team, this role offers a real opportunity to see the impact that your work has on the children and families we support and to grow our fundraising reach within your geographical region.
The geographical region will cover anything west of Bridgend and up to Aberystwyth. Ideally, candidates would be based in the Carmarthen/Llanelli area. This is a home-based role, with frequent travel throughout Wales, and monthly travel to Cardiff.
Scope of role
This recently created role within the Noah’s Ark Charity, which will grow our regional community fundraising presence and offering. The postholder will know the West Wales area well and will become the expert in fundraising opportunities within the region, building strong relationships within the community, including companies and will develop supporter-led activity. The postholder will plan for and deliver income for the charity within the region, in line with wider fundraising strategy.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Income generation
- To plan for and deliver income to target through key performance indicators as agreed with community fundraising manager.
- To develop new supporter relationships within the community, in a planned way, to achieve income and provide excellent supporter care to ensure the relationship is ongoing, beyond one-off support for the charity.
- To lead on and deliver community fundraising within the region, through relationships with patient families, third party fundraisers, community groups, schools and education establishments and public bodies.
- To build strong corporate partnerships within the region, to an agreed income level, with the support of the community fundraising manager and head of fundraising and development.
- To lead on key projects to develop income generation.
- To contribute to the strategic development of community fundraising.
- Plan and deliver events in the community where necessary.
- Secure and deliver engaging presentations to groups and organisations.
2. Ambassador programme
- To build the family ambassador programme within the region, growing the network of key supporters who will represent and be the face of the charity within their local community.
- Support the community fundraising manager with the development of the ambassador programme including training and thanking opportunities.
3. Supporter experience
- To champion consistent and excellent supporter care.
- To record all communications accurately on the database, ensuring information is gathered and recorded in accordance with the requirements of the data protection act, GDPR and the charity’s data protection policy.
- To respond to supporter enquiries in a timely manner and deal with complaints, escalating as appropriate.
- To deliver an excellent supporter journey and contribute to the central supporter journey for community fundraising.
4. Cross team working
- To work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues across the team to deliver wider fundraising income and charity objectives. For example, gifts in wills, regular giving, event participation, volunteering and communications.
5. Budgets
- Work with the community fundraising manager and head of fundraising and development, to build and manage a detailed fundraising budget, including income and expenditure.
- Provide forecasts throughout the year, for agreed streams of income.
6. Best practice
- Ensure all fundraising practice is in line with organisational guidelines and policies.
- Encourage and champion compliance and best practice within the fundraising team.
- Ensure own compliance with fundraising standards and requirements, keeping up to date with key policies and regulations, including the fundraising regulator, chartered institute of fundraising and the charity commission.
7. Undertake any other duties which might be required to fulfil the general purpose of the post.
