The Exempt Accommodation Support Service is an expanding project based at our main hub in Digbeth but providing outreach support across a number of locations in the city. We are looking for exempt accommodation workers to provide flexible, person-centred support to people aged 18 years plus who are homeless, have a history of homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless and who may have a history of substance misuse. It will primarily be supporting people living in exempt accommodation who have support needs relating to addiction and who are in active treatment or contemplating treatment.

The aims of this service are to provide additional support to improve access and sustainment of suitable accommodation for people engaging in structured drug and alcohol treatment, to reduce the scale of unmet housing need for this group of clients and to build evidence of housing-related need and effective interventions. The service will provide a range of practical support around finances, health and wellbeing, access to volunteering or training opportunities and integration into local communities as well as supporting continued engagement with treatment and tenancy sustainment.

We’re looking for a Learning and Development Advisor (known internally as People Development Advisor) with design, facilitation and training delivery experience to join our People Development Team

You’ll play a key role in supporting our people to grow, develop and thrive—ensuring everyone has access to engaging, meaningful and impactful learning opportunities that help them do their best work for young people with cancer.

A significant part of your role will involve co-developing learning content with internal subject matter experts, ensuring their specialist insights are translated into accessible, high-quality development experiences. You’ll also co-design and deliver in‑house training, including digital skills programmes (such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams) and core management development for our people managers—covering areas like delegation, decision-making, problem-solving and effective objective‑setting.

Working closely with the People Development Manager and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll help drive our development priorities forward, champion great learning experiences, and ensure our people have the skills and knowledge they need—now and for the future.

What will I be doing?

My client, a well known charity, is looking to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant to join them for a period of 18 months. Working as part of the financial reporting team, your role will be to work on a project focused on providing financial expertise and support to the team with the 2026 Charities SORP, based on updated FRS 102, which introduces mandatory changes for accounting periods. The role is being offered on a fixed term basis and will be focused on the transition to new accounting standards and statutory reporting.

The Finance Business Partner supports key non- finance stakeholders to provide timely and insightful analysis and reporting and supports with the alignment of financial plans to operational and strategic priorities. The role will support the Institute Office as well as some of our separately funded programmes. The Finance Business Partner is responsible for the management of the Institute’s support costs and recharges, and therefore plays a pivotal role in the long-term financial sustainability of HDR UK. The role is responsible for maintaining clear and effective communication between the Finance team and the wider business and for ensuring that financial concepts and priorities are understood by the Institute Office and programme teams.

Main responsibilities

• Work with Budget Holders to manage financial performance, forecasts, and budgeting including understanding financial opportunities and risk for the area of business partnership.

• Lead on monthly reporting to the Institute Office and Programme teams, including posting month end journals, meeting with Budget Holders to discuss performance and budget variance and providing commentary and analysis on reports.

• Provide donor reporting and analysis as required to funders of specific programmes.

• Work with the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to plan, deliver, and review the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.

• Support the Associate Director of Finance and Head of FP&A to continuously review and update the 5-year financial plan.

• Support with projects and new process development to continuously improve and evolve our approach to internal financial reporting and modern finance business partnering.

• Support the Finance Business Partnering function with ad hoc reports and grant management and reporting.

• Provide training and advice to individuals internal and external to the Finance department.

• Support the Finance Officer with ad hoc queries and helpdesk needs.

• Support the Head of FP&A in utilising JET Reports to generate monthly management accounts for our Senior Leadership Team and Budget Holders, ensuring their accuracy and timely delivery.
