Senior Stewardship Manager for Mighty Hikes

We’re looking for an experienced and results-driven stewardship manager with excellent project management skills to oversee the delivery and development of our multi-channel stewardship campaign, registration platform and website for the 2026 series.

About the role

This role is responsible for leading our Programme Manager and Officer to plan, build and optimise our multi-channel stewardship journey – covering email, outbound calling, SMS and direct mail. You will also work in close collaboration with our Product and Digital teams to manage and develop our website and registration platform.

A typical week in this role might involve:

• Overseeing the delivery of project plan tasks across different stakeholders, to make sure everyone is meeting set KPIs and working to deadline
• Managing our relationship with our registration platform provider, using data and insight to identify improvement
• Working with creative agencies to brief and produce assets, using audience insights, that will inspire people to fundraise for their Mighty Hike
• Managing expenditure budgets to ensure spend is tracking accurately against different suppliers
• Using JustGiving data to report on fundraising performance and identify opportunities to drive growth and test new activations
• Leading on meetings with internal and external stakeholders to present the Mighty Hikes and inspire high levels of engagement and support

This role does require weekend work (although not at your desk) as you’ll be out and about cheering on our participants. A full UK driver’s license is preferred and a willingness to drive a van is a bonus. You will be compensated for your weekend work with days in lieu.

About you

We are looking for an experienced stewardship manager with a passion for project management, strong account management skills and understanding of digital optimisation.

• Stewardship skills: experience delivering multi-channel stewardship campaigns with personalisation based on customer segments
• Digital skills: experience with website management and a strong understanding of digital optimisation and SEO
• Financial skills: proven track-record of hitting financial targets and managing expenditure budgets

You'll also have an opportunity to learn more about campaigning as a craft at Small Axe across creative, production and organising. 

Occasionally that will mean getting stuck into helping to produce campaign events like petition hand-ins or creative stunts, conferences or film and photoshoots. You might build relationships with spokespeople and feed into campaign strategy.

About the role

Last year we launched a new website which provides independent online information, advice and support for kinship carers. This year, we’re continuing to develop new advice and information content for the website, as well as working on content for projects that focus on supporting kinship carers.

• Work with other fundraising teams to ensure relationships with supporters are managed effectively, both by responding to enquiries promptly and by working to the agreed supporter communications plan. To succeed in this role, you will have:

Role Description

The role of a programme coordinator is ensuring the smooth running of all programme related events. About The Role

Legacies are one of the most vital sources of income for the Royal British Legion, helping us continue our work supporting the Armed Forces community. We’re now looking for a Legacy Management Officer to join our dedicated team and ensure that every gift left to the charity is managed with care, professionalism, and in line with the wishes of our supporters.

In this role, you’ll take responsibility for a varied caseload of legacy files, from straightforward pecuniary gifts through to more complex residuary estates, foreign assets, and occasionally contentious cases. You’ll be the point of contact for executors, solicitors, other charities and beneficiaries, ensuring estates are administered correctly and that the Legion receives its full entitlement. Alongside this, you’ll play an important role in protecting our reputation and maintaining the trust of our supporters and their families.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in Wills, Probate and Trusts, or legacy administration, whether that’s from a legal practice or a charity environment. Strong knowledge of inheritance tax, estate accounts and the wider legal framework is essential, along with excellent attention to detail and the confidence to make decisions on complex issues. You’ll also need to be highly organised, resilient under pressure and able to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.

You will be contracted to our London hub. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.

About the Role

Location: Hybrid – London office with flexibility for majority remote working

Reporting to: Head of Fundraising and Communications

The Individual Giving programme is in its early stages, having launched in October 2023. Some initial foundation-building and activity has been completed, and the organisation is now seeking an Individual Giving Manager to develop and grow this function into a key fundraising stream.

This role is perfect for an ambitious fundraiser who is ready to build a programme from the ground up and who is motivated by the opportunity to deliver meaningful change for LGBTQ+ communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a robust Individual Giving strategy to support fundraising growth over the next three years.
• Lead on digital fundraising, including paid social, paid search, and email campaigns.
• Manage donor acquisition and retention activity, optimising supporter journeys and testing new approaches.
• Collaborate with the communications and frontline teams to create compelling fundraising content.
• Support the use and development of Salesforce CRM for fundraising purposes.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will bring proven experience in Individual Giving and be ready to take the lead on a growing programme. Key qualities include:

• Experience of developing and delivering successful Individual Giving strategies.
• Strong knowledge of digital fundraising and supporter journeys.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
• Experience using fundraising databases (Salesforce preferred).
• Understanding of and commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and equity.
• A self-starter with the resilience to thrive in a mission-driven environment.

There is no line management responsibility at present. The role sits within a Fundraising and Communications team of three.

Interview Process

The selection process will involve a two-stage interview, including a panel discussion and a task-based assessment.
