About St Gregory's Foundation

St Gregory's Foundation (SGF) is a small UK charity that has been working alongside trusted partners in Eastern Europe for over 30 years. Through our long-term partnerships and grant-making, we support vulnerable children, young people and families to build brighter futures while encouraging local initiatives and sustainable solutions.

We are governed by a small Board of Trustees who are passionate about St Gregory's and the work we do. Day-to-day operations are managed by our Executive Secretary, who is the charity's only employee.

The role

We are looking for a suitable candidate, whether junior or experienced, to maintain our accounting and financial records and prepare our annual accounts.

The role includes maintaining and reconciling our QuickBooks accounts, processing bank transfers and payments, preparing financial and management reports for quarterly Board meetings, submitting Gift Aid claims, and preparing our annual accounts with the Reporting Accountant.

As a small charity, this is a varied role requiring someone who is organised, has an excellent eye for detail, is reliable, and is able to work independently while also being a good communicator and team player.

Main responsibilities

Monthly tasks

• Record day-to-day income and expenditure.
• Enter transactions into QuickBooks for our RBS accounts, including standing orders and CAF donations, and reconcile the accounts.
• Process bank transfers and payments.
• Arrange payment of invoices (held in OneDrive).
• Arrange payment for our freelance Online Communications Assistant.
• Arrange payment of the Executive Secretary's expenses.
• Attend brief remote meetings with the Executive Secretary and a member of the Board, as required, to discuss donations, donor records, QuickBooks entries and financial reports.
• Prepare financial and management reports for Board meetings (4–5 times a year).

Semi-annual and annual tasks

• Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims twice a year: after the financial year end (31 December) and after the end of the tax year (5 April). Ensure Gift Aid declarations are completed by eligible donors.
• Prepare the annual accounts with the Reporting Accountant (once a year).
• Prepare a budget review with the Executive Secretary (twice a year).

Key skills and experience

• Relevant accountancy or bookkeeping qualification and/or experience.
• Experience of preparing annual accounts and financial reports.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively.
• Experience of using QuickBooks would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of charity accounting would be an advantage.

Essential Criteria

• A commitment to the aims of the National Institute of Teaching. 
• Educated to level 7 or higher, with experience of academic reading and writing at Level 7 or higher.
• Experience of designing materials for NPQs, ECTP, initial teacher training, PGCE or other higher education programmes.
• A proven track record/a minimum of 2+ years of experience in the development of educational materials, including presentations, e-learning material, checklists, participant guides, and other materials used in training and development. 
• Understanding of instructional design methods, theories and best practice. 
• Experience of designing materials that involve critical reflection. 
• Experience in the education sector, ideally as a teacher, leader or instructor.

This role will help shape Housing Justice’s national programme of quality improvement, training and best practice for community and faith-based homelessness services, using insight from our flagship Quality assurance framework, Impact Portal, existing research, and partnership engagement to continue the development of practice standards, resources and learning opportunities for the network. 

About you

We are seeking an experienced and organised programme lead with a strong understanding of homelessness, housing policy and practice, and quality improvement. You will bring strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting and facilitating, drafting reports, quality mark standards and guidance. You will also be comfortable managing multiple priorities, managing a small team, working with data and monitoring information, and building positive relationships with local authorities, funders, sector partners and organisations in the Housing Justice network. 

About the role

The successful candidate will lead the development and delivery of Housing Justice’s national quality improvement, training and best practice work for community and faith-based homelessness services across England. You will oversee the continued development of the Quality Mark accreditation scheme for emergency accommodation providers, lead the creation of a new Quality Framework for day services, develop an Emergency Accommodation Toolkit, and deliver training, learning events and communities of practice. 

The postholder will provide leadership to a small team, with line management responsibility for up to two members of staff, and will work closely with partners to strengthen service quality, safety, effectiveness and sustainability across the sector.

You will have excellent digital and IT skills, including Microsoft 365, Excel and Word, with the ability to adopt and apply AI-enabled productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot or equivalent) to improve ways of working.

You will also be confident in building relationships and working in partnership with shelters, day services, churches, community projects, funders, and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will provide essential operational, administrative and coordination support to the Faith and Community Development Team, working closely with the London Partnerships and Development Lead. Some knowledge of property sales and housing legislation is essential, along with good administration and IT skills with the ability to manage a large and varied workload.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Education Programmes Lead to inspire the next generation of changemakers through Fairtrade Foundation’s schools, university and youth engagement programmes. You'll lead the design and delivery of impactful education programmes, build partnerships with schools, universities and youth organisations, and secure funding to grow Fairtrade Foundation’s reach and influence among young people.

About you

You'll have experience developing education or youth engagement programmes, building strong external partnerships and securing funding opportunities. You'll be passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences and committed to equity, inclusion and anti-racist practice.
