Launched two years ago with pilot funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund this service has expanded with additional funding secured until 2027.

This role will be home-based with all necessary IT equipment provided therefore applicants will need an appropriate space to work at home. The families services is delivered mainly online with flexibility required for occasional evening / weekend working to meet the needs of the families we support.

Regular travel will be required to attend events and visit partners to spread the word about the service and build referral pathways nationwide.  There will be occasional travel required for national team meetings in Richmond. These currently take place 3 times a year and require an overnight stay. There will also be periodic in-person meetings with colleagues which can take place at a convenient location locally.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial staff and stakeholders

• Familiarity with housing management systems and practices, as well as of working with Sage 200 would be advantageous

The Role

Job Purpose

Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.

The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm). These times are subject to change, based on the needs and requirements of carers using the service.

The aim of this role is to be part of a team providing a comprehensive information, advice and support to carers in Manchester. The post holder will work alongside colleagues from Gaddum and potentially other organisations to be the first contact in a busy service providing advice via a telephone advice line and managing referrals made through digital sources. They will provide information and advice and refer more complex issues to the appropriate agencies delivering the Manchester Carers Pathway.

Key responsibilities 

Advice giving

• Answering telephone calls into a central helpline offering support and guidance to unpaid carers in Manchester.
• Provide relevant and meaningful support and information to unpaid carers utilising internal and external resources.
• Inform carers about carers assessments and refer where necessary.
• Inform carers about emergency grants available and refer where necessary.
• Ensure all advice and support given is delivered in a timely manner to suit the needs of carers calling the helpline whilst balancing waiting callers.

Follow-up support

• Refer unpaid carers to local services to access local and culturally appropriate support in their area.
• Refer carers to Adult Social Care for Carers Assessments to discuss and improve their caring situation.
• Signpost carers to relevant services in Manchester suited to their individual need.
• Complete relevant grant applications for carers using the service where needed.
• Use Carers Manchester Contact Point and other reliable and accurate resources to find, interpret and communicate relevant information to carers
• Research and explore options and implications so that carers can make informed decisions.

Role Context and Purpose

Following recent and projected growth of the organisation, Gaddum is looking to recruit additional resource within the Central team to bolsters its support to the organisation ensuring delivers safe and high quality services.

The post holder, line managed by the Finance and Resources Director will join the finance team and play a crucial role in the day-to-day financial administration of the charity. You will also play a key role in improving our financial systems and process as we continue to grow. This is a 35 hours per week role, working flexibly and hybrid to suit the needs of the organisation and individual.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

General

• Ensure robust financial administration of all supplier payments and funder receipts including all entries into accounting system to relevant programme and project budgets and the subsequent filing of all payment documentation.

• To provide a professional and comprehensive service in dealing with finance queries raised by suppliers, customers and funders Accounts Payable

• Ensure goods and services invoiced have been ordered and charged in accordance with the approved purchase order • Raise regular BACs payments, ensuring all creditors are paid in accordance with internal policies

• Fulfilling orders and booking requests using company credit card on an adhoc basis

• Record all transactions on SAGE

• Reconcile the creditors account on a regular basis Accounts Receivable

• Ensure all invoices are processed in line with requests

• Record all receipts in SAGE

• Manage credit control function, ensuring that all debts are received in line with internal policies and procedures

Cash Management & Bank

• To oversee the distribution of petty cash when required and reconcile receipts

• Perform bank reconciliation on a regular basis and ensure all payment information is updated

• To support the Finance Assistant (Trust and Grants) in periods of absence

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• To meet regularly with Finance & Resources Director for supervisions

• Undertake additional duties within competence of post holds as required by the Finance & Resources Director

With 20% of Beat’s income coming from major donors, this role is pivotal in fulfilling our mission to make eating disorders a thing of the past.

We are looking for an ambitious and skilled major donor fundraiser who can drive income growth in this area while insuring that our donors receive the best possible care. Many of our donors have personal experience of an eating disorder or of supporting a loved one with one, and are looking to create something positive out of their suffering by helping others. Do you have the sensitivity and creativity to support them to do so? 

Key responsibilities include:

• Create and deliver against a Major Donor strategy, to drive income growth for Beat.

• Generate new business from high net worth individuals by identifying, researching and developing relationships with suitable prospects, and by responding effectively to inbound leads.

• Hold responsibility for the account management of all Major Donor relationships, working alongside the Beat Executive Team and Trustees to utilise their support when added value can be of benefit. 

• Write creative proposals and inspiring reports, by engaging with Beat delivery teams, M&E and finance colleagues in line with our commitments to Donors.
