Salary: £28,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: London (Hybrid working available following probation and business needs)
Contract: Permanent (subject to funding)

We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist London-based charity that supports people experiencing financial hardship through debt advice, money guidance and financial education services.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in debt advice and make a real difference to people's lives. You'll join a supportive team and receive training and ongoing professional development to become a Debt Adviser.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting clients with debt advice appointments and casework.
  • Managing client enquiries and correspondence.
  • Gathering and analysing financial information.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential case records.
  • Providing tailored, client-focused support.
  • Working towards appointment and casework targets.
  • Supporting workshops and other services.
  • Undertaking ongoing training and development.

About you

We're looking for someone who is organised, empathetic and passionate about helping others. Previous debt advice experience isn't essential.

You'll have:

  • Experience in a client-facing or customer service role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Good numeracy and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A commitment to learning and professional development.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.

Experience within the charity, advice or community sector would be advantageous.

Benefits

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Birthday leave.
  • Additional annual leave awarded for each year of service (up to 35 days).
  • 3% employer pension contribution.
  • £200 home office equipment allowance.
  • Costco membership.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements following probation.
  • Comprehensive training and development opportunities.

Please note that occasional evening or weekend work may be required (TOIL provided). This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop specialist skills while supporting people to improve their financial wellbeing.
