The Role

Young Trustees Movement is looking for Freelance Trainers to help us deliver our suite of trainings and shake up the charity sector from the inside. Our Freelance Trainers will deliver our trainings Board Boost (for young people) and Across the Board (for charity boards), as well as occasional bespoke sessions for a variety of clients. You’ll be responsible for running our trainings, keeping groups engaged and guiding discussions in an inclusive and supportive way that is in alignment with our movement values.

We’ll provide you with all the relevant training, resources and materials you need to run our sessions independently - and you’ll join a growing network of people helping us advocate for youth leadership & voice.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct training sessions using Young Trustees Movement content & session plans

• Facilitation of group discussions - Skillfully manage group dynamics, including handling difficult conversations, and ensuring all participants feel heard and respected

• Stakeholder engagement & communication - Act as a point of contact for clients & stakeholders, effectively communicating programme progress & outcomes

Essential Requirements

• Embodies and believes in Young Trustees’ Movements’ values (disruption & collaboration, coalition over competition, meaningful youth leadership, open learning & reflection, curiosity, justice & inclusion)

• Previous experience running workshops & trainings

• Experience of working as a trainer, demonstrating a strong sense of independence & self-management

• Lived experience of being on a charity board 

• A background working in the charity sector and/or a solid understanding of working in the charity sector

This is a fundamental role within our South East regional team, internally the role is known as Local Community Officer.

The future of CCT’s outstanding collection of historic churches depends on communities supporting their local CCT church with funds, events, inspiring interpretation, visitor services and preventive conservation. The Local Community Officer will engage and support communities and volunteers to care for 26 historic churches across Northamptonshire, West Norfolk, and parts of North Bedfordshire and Western Cambridgeshire, including areas around Northampton, Bedford, Huntingdon, and King’s Lynn.

The post holder will be required to coordinate and attend events across the UK, including our annual national conference in London and other planned regional events throughout the year. Travel and occasional overnight stays may be needed.

Role Purpose

The Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organising, and delivering a varied programme of impactful events for service users, volunteers, and the wider cardiomyopathy community. These include, but are not limited to, supporting logistics, planning and execution of information days, medical education events, webinars, volunteer development days, and the charity’s annual national conference.

The role covers the full lifecycle of event management, from concept and planning through to delivery and evaluation. This includes oversight of event budgets, supplier and stakeholder management, and ensuring all events are delivered to a high standard, on time, and within budget. Events will be delivered both in person and online, so confidence in managing virtual and in-person events is essential.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the charity, the Events Coordinator ensures that every event is accessible, engaging, on budget and aligned with Cardiomyopathy UK’s mission to improve the lives of people affected by cardiomyopathy.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Delivery

• Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to define event objectives, content, themes, budgets, and logistical requirements.
• Plan and deliver a varied programme of events including information days, medical education sessions, webinars, volunteer development days, and the annual national conference.

Job overview

The role will focus  on growing the value of funding from large trusts and foundations globally, as well as from corporate foundations and institutional funders via consortium partnerships with larger conservation actors.

The role will oversee grant and contract management with existing organisational and institutional partnerships, as well as grow this portfolio through developing a robust pipeline of new opportunities, finding creative ways to secure visibility and first meetings, developing relationships, compelling funding applications and ensuring strong contract management oversight.

The role will lead a team of two, work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues based in the US and UK to secure visibility with and develop strong long-term partnerships with new Trusts and Foundations; and work closely with colleagues in Kenya to ensure strong project delivery and grant management. Responsibilities include:

• Lead the implementation of the Trusts & Foundations (T&Fs) programme with a particular focus on growing the portfolio of large T&Fs in the USA, UK and European markets;
• Work with fundraising colleagues across priority markets and with communications colleagues, using innovative and proactive approaches to business development and relationship building to unlock visibility opportunities and develop relationships with new prospects; in order to develop and maintain a strong pipeline of high-value funding opportunities.  
• Continue to oversee the current ‘programme funding’ portfolio which includes existing institutional funding partnerships and corporate foundation relationships in Kenya, ensuring that ongoing and new opportunities where they exist are capitalised on.
• Collaborate closely with and provide technical expertise to Ol Pejeta’s Project Implementation function in Kenya to develop and embed ‘programme funding’ systems, policies, processes, to ensure that the organisation works to the highest standards in grant management;

Role Purpose: Carry out actions in support of the strategy set out in the Business Plan. Key responsibilities include: Strategy and Business Development and to lead the fundraising effort MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work with the Board of Trustees to develop the overall Business Strategy

· Lead the Fundraising programme, with a target income of £100,000 + per annum new funds

· Support the Educational Programme of the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation REPORTING

GENERAL

This is a Sole Trader position which means that the individual must provide their own laptop/computer, phone etc. Appropriate expenses will be reimbursed. This role description is not exhaustive and the successful candidate may be asked to undertake additional appropriate duties as required.

ABOUT The Lindsay Leg Club Foundation was established in December 2004 with the main objective of facilitating and managing the co-ordinated growth of the network of the Leg Clubs and to provide the Clubs with any information and support that they may require. The Foundation achieved charitable status in September 2005, Charity Registration Number: 1111259. Individual Clubs are members of the central Foundation and operate according to the Lindsay Leg Club Model. The model is set out in a practical Handbook which details how Clubs can be established. It includes guidelines on the four key elements of the model, procedures, policies and standards. 

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will be a member of the External Affairs Team. This role is designed to support the development and implementation BABCP’s influencing plan with a view to raising the profile and influence of BABCP amongst policy stakeholders and decision-makers to create positive change in policy. 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

As the Policy and Public Affairs Officer:

• Keep up-to-date with current trends and activities by monitoring parliamentary and local government activity relevant to BABCP in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland; notifying and briefing colleagues of relevant political developments and opportunities to influence
• Support reactive policy work such as drafting consultation responses, parliamentary debate briefings and summaries, and letters to policy makers; working with the Senior Clinical Advisor and the Head of External Affairs.
• Liaise with the member engagement manager and the membership team on policy work ensuring member feedback is embedded into policy work.
• Support the delivery of parliamentary events to publicise BABCP’s work including identifying and engaging key stakeholders, managing attendance, preparing and distributing event information, and post-event follow-up.
• Support the Head of External Affairs and the Senior Clinical Advisor in the implementation of a public affairs influencing plan.
• Raise awareness and the profile of BABCP by identifying, and developing relationships with key stakeholders.
• Deputise for the Head of External Affairs if required, representing BABCP at external meetings.

Person Specification:

• Proven experience in public affairs and policy, preferably within the healthcare, public, or membership sectors.
• Experience of liaising with a range of stakeholders and implementing stakeholder mapping.
• High level of ICT literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and document management systems).
• Strong understanding of UK and/or Irish health policy and parliamentary and legislative processes.
