Gulab Sorkh Foundation (GSF) is an independent charity supporting former members of the Afghan security forces and their families, who have come to the UK under the Government’s Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy (ARAP). We’re looking for a creative and results-driven Stewardship Manager to deliver of our inspiring multi-channel supporter journey for the 2026 Mighty Hikes series.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Stewardship Manager and working closely with the Events Officer, you’ll deliver an engaging, insight-led stewardship journey that supports and motivates Mighty Hikers before, during, and after their event.

In this role, your week might include:

• Creating inspiring and motivational email campaigns to help participants fundraise and train.
• Working with our registration platform provider – briefing development, using insight to optimise user’s journeys.
• Briefing creative agencies on content and assets that engage and inspire fundraising.
• Managing outbound calling campaigns with external agencies and tracking success.
• Analysing JustGiving data to report on fundraising performance and identify stewardship improvements.
• Line managing the Mighty Hikes Assistant, supporting their day-to-day activities and development.

As a Senior Education Policy & Advocacy Advisor, you will provide global leadership within your area of expertise (Education) to shape and drive shared advocacy and impact agendas across Save the Children and the wider sector. You will develop and deliver high-quality policy and influencing strategies, fostering innovation and inclusivity and contributing to systemic change. In this role, you will build strategic relationships with key decision-makers, lead capacity strengthening for colleagues and partners, and champion equality, inclusion and the shifting power agenda.

Key Accountabilities 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

• Being our key representative in the Send My Friend to School coalition, including being an active member of its Policy and Parliamentary Working Group and potentially its Steering Group  dependent on your experience. This the UK's global education coalition of international development NGOs and teachers' unions, bringing together young people, politicians, teachers, civil society and the media to campaign for quality education for all children across the globe. Its focus is to influence the UK Governments financing and policies related to global education.

• Lead the movements influencing in support of the Global Partnership for Education replenishment campaign which aims to raise $5 billion from donors in 2026, as well as partner government commitments on domestic education financing. You will work closely with colleagues across the movement to influence their governments, as well as lead the work to ensure a significant pledge from the UK Government. 

• Provide global leadership in other areas of global education to shape and drive shared advocacy and impact agendas across Save the Children and the wider sector. 

This is an important time to take up this role. The UK Government has stated that it plans to deprioritise its work on global education as part of its significant aid cuts in 2027. The inspiring Send My Friend to School coalition has developed an impactful UK schools campaign, youth campaign champion network and strategic policy and advocacy approach aiming to protect the education aid budget. Similarly a successful replenishment campaign for the Global Partnership for Education is vital for maintaining multi-year, transformative investment into education systems.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced programme coordinator to lead our Travelling with Confidence grant, engaging and empowering disabled people, promoting independent mobility, using rail and connecting modes. Working with our members and partners you will coordinate and support the delivery of this important programme, helping to ensure it is participatory, empowering, effective and well-evaluated, while sharing learnings and building a lasting legacy.

About us 

Community Rail Network is a not-for-profit organisation, working across Britain to support a growing ‘community rail’ movement. Community rail promotes sustainable and inclusive travel, coordinates volunteering and place-making projects, and brings people together. 

Community rail is made up of 75 community-based partnership organisations, 1,300 station friends volunteer groups, and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects with young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence with families and marginalised groups, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener travel and tourism by rail. 

Our enthusiastic team of 22 works mainly from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to advise our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights via decision-makers and the media. We believe in developing our team and supporting everyone to reach their potential while having a good work-life balance. 

Responsibilities

Programme coordination, delivery and monitoring and evaluation: 

• Ensure good coordination and communication between delivery partners and support their high-quality delivery in line with timeframes and requirements, including via steering group meetings and individual support. 

• Offer support, guidance and ideas to our delivery partners to assist their work, helping them to build capacity and confidence and meet their objectives. This includes support to engage with, and draw on the experiences, ideas and voices of disabled people.

• Support delivery partners in developing and embedding co-creation principles and empowering ways of working for their projects, drawing on good practice and expertise. 

• Work with stakeholders at all levels to facilitate positive collaboration and help develop our wider network while supporting project objectives and raising awareness about this work.

• Produce communications content to support project delivery, such as case studies and blogs, and work with our Communications and Policy team to promote the programme, its achievements, and amplify the voices/views/needs of the disabled people engaged. 

• Manage the delivery of a accompanying small grant fund (using/adapting our existing processes and systems) for other community rail partnerships/groups to deliver travel confidence initiatives with disabled people. Provide similar support and advice to those grant-funded to that offered to the core delivery partners, in line with their needs. 

• Support monitoring, data collection and meaningful evaluation by all core and grant-funded delivery partners, ensuring this is in line with project reporting requirements, and serves our goals around legacy-building and empowering those involved.

• Monitor and review project objectives, troubleshooting any issues in a timely manner. 

• Financial management of the grant budget, managing internal (Community Rail Network) budget spend as well as monitoring the delivery partner budgets in partnership with the project leads, ensuring these are in line with agreed grant funding.

Grant administration, reporting and liaison  

• Maintain and develop relations with the grant provider, ensuring we meet reporting deadlines and other requirements (such as attendance at progress meetings).

• Work with project partners to agree the data set requirements and outcome parameters for evaluation, and provide suitable reporting tools.

• Completion of grant reports and financial statements, including coordinating and reviewing project delivery data (from project partners).

Evaluation and legacy building 

• Work collaboratively with an external evaluation consultant to assess and enhance current monitoring and evaluation approaches, co-develop theories of change, and embed participatory and inclusive evaluative practices throughout the programme. 

• Produce guidance and tools to support wider delivery across community rail and beyond, working with our member support and communications teams. 

• Work with colleagues, members and partners to raise wider awareness about the project and its findings and build a legacy. This includes set up and delivery of a member webinar (with support from the events team) to share project experiences. 

Team and partnership working (as relevant and appropriate) 

• Contribute to the wider objectives and development of Community Rail Network by sharing project progress and learning and offering advice and input. Work with our member support & development team to help embed lessons from the project and improve our ongoing support for members on rail confidence initiatives and the involvement and empowerment of disabled people.

• Feed into our senior team on strategic insights and ideas emerging from the programme to help us advocate for more inclusive, confident (rail) travel for disabled people. 

• Attend, and support, community rail events (internal and external) to develop knowledge and understanding of the movement and its role. 

• Contribute to the development of our internal systems (e.g. spreadsheets, CRM) such as by data capturing relevant contacts and details.

• As a member of the Community Rail Network team, assist with more general work as needed. 

Skills and competencies 

1. A proven track record in project management, including coordinating between multiple delivery partners and ensuring project/funding requirements are met, and supporting/overseeing effective monitoring and evaluation. 
2. Demonstrable experience in supporting community projects, ideally related to inclusion and mobility, including working with disabled people. 
3. A good understanding of and confidence using community engagement, local communications, project planning and evaluation techniques. 
4. The ability to collaborate and communicate with community groups and other local partners, draw on their views and expertise, and support them to deliver effectively. 
5. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels and facilitate positive discussion; articulate and assertive, and a great team player. 
6. A proven ability to bring partners and groups together, develop and maintain mutually-beneficial partnerships, deliver joint activities, and form professional networks. 
7. Good writing and analysis skills, with the ability to draw on quantitative and qualitative evidence, produce case studies and reports. 
8. Awareness of accessibility, social mobility and social inclusion issues, and an appreciation of the importance of rail, sustainable travel and mobility to communities and disabled people.
9. A demonstrable ability to manage time effectively and juggle a range of activities in an organised, professional, productive manner, including planning and scheduling, coordinating with colleagues and partners, and bringing projects to fruition.

Other information

This post is home-based, but with some travel (including occasional overnight stays) for project meetings, events and external meetings. Applicants will need local access to a train station to enable rail-based travel for work as needed.

This is a fixed term contract and includes a probationary period of three months from the date of appointment. Member Engagement

• Design and implement a community engagement strategy, this is to nurture positive relationships

  opportunities for Member Organisations and other community groups and stakeholders to
  contribute to the Trust’s broader activities and development plans, taking account of member
  feedback and Trust strategy as appropriate. This will require evening and weekend working

Key Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead on the instigation, scheduling and management of the Trust’s relationship with Community
  Forums and the relevant convenors. This may involve attending meetings, organising events,
  advising on operations and governance. This will involve active listening and offering feedback
  and advice to colleagues.
• Be responsible for effective stakeholder management and mapping, to include local residents,
  local businesses and local voluntary sector groups to ensure maximum reach.
• Attend community meetings on behalf of Westway Trust to listen and engage in conversations
  about local issues and update them on the Trust’s activities. These meetings are primarily in the
  evening.

Institutional Racism Report

• Playing a key role with stakeholder groups on dissemination on the Tutu Foundation Report and
  the progress as the Trust moves towards eliminating ‘institutional racism’.
• Lead on some of the areas of development by agreement with your line manager and other
  colleagues.

Bay 20

• Support the BAY 20 community operator to ensure that BAY 20 is an inclusive and accessible
  space for the whole community and manage their service level agreement and associated budget.
• Deliver the secretarial function to the Bay20 community steering group.

Grants & Community Investments

• Support the grants and impact manager in engagement with applicants of Westway Trust’s grants
  programmes, nurturing positive relationships with successful and unsuccessful applicants.

General Duties

• Support the development of new, refurbished, and existing spaces with innovative community
  development projects and events. These may include Public Policy Round Tables; new
  programmes; community led events, consultations and meetings.
• You are a key outward facing member of the Trust, expected to demonstrate the Trusts Values

Location: The post holder will be contractually based at Hospice House, Britannia Street, London, WC1X 9JG. This role is eligible for the Hospice UK Hybrid Working Arrangement from the start of employment. Our expectation is that you will come to London at least two days each month for team meetings, plus a quarterly ‘all staff’ event, and External Affairs away days a few times a year. The Communications team mostly comes into the office at least once a week on a Wednesday. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time.

• Source and produce stories that showcase the incredible work of our members.
• Plan, research and build web pages, and manage social media activity.

A key part of this role will involve building strong relationships with members through regular communications, meetings and hospice visits, helping you understand their needs and the challenges facing the sector.

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join the growing Reaching Higher team and bring our finance function fully in-house. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented professional who will play a pivotal role in ensuring strong financial systems, accurate reporting, and sound financial planning. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in financial management and governance, budgeting and forecasting, payroll and pension oversight, and the ability to provide clear strategic insight and analysis to support organisational growth and sustainability.

Purpose of this Role

Our finance functions are currently partially outsourced to an external contractor. Our income has grown significantly over the past five years and our Board have now decided to employ a Finance Manager and bring financial expertise in-house. In this new position as the Finance Manager at Reaching Higher, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and planning, payroll and pension management, and financial governance and compliance. You will support all aspects of Reaching Higher’s work and development through ensuring strong financial systems. 

You will work closely with our team to ensure that all day-to-day finance requirements are met, including accurate grant finance monitoring and reporting to multiple funders. You will also work closely with our senior leaders and board to build the charity’s financial resilience and the financial awareness of our wider team.

You will work closely with the Executive Assistant & Administrator and report to the Executive Director, as well as working closely with the Executive Team, Treasurer and wider Board.

Reaching Higher is a youth organisation which works with over 2000 young people aged 9-21 each year across Croydon and surrounding boroughs.
