We are looking to appoint a new Head of Fundraising and Communications to lead a very capable, motivated and collaborative team  and provide strategic leadership to develop an integrated approach between fundraising, communications and athletes/alumni engagement.

Over the last two years we have developed a new fundraising strategy, new partnership models and won an incredibly exciting strategic partnership opportunity that will deliver impact for 60,000 young athletes. Your focus will be on:

· Building community fundraising and alumni engagement and support the implementation of corporate partnerships plans

· Ensuring the fundraising team are fully equipped with the tools they need: a strong case for support, accurate financial and impact reports, consistent and engaging brand and communication assets

· Leading on the development of a new SportsAid communications and digital strategy, so it has a comprehensive narrative for SportsAid, translated into key messages that underpin the charity’s aims and objectives.

Project

The free Financial and Wellbeing Support Service in Epsom and Ewell combines the specialist mental health support with expert benefits and money advice from Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell (CAEE) to support clients during a difficult time. This three-year project is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

The Role

• Increase financial resilience and independence.

• Improve overall mental and/or emotional wellbeing.

• Reduce stress and anxiety.

• Increase engagement with local community and local services

• Reduce social isolation.

• Help clients to feel more informed about how to manage finances and wellbeing in future.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work in partnership with the Citizens Advice to support people with their mental health who are experiencing financial difficulties.

• Manage a caseload of clients.

• Work with individuals and their carers around their mental health and social circumstances.

• Create a non-clinical person centred support plan around the individual, guided by the individual’s needs.

• Cultivate relationships with, and work with, other services around social wellbeing support for clients.

• Work with clients as the lead professional involved in their care, bridging to other services and opportunities and working closely with other organisations already involved.

• Aim to remove practical and physical barriers that arise from lack of resource at the community level.

About You

You will have a minimum of 2 years community experience of mental health and wellbeing, and/or a qualification in appropriate subject i.e., counselling, psychology, social work, mental health, Health and Social Care (level 3)

SUN was launched in 2021 and is a service delivered by MFT and SABP for people with difficulties associated with the diagnosis of personality disorder. The innovative SUN service is based on therapeutic community principles and members are expected to both give and receive support as part of their membership. 

The Role

The SUN facilitator with lived experience will be working closely with a SUN specialist clinician to deliver regular Service User Network (SUN) support groups in different community-based locations across Surrey and North East Hampshire.

SUN provides community-based, open access facilitated peer support groups and aims to help people develop effective ways of coping and improve their relationship with themselves and others.

We are looking for individuals who are highly resilient and are confident in sustaining an emotionally demanding paid role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Co-deliver regular SUN support groups in the community, both face to face and online, with a clinical facilitator.

• Work in collaboration with the co-facilitator and the SUN members.

• Use own lived experience of mental health problems associated with a diagnosis of personality disorder to support the development and knowledge of the service and wider services.

• Contribute to ensuring that any potential risk is being constantly assessed within a culture of positive risk taking and shared responsibility.

The successful candidate will be working with adults in a residential setting delivering assessments, group sessions and one-to-one therapy to those admitted to the service. The post-holder will offer an intensive, abstinent-based programme with high levels of group therapy and a strong emphasis on aftercare support. The role will include facilitating specialist psycho-educational groups, 12 step, relapse prevention therapeutic groups and individual counselling sessions.

You will work closely with our Supported Housing team and be required to participate in regular team meetings. You will also be required to liaise with external agencies and work creatively to provide the most appropriate treatment plans for clients with complex needs. You may be required to cover occasional evening Aftercare groups.

Main Responsibilities
•  Undertake assessments of people entering the service through various referral sources.
•  Develop, facilitate, and review a group work programme that meets the needs of our clients. These might include dual diagnosis, trauma, cross-addiction, criminal justice issues and various types of substance use.
•  Provide a holistic package of care to people which meets their needs and includes working with colleagues across other teams to help residents with diversionary activities, employment, training, and education.
•  Work with the Supported Housing team to ensure residents are safe, secure, and maintain their tenancies and are prepared to move onto independent living.
•  Provide a range of one-to-one interventions that might include MI, person-centered care, CBT, DBT and trauma work.
•  Manage a caseload of individuals with a wide spectrum of needs.
•  Assist residents to understand the effects and benefits of any medication prescribed for them and the importance of complying with treatment regimes. This might include liaising with pharmacists, doctors, and psychiatrists for monitoring purposes.
•  Provide psychoeducation to raise awareness and understanding of substances and their effects.
•  Provide onward referral and liaison with wrap-around support within SCT to enable our residents to achieve social integration and personal development.

Client Management
•Coordinate and carry out assessments of new residents and the referral and acceptance process, ensuring that each client has a programme appropriate to their needs.
•  Conduct joint 3 and 6-monthly reviews with Supported Housing team colleagues.
•Provide group and individual counselling as required by the service.
•Support residents from admission until completion of treatment.

Operational Support
•Comply with all monitoring and evaluation requirements.

General Responsibilities
•Engage with and inspire people in recovery.
•Ensure a safe and secure environment for residents, free from alcohol and drugs, and free from abusive behaviour and exploitation.
•Ensure that all SCT activities are carried out with due regard to Health and Safety legislation, SCT policies and procedures, as well as good practice.

Qualifications and Experience

ESSENTIAL
•   Educated to degree level or Diploma Level 4 in Counselling.
•Two years’ experience of therapeutic work with: people in recovery, people experiencing homelessness or people with significant trauma histories / adverse childhood experiences.
•   One year’s experience of one-to-one counselling.
•A solid working understanding of CBT, MI, Relapse Prevention techniques and/or other interventions applicable to working with people in recovery.
•Experience in delivering therapeutic group work.

As Personal Assistant (PA) to the Director General, you’ll be responsible for delivering first-class executive support, managing a complex schedule, coordinating high-level meetings and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Director General’s office within the Private Office team.

You will manage significant internal and external relationships and work closely with our Head of Private Office, Chief of Staff, Governance team and other PAs across RBL to provide coordinated and consistent support. This role will truly see you at the heart of the action, helping to drive success through your exceptional organisational skills and proactive support.

Reporting to our Head of Private Office, key responsibilities will include:

- Proactively manage the diary of the Director General - all appointments, meetings, and events are scheduled efficiently and in a timely manner
- Draft, review, and manage correspondence on behalf of the Director General, ensuring a high standard of professionalism and accuracy
- Take minutes at relevant meetings, capturing key action points and following up on actions
- Arrange travel and accommodation for the Director General as required, ensuring the details are thoroughly planned and confirmed in advance
- Undertake research tasks for the Director General, gathering detailed information, presenting supporting facts, figures, and recommendations for implementation

You will bring extensive experience supporting to senior management level and have outstanding communication skills, able to confidently communicate and engage with a range of stakeholders. Your ability to work at pace while supporting senior leaders will be second to none and you will have highly effective planning and organisational skills. Most importantly you will have a passion for your work and will be eager to utilise that to support the work of RBL. 

You will be contracted to our London, Haig House Hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the Hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.

About the role

We are now seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Membership and Engagement to lead and deliver an ambitious membership strategy that will grow, diversify, and retain our membership base. Positioned on the Executive Team, and reporting to the Director of The London Library, you will oversee a talented team spanning membership, marketing and communications, and public engagement.

About the Role

As Young People Support Worker you will be working alongside support team to provide accommodation and support services for young people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping. You will be responsible for all aspects of the support planning, risk assessment and move-on for a small caseload of 4-5 residents, addressing their physical, emotional, social and behavioural needs and helping them progress towards independence.

Working under the direction, guidance and support of your line manager, you will be responsible for a small caseload of complex needs clients, as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service.

You will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all clients, following safeguarding and emergency procedures as needed.
• Act as key worker for a caseload of clients, leading on risk and needs assessments and SMART, outcomes-based support plans.
• Provide personalised, flexible, and creative support, involving clients in decision-making and encouraging participation in activities.
• Collaborate with external agencies to support clients, adhering to data protection and information sharing protocols.
• Support clients to access Education, Training, Employment, and Volunteering opportunities aligned with their goals and aspirations.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, including preparing accommodation for new clients and supporting their transition.
• Assist in coordinating and supporting volunteers and promoting client involvement initiatives and residents' meetings.
• Maintain clear, accurate records and participate in team rotas, including evenings and weekends, carrying out additional duties as required.

 

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• Experience of working with clients with mental health and or drug/alcohol dependency issues.
• Ability to work with clients whose behaviour may be personally challenging.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and boundaries with clients.
• Experience working in partnership with multi agency teams, including social workers, immigration and mental health professionals.
• Knowledge of risk assessments, support planning, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.
• Strong literacy, numeracy, IT skills, and commitment to diversity, equality, and professional integrity.

You’ll lead on service transformation projects such as:

• Growing our Direct Referral Service across the UK, where NHS Trusts are referring newly diagnosed patients for an ongoing journey of tailored information and support
• Scaling up our Clinical Trials Support Service, so we can support many more people than we are currently around understanding and accessing clinical trials
• Improving access to clinical trials for ethnic minorities, by testing and piloting new interventions in communities

With a Service Designer to support you, you’ll lead user research, prototyping, testing and iteration of new products and services. You’ll ensure our service transformation programme is working on scalable and sustainable products and services that meet user needs and strategic goals.   

This is a relatively new role, so we are looking for someone excited by the opportunity to embed it in the organisation and build strong ways of working. You will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of legacy cases where the charity is named as a beneficiary; work with external solicitors and lay executors to ensure that gifts are received in a timely fashion and that all internal and external procedures and legislation is adhered to; promote pragmatic solutions and refer appropriate matters to the Senior Legacy Manager to ensure all reputational risks are proactively managed.  

Additionally, you will be required to work on projects to improve the Legacy Team’s ways of working and to help support with the development and delivery of the team and organisational strategies. 

Expected travel for this role is approximately meeting internal and external stakeholders as required, approximately twice per quarter; this may increase during busy periods. In addition, attendance to two all-staff away days per year and team away days in London on a quarterly basis.
