About the role

We are seeking an experienced and qualified immigration advisor to oversee the strategic direction of our casework and systemic work for the coming year.

The Unity Project (TUP) supports people who are facing poverty and homelessness because their immigration status allows them ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF).  We believe NRPF should not exist and we are working to end it. Until then, we seek to minimise its impact by supporting people to make the ‘change of conditions’ (CoC) application to access public funds. As part of this work, we continually develop new casework approaches to make CoCs more accessible to more people. By taking a strategic approach to our casework, we have opened up new routes for people to move through the process, and achieved greater recognition of groups with particular needs. We have also supported numerous strategic legal challenges which have prompted significant changes to the immigration rules and guidance related to CoCs. 

In this cover role, you will lead The Unity Project’s strategic work to improve the accessibility of the CoC process. You will be responsive to changes in the external context and identify strategic priorities to focus on in our casework. You will hold our strategic external relationships, in particular with law firms, advice agencies and Home Office representatives, and you will oversee our strategic litigation support.  You will share our expertise with the sector through second-tier advice, training workshops and peer support forums.  Our strategic work is rooted in direct casework, and so this will also be part of your role. You will be responsible for TUP’s casework provision for applicants who submit their own CoC applications independently, and you will support with other strategically significant cases as required.

In this role, you’ll lead the development and continuous improvement of Oak’s Physical Education curriculum, working closely with delivery partners to ensure high-quality resources are produced and delivered at pace. You’ll act as the subject authority for PE, using your expertise to assure quality, guide decision-making and support strong, productive partnerships.

You’ll be comfortable taking ownership of delivery, addressing challenges when they arise, and balancing quality with momentum. • Responsible for the continuous improvement of full curriculum packages in Physical Education (PE).

• Maintain specialist expertise in PE and be the authority across Oak and more widely across the sector.

�� What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years experience of teaching and/or leadership in your subject area.

• Extensive knowledge of latest research and practice in curriculum design, instruction and assessment in your subject area.

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS) with direct experience of teaching in a school/schools in England in Key Stages 1, 2, 3 or 4.

• Experience of teacher development e.g. Head of Department (Secondary); Subject/Phase Lead (Primary); University PGCE or SCITT mentor/lead.

• Proven success managing high profile and sensitive senior relationships. 

• Experience of curriculum design and delivery in both primary and secondary phases (desirable).

An enhanced DBS check may be required for this role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Start Network has an exciting opening for an Events Support Officer. This a great opportunity for a motivated person who has experience in event organisation and wishes to further their career in a friendly and dynamic environment.  The successful candidate must be available to start in March 2026.

Working with different teams in Start Network, the successful candidate will have a key role in helping to deliver flagship events such as the Annual Assembly which will take place overseas in October.  The Events Support Officer will provide administrative and logistical support to events teams for their respective events and be comfortable working in a matrix management arrangement.

This job is varied and fast-paced a lot of the time and will include duties ranging from dealing with venues to booking flights and arranging catering.  In addition, the Events Support Officer will, from time to time, undertake administrative duties related to staff travel and other needs that may arise within the Operations team.

About the role

Home-based role within the East Midlands or Yorkshire and the Humber, or within reasonable travelling distance to meet the requirements of the post (subject to meeting homeworking assessment requirements, including a minimum broadband speed of 18Mbps and a dedicated space to work from).

In this role, you will be working collaboratively with other CSP organisers and colleagues across the wider Employment Relations and Union Services (ERUS) team, to support the continued development of the CSP as an effective trade union.

The post-holder will be able to use their experience, knowledge and skills to help realise the CSP organising strategy, participating in operational and strategic planning and evaluating the outcome of activities.
