Galapagos Conservation Trust (GCT) is looking for a proactive individual with good storytelling skills to produce fundraising applications and reports that inspire. As part of GCT’s Fundraising & Communications team, you will work closely with the Senior Development Manager to secure grant funding from Trusts & Foundations across our programme portfolio (including island restoration, community resilience, ocean protection and plastic pollution topics), with an increasing focus on securing multi-year funding to embed sustainability in our programme delivery.
You will be a great writer, researcher and comfortable working with numbers, enabling you to identify new fundraising opportunities and develop engaging proposals and reports with clear budgets. You will also be an organised individual with great attention to detail, ensuring you can effectively balance your time across competing deadlines and tasks.
We are looking for someone with:

Key responsibilities:

Increasing restricted & unrestricted income from Trusts & Foundations in line with GCT’s fundraising strategy with the Senior Development Manager

Supporting keeping our database, internal documents and files up-to-date and GDPR compliant for Trusts & Foundations and external contacts.

Producing high quality proposals and reports, ensuring consultation of key GCT team members and partners in their development, and submitting these to meet all deadlines.

Support the Senior Development Manager with applications for multi-year grants, such as writing and budget inputs, Theory of Change inputs and organising supplementary materials.

Helping to maintain excellent relationships with existing funders via bespoke outreach and thank you letters, project updates as appropriate, and semi-regular communications on GCT materials/events.

Proactively researching potential funders and supporting the Senior Development Manager and Senior Leadership Team members on their cultivation.

Reviewing fundraising success from Trusts & Foundations and developing annual fundraising plans with the Senior Development Manager.

Supporting the Senior Development Manager with Trusts & Foundations income and fundraising pipeline updates to GCT’s Senior Leadership Team and Trustees as required.

When grants are successful, lead or support the Senior Development Manager with handover actions to the Programmes team to ensure project budgets, timelines and donor expectations are clear.

The Opportunity
This role is central to shaping and delivering the Social Mobility Foundation’s media, public affairs, and campaigning work, alongside the Campaigns Manager. You will influence changemakers - including politicians and journalists - through strategic media, political, and social media interventions. You will also collaborate with our Young Campaigners to amplify their voices and co-create impactful campaigns with them that drive systemic change.
1. Helping to plan and deliver campaigns activity, both planned and reactive, including:
- Organising campaign events e.g. Parliamentary receptions and communicating our campaigns online and on social media.
- Assisting the Campaigns Manager to commission research and polling support our campaigning.
- Monitoring parliamentary activity, and horizon scanning - considering how political developments may affect our campaigning work, providing opportunities and risks.
2. Leading our media work to maximise the impact of our campaigning, building awareness of social mobility as an issue amongst influential and informed audiences:
- Developing and executing media and communication plans to support our campaign goals.
- Monitoring the media and responding to stories that allow us to land our key messages, share our point of view and platform SMF young people.
- Responding to requests from journalists for comment and advising and briefing members of staff on how to respond.
3. Co-create campaigns alongside our Young Campaigners and engage them in delivering and designing campaign activity:
- Developing and facilitate spaces for our Young Campaigners to co-create campaign activities and take actions to influence changemakers.
- Working with young people to share their experiences, through speaking at events and other campaigning opportunities.
- Training and supporting young people to speak to the media, ensuring safeguarding processes are embedded and providing follow up pastoral support where needed.

Person Specification

About the role
As part of our mission to break down barriers to university access and address wider educational inequalities, the Social Mobility & Widening Participation (SMWP) department has developed a dedicated strand of place-based outreach. This approach, rooted in the specific needs of local communities, is becoming increasingly impactful across King’s and is gaining recognition across the sector. Through our Access & Participation Plan 2025–2029, we have made ambitious commitments to expand our place-based work to improve young people’s educational outcomes and tackle barriers to university access and broader social inequalities.
Our place-based approach focuses on addressing localised challenges such as mental health, pathways to citizenship, access to English language provision, and employment and fair wages. We work in close partnership with South London Citizens to achieve this shared mission. This role leads the development and delivery of collaborative, community-led initiatives and supports the wider integration of this approach across King’s. Through these initiatives, the postholder empowers community members to design, launch, and sustain impactful campaigns that respond directly to local needs. They will work closely with Citizens UK organisers and colleagues across King’s to build strong partnerships and drive meaningful, place-based change, including engagement in broader local, regional, and national initiatives.
Using community organising methodology, the postholder will lead and expand our core place-based programmes: Parent Power South London and Empoderando Familias, delivered with South London Citizens, and EmpowerESOL, facilitated in collaboration with internal King’s teams. A key focus will also be the strategic growth of our flagship Parent Power programme into new regions, in partnership with The Brilliant Club. This initiative empowers parents and carers to engage actively in their children’s education while building networks of community organisers who drive change locally and nationally.
At the heart of this role is a commitment to collaboration and community, both external and internal, as powerful drivers of social impact. The postholder will also support and develop the WP Champions Network, a university-wide staff community passionate about social mobility. By curating resources, delivering training, and shaping its strategic vision, they will help embed widening participation across King’s, amplifying its impact within and beyond the university.

JOB PURPOSE
The role of the Start Ready Advisor is to support the Start Ready Manager in delivering the day-to-day operations of the Start Ready financial mechanism. This innovative global pooled fund allows our members to anticipate and respond to crises of a predictable nature (such as droughts, heatwaves, floods, and cyclones) through rapidly activating prepositioned funds using forecasts.
This role is line managed by the Start Ready Manager and works alongside the Start Ready Officer to help deliver the operational, technical, and coordination tasks of the fund. The postholder will support the BAU tasks – leading key aspects of it – to ensure the mechanism is functioning effectively and completing the annual workplan, whilst advising the development and improvements of the standard operations.
The Start Ready Advisor will work closely with many internal teams of Start Network, Start Network members, and external partners to ensure that Start Ready meets its programmatic goals.

About the Role
As a Floating Support Worker, you will work with adults who have experienced homelessness to help them maintain their accommodation and improve their quality of life. Supporting people across the seven West London boroughs, you’ll provide tailored, person-centred support that empowers people to live more independently.
Key Deliverables include:
• Interview and assess clients in order to determine suitability for the service.
• Following initial assessment to go through a programme of work with clients accepted to cover accommodation needs, independent living skills, support with work and learning and social and emotional issues, then subsequent referrals to relevant agencies.
• Where clients have moved in to accommodation, the worker will provide support through a programme of regular visits. These may include support and advice or more structured life-skills training as required.
• To be available to deal with clients who need help or advice, either by phone or on a drop-in basis.
• Create a package of support around the client, signposting where appropriate.
• To be available to represent Depaul UK at meetings concerning the client, supporting or advocating on their behalf.
• Keep clear and relevant records and statistics, and to ensure good communication with the project workers and project evaluators.
• Make a positive contribution to team meetings, Case management meetings and make a contribution to any policy reviews and consultations.
About You
You’ll be committed to supporting vulnerable people to build their confidence and independence. You’ll also bring:
• Able to work on own initiative but at same time able to exercise sound judgement in knowing when to consult with peers and clients to meet the service KPI’s
• A clear understanding and ability to implement risk management, information sharing and data security arrangements.
• Awareness of and commitment to equal opportunity and diversity practise. Ability to promote and implement diversity practice and policies and treat colleagues and clients fairly and with respect.
