Main Purpose of the Role:

Key Responsibilities

• Governance and Compliance
  • Maintain and update governance policies and registers, and development of Standard Operating Procedures.

Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) is an international movement that started in the 1970s in the American prison system. AVP Britain (AVPB) is one of multiple independent branches which operate around the globe. A registered national charity, AVP Britain is committed to a world where everyone has the courage and capacity to manage conflict non-violently.

We provide experiential workshops in-person and online; and distance learning courses which give people the necessary skills to navigate conflict non-violently and empower them to build better relationships.

AVPB is a small but impactful charity with a long history of working in communities and prisons across the UK.  We are entering an important next phase in our development and are seeking a Charity Director who can provide strategic and operational leadership, strengthen our financial sustainability, increase our visibility and impact across the communities we serve, and steward our mission with clarity and care.

The Charity Director is the leader of our charity and is the most senior paid role within AVPB.  The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s present and future.

We are looking for a Charity Director who provides leadership that encompasses income generation, fundraising, oversight of our programme quality and delivery, leads and supports our support staff, volunteers, and facilitators and will works closely with the Board of Trustees.

Role Responsibilities

Oversight of Spear Programme

Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee 
per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to 
work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.

• Lead group sessions of around 12 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Spear, as well as their ongoing progress and 
  sustainment of work or education.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.

Line Management and training

Church Community

• Support in group coaching sessions of up to 12 young people. Coaching them around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education and equipping them with the skills to stay there.

For over 15 years, Scotty's Little Soldiers has been supporting children and young people who have been bereaved of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces.We are about to embark on an exciting journey which will see the charity evolve to support anyone affected by a military-connected bereavement and ultimately empower a community of more than 25,000 bereaved individuals and their families by 2035. 

Founded in 2010 by Nikki Scott following the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, the charity currently offers a unique blend of emotional, practical, and educational support to over 750 young people.

Role Mission. 

We’re on a mission to connect with thousands more bereaved military families and that starts with storytelling.We believe that ‘social’ media is in the past and what is needed today is ‘interest’ media – great content that engages its target audience has the potential to reach more people than a high follow count.As Content Creator, you’ll be our expert in creating great content, capturing the emotion, personality, and purpose behind everything we do. 

This is a fast-paced, highly proactive role focused on creating short-form video and photo content for social media. You’ll attend events, follow team members in action, and use your creative instincts to turn everyday moments into compelling content that resonates with our unique audience. We’re not looking for slick corporate videos, we want quick-turnaround, on-brand, authentic content that stops the scroll and builds trust. 

The key responsibilities of this role are:  

Content Creation 

• Film and edit short-form video content (e.g. Instagram Reels, TikToks, Stories etc) for use across Scotty’s social channels. 

• Capture and edit photography when needed, particularly from in-person events and outreach activity, often on the go. 

• Work proactively to identify and attend opportunities to film team members and events (e.g. corporate talks, family days, community activity). 

• Jump on relevant trends and moments, adapting them to fit the tone, audience, and sensitivity of our cause. 

• Create great content which will educate or entertain our target audiences (within the bereaved military community). 

Editing & Tools 

• Use tools like CapCut, Canva, InShot, Adobe Premiere Rush, or iPhone editing apps to deliver content quickly and efficiently. 

• Add subtitles, basic transitions, music, and graphics where appropriate, always with accessibility and brand in mind. 

• Maintain an organised archive of content and assets for reuse across campaigns. 

• Work closely with the Social Media & Marketing Exec to provide platform-ready content.

Planning & Collaboration 

• Collaborate with the Head of Outreach and Social Media & Marketing Executive to contribute to the content calendar and plan campaigns inline with goals. 

• Bring creative ideas to the table and take initiative in spotting content opportunities. 

• Work to brand guidelines while retaining creative flexibility, balancing tone, authenticity, and audience sensitivity.

Responsibilities of our National Email Marketing Officer: 

• The National Email Marketing Officer at Cats Protection will work within an enthusiastic and friendly team to deliver the charity’s email programme. The role includes full responsibility for managing the Cats Protection email platform (currently DotDigital), overseeing campaigns from planning and creation through to delivery and evaluation. 

• As a key member of the team, the Officer will help maximise engagement with new and existing supporters and contribute to sustainable income growth by producing informative and compelling email communications aligned with Cats Protection’s strategic objectives. 

About the Brand & Marketing team:

• Cats Protection’s Brand and Marketing team, based in the Marketing and Income Generation Directorate, looks after email marketing, Brand, Design, Editorial, Campaigns, Digital Marketing, Celebrity & Influencer relationships and Digital Fundraising.

• Small but busy, the Email Marketing team produces insightful email marketing campaigns for the charity. We work hard at building an engaged community of cat lovers online so that we can promote better feline welfare, raise funds and create a better world for cats. You’ll be creating, approving and advising on email content and will also get involved in national campaigns, vital infrastructure workstreams and more, all while working closely with teams from across the organisation. 

What we are looking for in our National Email Marketing Officer:

• Proven experience of digital marketing, ideally working with external agencies within the third sector 

• Specialist knowledge of email marketing, including automation 

• Proven track record of achieving digital marketing growth against agreed targets 

• An understanding of the principles of Data Protection 

• Broad-based fundraising experience 

• Experience of implementing supporter segmentation processes for email marketing purposes 

• Experience of working with the DotDigital email platform

GFS is seeking a creative and values led Programme and Participation Coordinator to bring our
programmes of youth activities to life and ensure that girls and young women (GAYW) are at the
heart of everything we do. This role sits within the Development and Impact Team and is key to
designing and delivering inclusive, evidence-informed activities that support and inspire girls, and
develop their socio-emotional skills to build confidence, friendships and wellbeing.

The Programme and Participation Coordinator will develop engaging activities and resources,
support training for delivery staff and administer the monitoring and evaluation of programmes.
They will also champion the voices of GAYW in decision making, and create and deliver
participation opportunities that ensure girl voices are heard across GFS. By connecting
programme design, impact measurement and participation, this role ensures that our work is truly
girl led. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, as well as volunteers and external
partners, they will help embed a culture of learning from and collaborating with girls.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about youth participation and wants
to make a difference to the lives of GAYW across England and Wales.

About the role

As Digital Marketing Assistant, you’ll support the planning, creation and delivery of digital content across our social media channels, website and email communications, helping explain what we do, why it matters and how people can get involved.

Working closely with the Events & Community Fundraising Manager, you’ll help promote fundraising campaigns, events and appeals, support PR opportunities and ensure our communications reflect the real impact of our work.

Homeless Link's mission is to develop, inspire, support and sustain a movement of organisations working together to achieve positive futures for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed.
