About the role:

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Coordinator to support our care teams in delivering a high-quality family support service in the region, working with families and professionals to ensure the families we support have access to the services they need.

Reporting to the Family Support Manager and working in partnership with health, education, and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for sourcing practical goods and services in the region, applying for grants and benefits, as well as working with other charities or community providers to obtain goods, equipment or funds for families that Rainbow Trust do not provide directly.

Having worked in a stressful or emotionally-demanding environment with an understanding of the complexities of working with children and families, you will have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and strong networks with other organisation to provide meaningful assistance to the families we support.

About the role

You’ll lead the production of Annual Accounts for the Charity and its subsidiaries and oversee the wider Financial Accounting Team. You’ll also deputise for the Head of Financial Operations and contribute to Finance Transformation initiative.

As a subject matter expert, you will advise on technical accounting, tax, and internal controls and liaise with auditors and advisors.   Additionally, you will be responsible for driving process improvements through the effective use of data and digital tools across the organisation, with the goal of enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

• Accountable for the efficient and accurate production of the Annual Accounts, acting as a key contact to the Auditors and Governance Team 

• Continuously develop and keep up-to-date with current regulations to act as subject matter expert on tax, audit and technical accounting queries 

• Coach and provide expert advice to the Finance Management team

• Ensure that the charity meets internal and external reporting targets such as VAT returns, Gift Aid Returns, etc

What you’ll bring

• A CCAB qualified accountant with excellent technical financial accounting skills 

• Proven experience of audit or of leading the Annual Accounts production and producing consolidated statutory accounts and coordinating with auditors and other stakeholders 

• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with a wide variety of diverse stakeholders, with an engaging communication style, with the ability to bring others with you and influence outcomes

• Extensive knowledge of Charity SORP and VAT including Partial Exemption

There is an out of hours “On Call” element to this position whereby the successful candidate will be required to go onto the “On Call” rota shared among other members of the maintenance team.

A full UK driving licence is essential as some work will take place at satellite sites.

About the role

You’ll lead and develop a high performing business partnering team of 2, that empower key stakeholders across the organisation to make strategic decisions through timely and insightful financial analysis. 

As  a strategic advisor and trusted partner to your own business areas, you’ll provide high-quality financial analysis and insight, driving team performance and ensuring the effective and efficient use of resources. You’ll continuously foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive the charity's mission forward.

What you’ll do

• Manage and mentor a team of Finance Business Partners, ensuring their professional growth and the effective delivery of financial support across the charity.

• Set the standard for and provide high-level financial analysis, insight, and recommendations to senior leaders and department heads to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.

• Oversee strategic and financial performance through analysing variances,  trends, modelling, and scenario planning,  providing recommendations and challenges alongside financial strategies to  ensure departments adhere to budgets and financial targets. 

• Lead the team on the preparation and management of annual budgets, forecasts and annual accounts, ensuring that financial plans reflect the charity’s priorities and strategies.

What you’ll bring

• CCAB recognised professional accounting qualification with proven experience working as finance business partner in a complex organisation 

• Experience in managing and developing a team, with a focus on driving high performance and fostering collaboration. 

• Proven experience in a finance business partner role, with experience managing a team of finance professionals. 

• Strong ability to provide strategic financial guidance and insights to senior leadership, translating financial data into actionable plans.

Brief role description:

The Fundraising Officer plays an integral role supporting the Fundraising team at the Forces Employment Charity (FEC).

As part of the Marketing, Communication and Fundraising Directorate, and led by the Head of Fundraising and Development, you will research and identify new funding opportunities and support their conversion into long-term relationships. You will be supported by senior members of the fundraising team to create and write high-quality proposals to secure funding, and stewardship reports to demonstrate impact and outcomes to our funders.​

We are working with a fantastic charity client who are looking for an Interim Senior PR and Press Officer to join their team for an inital 3 month contract. 

Key responsibilities

The Senior PR and Press Officer will take a leading role in developing and implementing the media strategy, enhancing the charity's visibility and impact through strategic communications and media engagement. This involves collaborating closely with the PR and Press Manager to identify, research, and develop story and PR campaign ideas for local and national media. The role also includes managing a professional and efficient press office and supporting individuals with lived experience of financial insecurity in their work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading on the development and execution of strategic media campaigns.

• Helping to raise awareness of the charity's information, tools, services, fundraising, and advocacy priorities through various media outlets.

• Managing the day-to-day duties of the press office, including monitoring the media inbox and responding to requests.

• Championing a storytelling culture by training, supporting, and empowering diverse spokespeople.

• Managing and leading specific project teams, ensuring objectives are met and team members are supported.

• Building relationships across directorates to ensure insights and expertise drive press and PR work.

Person Specifications

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in media relations or PR, within the charity sector, and a proven track record of successful media campaign delivery. Experience of working in a busy press office to tight deadlines and briefing spokespeople is essential.

Key skills and attributes include:

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to condense complex concepts into clear, powerful copy and adapt tone for different audiences.

• Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and with journalists, and the ability to communicate sensitively with people who have lived experience of financial insecurity.

• A strategic approach to developing and evaluating strategies that align with organisational goals.

• Strong IT literacy, including experience with media monitoring software, MS Office Suite, and Trello.

• Strong administrative skills, including efficient monitoring of the press inbox.

• Curiosity, perseverance, and a calm demeanour in a crisis, along with being a supportive, inclusive, and dynamic team player.

• Knowledge of the UK media landscape and either deep knowledge of the UK benefits system or a commitment to develop this knowledge.

• Strong knowledge of GDPR.
