The Role

This is a key role acting as a delivery partner on our projects, working on streams of community work across the Midlands, and within the staff team. 

Responsibilities

• Projects and Workstreams: Overseeing and ensuring outstanding delivery on multiple community projects through Flood Action Groups and Multi-Agency Meetings. Support and manage data collection that meets the aims of each project.
• Community Engagement: Engage and empower flooded and at-risk communities, supporting and representing them and pushing for the best outcomes.  Being ambitious on their behalf and advocating for change.
• Report Writing: Ensure reports are on time and are to depth and quality required.
• Staff Training: Support staff and training manager to ensure comprehensive and appropriate training takes place to ensure continuous professional development. 
• Team Management: Line manage staff, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Modelling behaviours and driving forward team development.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Manage and develop key stakeholder relationships, ensuring strong partnerships and leading on communications.
• Political and Fundraising Support: Provide data, case studies, and research to support political influencing and fundraising activities. Contribute to and attend policy, political and strategic meetings.  Support fundraising activities through providing data and information. 
• Income: Identify future income opportunities, sharing information and building relationships for new projects or new income streams with Senior Management Team.  
• Support Senior Management Team proactive role to support to deliver NFF objectives.

Day-to-Day Activities

· You will manage and support Flood Engagement Officers to deliver their projects and work streams and managing development pathways for team members.

• Liaise and develop relationships with stakeholders to ensure smooth operational and community engagement activities.
• Support Senior Management Team to build income streams and develop new activity. Working to develop, support and deliver NFF strategy
• Providing information and case studies for communications and advocacy work

· You will be acting as the main contact for projects and agreed activities.

The National Flood Forum (NFF) is the only independent national charity dedicated to supporting and representing people at risk of flooding.  Established in 2002 by those affected by flooding, we passionately put people at the heart of flood risk management. Our goal is to empower individuals and communities to recover from flooding and get the best possible outcomes. We put people first.  We act as an honest, trustworthy and independent broker on behalf of flooded people.

With over 300 Flood Action Groups across England and Wales and handling more than 1000 calls annually through our helpline, NFF plays a crucial role in supporting and representing flood-affected and at-risk communities. About you

Do you have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills? Do you enjoy interacting with supporters and building lasting relationships?   Want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma, an incurable blood cancer, to live longer and better lives? 

Myeloma UK is looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to join our growing Community and Events team.  You’ll be joining the team as we continue to refine and expand our mass participation events portfolio including London Paris Ride, Great North Run and 100 miles for myeloma. You will have experience in event delivery or project planning, delivering these activities within tight deadlines while successfully building effective relationships.

The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team.  You will be self-motivated and able to work remotely with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks and having an interest in sporting and mass participation fundraising events.

Previous experience or knowledge of digital marketing, virtual fundraising events and using Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM system would be an advantage but not essential. 

About the role

As the Events Fundraiser you will be required to research, promote and deliver fundraising events, campaigns and activities, providing excellent stewardship to supporters, whilst working to help achieve monthly fundraising income targets.  You will work to deliver an annual calendar of runs, walks, challenge and sporting events across the UK as well increasing support through Myeloma UK virtual and Facebook events.

The role holder will work with the Senior Event Development Fundraiser to provide the highest quality of event delivery as well as developing relationships, securing support, marketing, delivering and monitoring the event ensuring post event evaluation and future recommendations are made.  They will also work closely with Community Fundraisers, supporting them as they identify opportunities to expand and diversify their fundraising portfolio.

You will work with other teams, develop materials required to support all marketing and promotion of events, ensuring organisational brand, style and key messages are adopted and ensure maximum use of database and other technology to increase operational efficiency within event fundraising.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

This is primarily a remote working role and we are seeking someone who is self-motivated, with the ability to work unsupervised and manage their own workload and diary.

You’ll be someone who enjoys getting out and about all around the UK to meet people, including overnight stays. You’ll regularly visit all 19 of the Paediatric and 30 Adult neurosciences centres, attend conferences and be welcomed to our head office in Fleet (Hampshire).

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of collaborative working across multiple sectors. Using these enhanced communication skills, you will develop further the existing network which promotes Young Adult/Paediatric Neuro-Oncology best practice and fosters peer networks and support. You’ll influence service improvement and patient care to achieve better outcomes for patients’ quality of life.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develop new opportunities to work in partnership with Young Adult/Paediatric neuroscience centres, treatment centres and hospitals to drive best practice in Young Adult/Paediatric brain tumour care which focuses on improved outcomes and quality of life
• Further develop the Young Adult/Paediatric healthcare professional network, ensuring we develop and maintain productive relationships.
• Work collaboratively internally & externally to understand the needs of different healthcare audiences. Work with teams across the organisation to develop engagement tools & activities to increase knowledge & confidence in brain tumours
• Help build new networks to allow us to actively influence service improvement and patient care to achieve better outcomes for the patient’s quality of life
• Coordinate & facilitate engagement activities with healthcare professionals to gather actionable insights, develop surveys and produce hospital reports
• Work in conjunction with the Tessa Jowell Centres of Excellence and other external professionals to support the development and delivery of continuous professional development. Ensure the delivery of this programme of work reaches our target audiences and enables sustainable improvements to the delivery of patient centred care
• Keep and maintain high quality records for reporting on key performance indicators and other methods of evaluation

Role overview 

This role will play a pivotal part in delivering upReach’s new volunteering strategy, which unifies four historic strands (mentoring, Alumni, CSR-funded volunteering, and Programme Employer Partnerships) into a single, coherent framework.

Core Responsibilities

The Volunteering Programme Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the professional mentoring programme and Alumni Programme can operate smoothly and effectively, and for implementing our volunteering strategy to engage supporters in our work. 

You will be responsible for line managing team members working on upReach’s mentoring programme and Alumni Programme, and will work closely with the Programmes and Impact Enabling teams to ensure that volunteering opportunities are unified and cohesive.

1) MENTORING PROGRAMMES

• Provide strategic and operational oversight of upReach’s two mentoring programmes, Professional Mentoring (structured 6-month matches) and Ask an Expert (one-off interactions with professionals initiated by students).

• Manage stakeholder relationships with mentoring partners, ensuring a smooth and high-quality experience for all volunteers.

• Collaborate with Programmes and Partnerships teams to ensure that our mentoring supply and demand is balanced, identifying opportunities for development and working with teams to plan this.

• Produce robust and detailed reporting for participating partner employers on an ongoing basis, increasing the chances of renewals.

• Embed the professional mentoring programme within the wider volunteering framework, ensuring it complements Alumni and open access volunteering opportunities while maintaining the value of partner-funded packages.

2) ALUMNI PROGRAMME

• Provide strategic oversight and direction for the Alumni Programme, ensuring it aligns with upReach’s volunteering strategy and organisational goals.

• Ensure Alumni are engaged through a range of activities, including professional development opportunities, the Alumni Ambassador Board, and tailored communications.

• Oversee the creation and implementation of Alumni volunteering opportunities, ensuring these are impactful and complement wider partner-funded activity.

• Collaborate with Programmes, Fundraising, and MarComms teams to ensure Alumni engagement supports Associate development, fundraising, and long-term organisational sustainability.

• Monitor Alumni engagement data and outcomes, ensuring robust reporting to funders, stakeholders, and the Leadership Team.

3) VOLUNTEERING

• Implement our refreshed volunteering strategy, working in collaboration with the Partnerships, Fundraising and Programmes teams to ensure this meets the needs of the charity.

• Act as the first point of contact for all volunteer enquiries.

• Oversee the volunteer journey from attraction to offboarding, including clear onboarding, safeguarding processes, engagement activities, and recognition (e.g. events, certificates, digital acknowledgements).

• Conduct ongoing evaluation of volunteering activities and implement improvements as necessary.

• Collaborate with other teams across the organisation to identify opportunities for volunteers, and support with implementing this.

• Manage relationships with volunteers and organisations, ensuring positive experiences for all those involved with upReach in this capacity.

• Pilot and evaluate new open access volunteering initiatives, tracking impact through defined KPIs and reporting mechanisms.

• Work with Fundraising and MarComms teams to develop strategies for recognition, retention, and long-term ambassador engagement of volunteers.

4) LINE MANAGEMENT

• Manage relevant individuals within the Mentoring and Alumni team, providing ongoing personal and professional development support through weekly 1-to-1 calls or meetings, written feedback on documents, and day-to-day guidance via Slack. 

• Use relevant impact dashboards and data to set priorities for your team and to identify areas where support from the Programmes team is needed, to ensure that all internal KPIs are achieved.

• Managing the performance of your team - including setting SMART professional development goals and utilising a range of resources and tools where necessary to help your team perform successfully in their roles. Be part of the upReach Leadership Team and contribute to forming the strategy and direction of the charity. 

• Provide leadership in embedding volunteering as a strategic pillar of upReach’s mission, ensuring sustainability, scalability, and alignment with organisational growth.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to join a small, friendly, and dynamic team in a varied role. You will work closely with the two Fundraising Managers (one focused on Trusts and Foundations and the other Corporate Partnerships) and the Development Director to support corporate, trust, foundation, and individual fundraising efforts. The role offers the opportunity to contribute across a broad range of fundraising activities and, depending on your interests and experience, take ownership of key tasks and projects.

Joining during a time of growth and strategic development, you will have the chance to be part of the implementation of a new Fundraising Strategy. In the role you will:

Assist the team across the fundraising function supporting corporate, trust, foundation, community and individual fundraising activities.

About You

As Senior Philanthropy Manager you will lead on the management and delivery of our highly successful Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) campaign. You will work closely with an exceptional board of senior volunteers from the insurance industry to deliver the campaign strategy. You will lead on securing income from personal philanthropy and Trusts from within the industry, working closely with Board members on peer-to-peer advocacy.

In addition, the role has oversight and input to all IUAD campaign activities - including communications, events and corporate partnerships. This is a home-based role with occasional travel to London to attend meetings with colleagues or stakeholders, with travel costs paid for by the Society. Although this is a 12-month fixed term contract, we regularly recruit for roles in this area internally so there may be the opportunity to secure a permanent role during the contract duration.

About you
Joining us, you’ll have proven success in raising five and six figure gifts from major donors or equivalent. You’ll have experience of managing fundraising, engagement and stewardship strategies combined with the ability to identify and maximise funding opportunities to meet and exceed targets. You’ll also have good organisation skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyse financial information and present proposals in an accessible format.

Crucially for this role you’ll be an effective and engaging communicator with the ability to influence, negotiate and act diplomatically with senior stakeholders and high-level donors. You’ll have a high level of emotional intelligence and good interpersonal skills, enabling you to network and build credible, positive relationships and build rapport quickly and with a warmth that makes supporters feel valued and connected with a cause over a long period of time.

What you’ll focus on:

- Working with IUAD board members to deliver IUAD campaign strategy, meeting annual fundraising targets for the campaign.
- In conjunction with board members, leading the growth and development of the philanthropic income stream of the IUAD campaign, extending and uplifting current donors and broadening networks to secure new donors to deliver budgeted income.
- Overseeing progress of all additional campaign activities including corporate partnerships, events and communications, working closely with the Development Board Lead to ensure campaign objectives and fundraising targets are met.
- Managing the IUAD Board, in consultation with the Development Board Lead, to lead on recruitment, engagement, and relationship management, to ensure strong working relationships with all board members.
- Delivering first class account management of major donors and board members, creating engagement and cultivation strategies.
- Managing the Fundraising Development Manager, supporting them to meet their objectives and encouraging their development.

TRC Sexual Abuse & Rape Support Greater Manchester are currently recruiting a trauma-informed, person-centred Counsellor to deliver essential and life-saving counselling for survivors of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse. The Counsellor will be engaged in a sessional contract with TRC Sexual Abuse & Rape Support Greater Manchester, with a minimum commitment of 4 sessions a week for 1 year. Sessions can be based at our office space in Trafford or virtually from your own confidential space.

Session payments vary from £30-£40 dependant on session type and time.
