The Digital Officer ensures Bliss' digital operations run smoothly. Role Details

The Digital Officer is responsible for maintaining Bliss’ website on a day-to-day basis making sure that the website’s functionality and content is of the highest standard and providing an excellent user experience. 

You will use your digital skills and understanding to help edit, create and manage the Bliss website including regular monitoring through analytics.

You will work closely with the Digital Programme Lead on various digital projects will also work with different teams across the organisation to support their digital initiatives and needs.

The ideal candidate will ideally have experience of working in a digital or similar role, be able to work on their own initiative and have excellent understanding of user needs and creating digital content.

You’ll provide website training and support to colleagues across the organisation, as well as work with our digital agency on support requests and projects as and when required.

You will be motivated by an excellent understanding of the impact and reach that digital content can have, and be able to demonstrate the following:

• Experience working in a digital communications or digital marketing environment
• Significant experience in using a website CMS and a range of digital technologies
• Significant experience of creating online content that is accessible for all audiences
• An understanding of search engine optimisation and user experience best practice
• Excellent written and verbal communicator, able to translate technical information for colleagues who may be less technically knowledgeable
• A creative, proactive approach to finding digital solutions and solving technical issues
• Experience of Google Analytics and other methods of measuring digital performance to help improve activities
• Good knowledge of digital trends and ability and appetite to keep up to date with advances in these and apply to Bliss’ work

What you’ll do 

You will support the delivery of the Linking Loss project, a study focused on co-producing a peer-led, group intervention for people experiencing mental health difficulties following early pregnancy loss that is inclusive of marginalised communities. Working under the supervision of the Research Programme Coordinator, and alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes the Principal and Co-Investigators, experts with lived experience of pregnancy loss and mental health difficulties, you will contribute to a range of research activities. These include recruiting participants, conducting qualitative interviews with people who have experienced pregnancy loss, liaising with NHS services, managing data in line with GDPR and ethical guidelines, and ensuring adherence to study protocols.

What you’ll bring 

You will have a background in psychology or a related field, with experience in clinical or qualitative research involving parents and young children, particularly within mental health contexts.

Essential skills and experience:

• Clinical research experience in perinatal mental health, health psychology, or health inequalities;
• Proficiency in collecting, analysing, and managing qualitative data;
• Strong understanding of participant and patient confidentiality and ethical research practices;
• Experience in effectively engaging parents as participants in research studies.

You will be self-motivated and organised with a strong understanding of qualitative research methods. Key details

Hours: Part-time (21 hours per week) – including Wednesdays.

Salary: £29,904 per annum FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.

Location: Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours, either at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH) or our Northern Hub (Huckletree, The Express Building, 9 Great Ancoats Street, Manchester M4 5AD).
Contract type: Fixed-term, 15 months.

We are looking for a Technology Empowerment Coordinator to help drive its success.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to coordinate cutting-edge and innovative technology support for people with a sensory impairment across Surrey. You’ll lead the delivery of community and remote tech training, grow and develop our technology volunteers, and collaborate with sector partners to learn and share, and to position our charity at the forefront of technology empowerment for people with a sensory impairment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the delivery of assistive technology support with the Access Technology Trainer and AI Trailblazer and Volunteer Co-ordinator.
• Liaise with community-based services and identify individual needs for tailored tech support.
• Support, grow and develop our Tech Buddy volunteers to maximise our impact.
• Support our Access Technology Trainer and AI Trailblazer with accessible training content to run confidence-building digital learning sessions, in person and online.
• Support partnership working with local community groups and national sector organisations.
• Monitor outcomes, gather case studies, and support reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Help embed inclusive tech practices across the organisation, and to develop the technology training capability of our staff team.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about technology and digital inclusion, with the skills to coordinate and develop a service. 

You’ll need:

• Experience coordinating or delivering services—ideally involving technology and disabled people.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and AI applications for people who are disabled.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to liaise effectively with volunteers, staff and sector partners.
• Excellent communication skills, with a range of audiences, including through written report writing.
• Experience and confidence using Microsoft 365, databases ideally including Microsoft Access, and Customer Relationship Management systems.
• A collaborative, person-centred approach.
• Ability to travel across Surrey and to work independently when required.

It’s a bonus if you have:

• Lived or professional experience of sensory disability.
• Experience of coordinating a digital inclusion service for people with a sensory impairment.
• Knowledge and experience of assistive technology and AI for people with a sensory impairment.
• Knowledge of local referral pathways, NHS, and community services.

Trainee Habilitation Specialist

Salary: £25, 000 per annum (pay will increase following successful completion of the first year, and post qualification, then annually with experience in line with continual professional development up to £36,000)

 Full-time: 36 hours per week

Work Mileage paid at 45p per mile.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an outstanding graduate with a passion for working with children and young people.  This is a trainee post and the training programme takes 2 years including on the job training and a graduate diploma (which we pay for).  At the end of the 2-year programme, and on successful qualification, you will then be employed as a qualified Habilitation Specialist. 

 We are recruiting for a trainee Habilitation Specialist who will work within the Children & Young People’s team while undertaking the Habilitation and Disabilities of Sight Graduate Diploma at University College London.

The role of the Habilitation Specialist is to teach concepts that most children learn through sight.  Habilitation Specialists support children and young people to develop strategies to excel in life without vision, or with reduced vision, developing independence, mobility, and daily living skills.
