TRAIN is a youth work charity based in South Oxfordshire. We support young people aged 10 to 18 in Didcot, Wallingford and the surrounding areas, especially those who are under-served.

Young people in our communities are facing complex challenges. Mental health struggles, pressures at school, family instability and the impact of poverty can leave them feeling isolated or overlooked. Too often, they don’t have access to the right support at the right time. TRAIN exists to change that. We offer trusted relationships with adults outside positions of authority, safe spaces where young people can be themselves, and opportunities to grow in confidence, make positive choices and feel part of their community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a key support role in a small, values-driven charity. While most people know TRAIN for its youth work, the smooth running of our organisation depends on good systems, clear admin and reliable behind-the-scenes support. That’s what this role is about.

As Charity Support Officer, you’ll take care of the day-to-day admin that keeps us organised, while also supporting projects and events that help TRAIN grow. Some responsibilities are regular — such as finance processing, HR and volunteer onboarding, responding to enquiries and keeping records accurate. Others will vary week to week, from preparing a funder report to liaising with contractors on a website update or helping coordinate the Didcot Youth Festival.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, adaptable and comfortable juggling different tasks. You won’t be expected to lead major projects or make big decisions, but you will be the first port of call for the small, steady tasks that make a big difference. If you enjoy variety, value attention to detail, and want to play a part in supporting life-changing youth work, this role could be a good fit.

This is a part-time role of 15 hours per week, which can be worked flexibly. The role is based in Didcot or Wallingford with hybrid working. We expect at least some office time each week, but for exceptional candidates, we will consider a fully remote arrangement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Core (day-to-day focus)

• Communications and enquiries – be the first point of contact for general enquiries via email and social media, ensuring timely and professional responses.
• Project coordination and events – Coordinate various ad hoc projects (e.g. website refresh, new systems) and provide support for events such as the Didcot Youth Festival.
• HR and volunteer support – coordinate onboarding for staff and volunteers, including references, DBS checks and inductions.
• Office and building liaison – help keep the Didcot youth centre running smoothly by liaising with the landlord/service manager and handling facilities needs.
• Team support – provide admin support across the CEO, staff and trustees, including scheduling, minute-taking and document preparation.

Important (regular, but secondary to the above)

• Finance administration – support the CEO and our bookkeeper with tasks such as processing invoices, expenses, payments and payroll information.
• Data and monitoring – keep records up to date (attendance, impact data, safeguarding logs) for accurate reporting.
• Comms basics – work with the Fundraising and Communications Coordinator to update the website, draft newsletters and prepare supporter updates.
• Database and records – maintain supporter, volunteer and young people’s contact details.
• Policies and procedures – keep master copies organised and flag review dates.
• Health & safety admin – support with risk assessments, building checks and first aid supplies.

Occasional (as needed)

• Fundraising support – assist with funder reports, donor thank-yous and admin for community events.
• Safeguarding admin – support the Designated Safeguarding Lead with record-keeping and DBS renewals (admin only).
• Governance support – assist with trustee papers, annual returns and filings.
• Supplies and logistics – order office supplies, consumables and manage petty cash/card reconciliation.
• IT and systems – liaise with IT suppliers on logins, backups or new staff accounts.
• Insurance/licensing renewals – track renewal dates and ensure processes are followed.

ABOUT YOU

We don’t expect you to have experience in every area of this role — we know people pick up skills in different ways. What matters most is that you’re organised, reliable and keen to support the team.

Essential qualities

• Organised and detail-focused, able to keep systems and records tidy.
• Good communicator, confident in responding to emails, calls and enquiries in a professional and friendly way.
• Comfortable juggling different tasks and adapting to what’s needed week by week.
• IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Desirable qualities

• Experience of charity administration, finance or HR processes.

• Experience preparing simple reports or supporting fundraising admin.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Leading People Operations: embedding excellent policies and processes, and advisory support

· Provide leadership of the the day-to-day People and Culture team at the Charity, including direct management of the People and Culture Manager, Volunteer Development Manager, and Learning and Engagement Manager.

· Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including engaging Champions Groups e.g. EDI Champions, to make The Charity a great place to work

· Provide senior leadership advisory support to Heads of Teams peers and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure we have the right skills and culture to enable our strategic priorities

· Provide advice, guidance and support to leaders and manager on employment law, people policies and practices, and manage complex employee relations matters as required

· Oversee the management of people operations suppliers, including with payroll and pensions, and setting and tracking the People and Culture budget in support of our people priorities

· Work with the People and Culture Manager to develop and deliver innovative recruitment plans that attract talented and diverse candidates, and inclusive selection and onboarding processes

· Work with the support of the People and Culture Manager to collect and report meaningful people data to inform decision-making, supporting retention and engagement.

· Work with the People and Culture Manager to evaluate, develop and manage wellbeing programmes that support the physical, mental, and emotional health of The Charity team

Leading and delivering people and culture projects

· Support the Director of People and Culture to lead and deliver projects and initiatives in support of The Charity’s EDI plan, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within The Charity, and working to ensure that our team reflects the diverse communities that we serve.

· Lead change management projects, whether that’s supporting organisational growth, redesign to support capacity and capability for the future, or responding to external challenges

The Assistant Director, as a member of the organisation's senior leadership, will contribute and participate in strategy, planning, budgeting, decision-making and evaluation. You will specifically support the Heads of Partnerships, Appeal, and Philanthropy on the continued delivery and development of the overall Fundraising Strategy while also contributing directly to the success of the new appeal, scheduled to launch in February 2026. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, you will manage a very successful team that is surpassing targets and ambitions in a supportive and positive working environment.

The best person for this position will have a strategic mindset to lead and grow a portfolio of activities, with a track record of leading successful fundraisers and fundraising teams within an appeal setting. You will have expertise in major and principal gift fundraising and will have a track record of achieving targets year on year and growing income. The selected candidate will be an excellent communicator and will be confident in communicating complex technical information to general audiences.

The Finance Officer will have overall responsibility for entering all financial data in to Quickbooks, through to balance sheet stage. We are looking for an experienced book keeper, who can work with little supervision, and is able to manage workload to meet reporting deadlines. Duties and Responsibilities

• To enter, process and post invoices, expenses forms and requests for payment • Record income and expenditure

• Maintain and reconcile direct debits, to investigate and resolve discrepancies

• Maintain the petty cash system

• Undertake BACS payment runs

• Reconcile supplier statements to purchase ledger balances and resolve discrepancies

Brief Description/Summary

As Patient Service Co-ordinator you will be responsible for managing referrals from our service users, who are all those affected by kidney disease in Wales, including children, youths, adults, and families. You will build and maintain constructive working relationships with people who use our services, people with kidney disease, carers, colleagues, and community networks

Our Patient Service Co-ordinator acts as a vital liaison, responsible for managing all referrals from our service users, identifying the support needed, facilitating appointments for peer support and counselling, communicating between patients, referrers, volunteer peer mentors and counsellors. Referring patients to internal services as well as external organisations. Other duties include providing general advice and guidance, developing links with external providers, organisation or individuals that can support our kidney community of Wales, administrative support include assisting accessing healthcare services, maintaining referral records, and resolving referral concerns to support efficient and effective care.

As Patient Services Co-ordinator you will also build relationships with Health Care Professionals to help raise awareness of our services, building our referral partners to ensure all patients are supported at the point of need.

Salary is Grade 1 to Grade 2, based on a 40 hour work week with paid breaks. It is also based on experience.

As Fundraising and Communications Coordinator, your main focus will be trusts and foundations: researching opportunities, writing persuasive applications and producing clear reports. You’ll also play a part in growing support from corporates, community fundraising, individual donors and major gifts, helping to build a broader base of income over time.

Alongside this, you’ll lead on communications. That means keeping our website and social channels current, producing supporter newsletters, and sharing our story more widely through PR and campaigns. You’ll help make sure the difference TRAIN makes for young people is seen and understood by funders, partners and the local community.

It’s a hands-on role, well-suited to someone who enjoys writing, building relationships and juggling different projects. You don’t need to be an experienced fundraiser — we’re open to people with transferable skills, whether from corporate, public or third sector backgrounds. What matters most is that you can communicate clearly, organise your workload, and are motivated by making a difference for young people.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with the rest of the team. This is a part-time role of approximately 30 hours per week, which can be worked flexibly. The role is based in Didcot with hybrid working, but for the right candidate we will consider a fully remote arrangement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising (approx. 80%)

• Pipeline and planning – work with the CEO to keep a clear fundraising plan, with trusts and foundations as the main focus alongside manageable growth in corporates, community, and individual giving.
• Trusts and foundations – research prospects, build a live pipeline, and write strong, tailored bids. Prepare accurate budgets and gather evidence from the team to strengthen proposals.
• Reporting and stewardship – deliver timely reports, thank funders and donors well, and manage renewals and uplift opportunities.
• Relationship development – nurture links with local businesses, community groups and potential major donors. Prepare simple proposals and support fundraising events or activities as needed.
• Systems and compliance – maintain accurate records of applications, deadlines and outcomes. Ensure fundraising activity is compliant with GDPR and charity regulations.

Communications (approx. 20%)

• Supporter communications – produce engaging newsletters, updates and thank-yous that connect donors and partners with TRAIN’s impact.
• Digital presence – update the website and social media channels with accurate, timely content that reflects TRAIN’s work and values.
• PR and profile – share stories with local media, partners and networks. Ensure TRAIN’s messaging is clear, consistent and accessible.
• Community engagement – promote TRAIN’s profile, youth offer, brand and presence in the community.

General

• Work closely with the CEO to align fundraising and comms priorities.
• Collaborate with youth work staff to gather stories, quotes and data that demonstrate TRAIN’s impact.
• Represent TRAIN at meetings and community events.

About the Role

As a Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the manager in the running of a 16+ residential service, and deputising when the manager is not available, to ensure the delivery of high quality transition services for young people, promoting their independence and increasing life skills.

Age UK Croydon’s very successful Personal Safety Project (Falls Prevention) for older people in Croydon is recruiting a new Senior Personal Safety Assessor. If you are an enthusiastic, passionate and organised individual, this could be the role for you.

Our Personal Safety Project (PSP) is a free service which aims to help older people who have fallen or are at risk of falling at home. The service is available to anyone aged 50 and over who lives in the borough of Croydon.

Our trained assessors carry out a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential causes of falls and hazards in the home and can arrange for stair rails, grab handles and other necessary aids and adaptations to be supplied and/or fitted, free of charge. The project can provide ongoing telephone support for up to six weeks to monitor the risk of further falls post engagement.

Role Overview

This senior, hands-on role will lead our corporate fundraising, winning, growing, and stewarding strategic partnerships that deliver both income and impact. You’ll shape a clear offer for businesses (from White City Innovation District players to household names), design engaging staff experiences, and tell the story of one partnership → borough-wide impact. You’ll work closely with the CEO, trustees and colleagues in Partnerships/Grants, Impact and Comms. You’ll also have delivery resources to succeed: access to consultancy for prospect research, bid support, creative, etc., and a campaign/event budget.

Targets & Trajectory (guiding KPIs):

• Income: £75k–£125k secured within 18 months; £150k–£200k by end of year two.

• Portfolio: 15+ active corporate relationships; 95% retention.

• Pipeline: Balanced mix of local (e.g., White City Innovation District) and London-wide corporates. 

• Engagement: Deliver 1–2 cultivation events/year with team and trustee involvement.

 Key Responsibilities

1) New Business & Pipeline

• Build and manage a tiered prospect pipeline (e.g., Disney, Imperial College London, L’Oréal; innovation district and borough anchor institutions).

• Lead outreach, discovery, and tailored proposals for £10k–£50k+ partnerships (CIC/CSR/ESG, sponsorship, skills/volunteering, payroll giving, in-kind, cause-related marketing).

• Co-create compelling value propositions and packages (local stories + measurable outcomes + staff engagement).

• Use the consultancy budget strategically (e.g., research, copy/design, senior introductions) to accelerate conversion. 

2) Account Management & Stewardship

• Provide excellent partner experience and stewardship plans; agree on KPIs/MOUs and deliverables; renew and grow multi-year partnerships.

• Design staff engagement that goes beyond volunteering: insight sessions, youth-led events, site visits, mentoring, pro-bono sprints.

• Work with Impact to evidence results (dashboards, case studies, SROI), and with Comms on brand-aligned content and events.

3) Strategy, Governance & Reporting

• Own the corporate income plan aligned to our Revenue Growth Strategy (with realistic quarterly milestones and early-warning triggers).

• Track pipeline and income on the CRM; produce quarterly RAG dashboards for the Task Force/Board.

• Uphold ethical screening and brand alignment; ensure legal/compliance and safeguarding standards are met. 

4) Internal & External Collaboration

• Partner with Partnerships & Grants to align offers and avoid duplication (trusts/consortia insight sharing).

• Leverage the CEO and trustees for warm introductions; brief and support them for pitches/cultivation.

• Champion youth voice and member benefits in every partnership.

Borders Forest Trust (BFT) are recruiting for a new Chief Executive .

BFT is a charity established to restore native woodland habitats to Southern Scotland, an area with the lowest percentage of native woodlands in mainland Scotland. Since 1996, we have been working towards planting trees, restoring peatlands and other natural habitats, enriching the biological diversity of around 31 sq km in the Southern Uplands. They demonstrate large scale ecological restoration in action, and inspire landowners, statutory bodies, local communities and policy makers to embrace this alternative model for land use and conservation.

The charity’s previous Director has led the organisation for five years, and BFT are in a strong position, ready to develop a new organisational strategy and grow. This is a role of great strategic importance to the charity and the role is varied, with a broad remit.  

The Chief Executive role has organisational responsibility for 12 members of staff, some office based but most out and about across the countryside in which BFT works.  

As Chief Executive, you’ll bring proven senior leadership experience and the ability to get the best from staff and volunteers. A natural communicator, you’ll engage confidently with a wide range of people – from volunteers and donors to policymakers and conservation experts. 

You’ll have experience generating significant income in the not-for-profit sector, alongside strengths in strategic planning and programme development. Your Responsibilities:

· Develop and deliver engaging fundraising campaigns and activities for community groups and individuals.

• Develop a robust pipeline of funding applications, securing grants from trusts and foundations.

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop social media content that engages supporters.
