Oasis Community Partnerships (Youth and Community)

Permanent, full-time post, 40 hours per week, inclusive of breaks

 At an exciting and key stage in our journey we have the opportunity for an Operations Director to join the Oasis Youth and Community national leadership team supporting local Oasis community charities across the country.

With accountability to the CEO the Operations Director will be responsible for three key areas of work:

1. Lead key elements of policy and systems ensuring the Youth and Community function remains safe and compliant, and that local leaders and other key staff are effectively supported (including line management of People Services).
2. Oversee the effective governance oversight for all local charities through a cycle of professional guidance and monitoring.
3. Lead the national framework for monitoring and evaluation across activities.

The Youth and Community function of Oasis is responsible for the wider community work that takes place within Oasis neighbourhoods, working closely with the wider Oasis family to outwork our vision. In relation to governance, Oasis Community Partnerships is the national charity, with each local team operating from their own local Oasis charity.

The Community Development team at KCLSU are looking for an Events and Outreach Department Manager to lead the team and drive the strategic development and delivery of KCLSU's community events and volunteering opportunities. Main duties

Website and digital communications

• Oversee the management and strategic development of the Sutton Trust website and associated microsites.

• Ensure the main site delivers impactful communications showcasing the breadth of the Trust’s work, whilst being responsive to the needs of our key audiences: students, teachers, policymakers, academics and media.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must deeply understand how to reduce the violence that affects young people. We then have to make this information highly relevant and accessible to the people making decisions for vulnerable young people. In practice, this means we need to find out what works and what doesn’t through high quality qualitative and quantitative research into children’s lives. We then must convert this into really accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations (like schools, councils, police forces and more) can change what they do, how the systems have to change. We then need to work with and inspire those making decisions. Together, we believe we can change things permanently for children.

At the heart of this work is our new Area Leaders Programme. It provides support to local councils on what they can do in their towns and cities to change things. To work, the sessions need to be brilliantly designed with great materials and really well delivered. This is where you come in.

About the Area Leaders Programme

The Area Leaders Programme (ALP) brings together local partnerships in a town or a city to better protect children from being drawn into violence. These partnerships often include the police, youth justice services, children’s services, health, education, youth and community organisations.

We aim to do this by supporting areas to develop the five Ps of violence prevention:

• Partnerships: Build strong, accountable partnerships with clear roles, governance, and measurable goals.
• Profile: Understand the local drivers, context, and patterns of serious violence.
• People: Identify the children most at risk and ensure they get the right support at the right time.
• Places: Pinpoint high-risk locations and take action to make them safer.
• Practice: Share and apply best practice consistently across all key agencies.

About the role

As Senior Designer and Facilitator, you’ll play a vital role in shaping how ALP supports local partnerships. You’ll help turn evidence into practical action by designing engaging workshops, tools and resources that help professionals plan and work together more effectively. You will also take a leading role in facilitating active and inspiring workshops.

You’ll work closely with the ALP Change Lead, Senior Manager, our delivery partners and the wider Change team to make sure we’re constantly improving the support we offer.

You must have significant experience in:

• A relevant design discipline, this could be service design, systems design, speculative design, policy design or a similar field.
• Applying design skills to address social purpose and/or inequalities.
• Workshop facilitation with participants from diverse professional backgrounds.

Ideally you will also have this sort of experience (but it’s not necessary to apply):

• A formal qualification in a relevant area of design, or applying design for social purpose, or relevant experience.
• First-hand knowledge of the system that supports highly vulnerable children, particularly those at risk of or involved in violence. You understand the barriers these children face and what it takes to get them the right support.

The role and your key responsibilities
 

As an Account Manager, your role is to make sure that all partners in your area make the most out of the Unifrog platform. You’ll build and maintain excellent working relationships with your partner schools and colleges, and provide expert guidance on how to embed the platform across all year groups.

You will cover your own area of the country with occasional travel to your partner schools and colleges (on average 1-2 days per week). Please note you will need to be based in East London or Essex for this role.
 

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Work with schools and colleges to provide resources and strategies which maximise staff and student engagement with Unifrog, identifying and promoting best practice across partner schools.
   

• Deliver targeted training sessions to staff within our partner schools and colleges via workshops and presentations, delivered remotely or in person.
   

• Work with your partner Area Manager to improve Unifrog engagement and achieve a sky high resubscription rate.
   

• Monitor and analyse usage across partner schools and colleges; identifying partners that need additional support to use the platform effectively.
   

• Listen to teachers and students about how we can improve our customer service and the Unifrog platform.
   

• Attend conferences and run CPD events on behalf of Unifrog.

We are now recruiting for a new role, a Research Centre Manager, to support in the planning and daily delivery of an exceptional experience at the Research Centre. The postholder will serve as the first point of contact for victims and survivors participating and expressing an interest in taking part in safeguarding. They will also lead the development of safe, trauma-informed, and inclusive survivor participation activities and events and facilitate meetings and activities to gather insights and invite participation from a wide range of survivors.

The postholder must have exceptional empathy, compassion and understanding for the personal experience of victims and survivors who have experienced abuse, particularly (but not exclusively) within the context of faith settings, including the Church of England or other denominations or traditions.

The postholder must have demonstrable experience of building relationships of trust and rapport with individuals who have lived experiences of abuse. They must be able to demonstrate that they have consistently used trauma-informed principles and ways of working in their work. They must be a strong team-player with the ability to work alongside colleagues in the National Safeguarding Team and National Church Institutions (NCIs) to develop appropriate and trauma-informed means of participation and engagement.

What does The Animal Law Foundation do? 

The Animal Law Foundation was registered with the Charity Commission in August 2022. It is primarily a legal research charity that looks into neglected areas of animal law and where appropriate will instruct lawyers to bring legal challenges to secure any systems in place to protect animals function as they should.

Groups like this exist in the environmental and the human rights space in the UK and in the animal protection space in other countries. There is a desperate need for such work to exist for animals in the UK. 

The UK still has some of the best animal welfare laws in the world, yet the opportunity for vast change contained within these laws is rarely explored. Through exploring these opportunities the whole system for animals can be improved and set global examples. 

It is of vital importance that laws that exist to protect animals are understood and applied. The Animal Law Foundation will work alongside stakeholders to ensure that this happens.
