Job description

Our Vacancy

We're looking for an experienced and solutions-focused Senior People Relations Specialist to join our People Relations and Wellbeing team.

In this role, you'll be a trusted expert on complex employee relations matters, providing high-quality advice, coaching and support to managers across the organisation. You'll also play a key role in coordinating and supporting employment tribunal cases, ensuring documentation is managed effectively, deadlines are met, and Peabody continues to adopt a fair, balanced and resolution-focused approach to people relations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations professional looking to further develop their employment law expertise while contributing to a values-led organisation that puts people at the heart of everything we do.

As a Senior People Relations Specialist, you’ll:

  • Lead and manage complex employee relations casework including disciplinaries, grievances, capability, absence management and organisational change matters.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to managers, providing practical, commercially balanced and legally compliant guidance.
  • Coordinate Employment Tribunal cases from start to completion, ensuring accurate records, documentation and key deadlines are managed effectively.
  • Work closely with external legal advisers to prepare tribunal documentation, witness information and case bundles.
  • Support ACAS Early Conciliation processes and help identify opportunities for early resolution.
  • Identify emerging risks and provide recommendations that balance legal compliance with positive employee relations outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying learning from casework and tribunal activity and helping shape policies, procedures and management practices.
  • Build effective relationships with trade union representatives and key stakeholders across the business.
  • Coach and support colleagues within the People team on complex employment relations matters.

We're seeking someone who:

  • Has extensive experience managing complex employee relations casework from start to finish.
  • Has strong experience supporting Employment Tribunal cases from start to completion, including preparing documentation, coordinating processes and working alongside legal advisers.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Can confidently advise and influence managers on sensitive and high-risk employee relations matters.
  • Has exceptional written skills and can produce clear, high-quality case documentation.
  • Can effectively manage competing priorities and externally imposed deadlines.
  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, including trade union representatives and senior managers.
  • Is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and creating positive workplace experiences for colleagues.

Why Join Us?

When you join Peabody, you’re joining a team guided by our values, Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together. We believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included, and empowered.

Here’s what you’ll get when you join us:

  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • 30 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Up to 10% pension contribution, matched 1:1
  • Two additional paid volunteering days each year
  • Flexible benefits scheme (including healthcare, dental care, and more)

What to expect from our recruitment process

We’re committed to a fair, inclusive, and transparent recruitment process.

Our selection process will include a one stage interview process including a presentation and written task and will take place on Monday 23rd November in our Westminster Bridge Road office.
