Job Title: Deputy Service Manager

Location: Based within the Non-residential service in Wembley, working within communities, homes, and other residentials. This service does have step free access however we are unable to guarantee this at some of the other locations where the role is based such as homes and community based locations.

Salary: £31,700

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota working 09:00 - 17:00, hours may be extended 08:00 - 18:00. You may also be required to work outside these hours as per service/participant requirements. You will also take part in our out of hours on call rota for managers.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Wembley. You will support the Service Manager to ensure high quality service delivery, being a key contact for staff, helping them feel supported, skilled, and empowered within their roles. In this role you will be based within a service which is at the heart of delivering person-centred support to vulnerable adults who have been, or are at risk of homelessness. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
• Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service
• Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed
• Financial Management, including petty cash and budget management
• Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

We are looking for someone to join us for a maternity cover contract from February 2026 to March 2027.  In our London Office vet team as our Veterinary Nurse Manager overseeing and supporting our vet nurse teams across the organisation.  

What does this role do?

As a Veterinary nurse manager you will,
 

• Lead and manage including making any required changes to  the SAS and VSF funding schemes, supporting the team to manage their workload.
• Oversee the invoice management for payments relating to these schemes and liaising with the Head of Finance.
• Support the Senior Vet Nurses in managing the Emergency Trust Fund (ETF) and any exceptional funding agreed for veterinary care of dogs.
• Provide professional support to the veterinary nursing teams working within the rehoming centres supporting their individual professional development as well as the functions of the vet suites. 
• Oversee patient safety and continual improvement across all vet nurse teams.
• Liaise with wider DT departments (Operations, Communications and Customer Support Centre) to manage escalated complaints which may include difficult or sensitive situations.
•  Represent the clinical veterinary team in cross organisational projects as well as undertake project management work that aligns with our strategy.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced programme manager who will oversee The Advice Workforce Development Fund (AWDF). AWDF is a collaborative programme dedicated to strengthening and sustaining the social welfare advice sector in London. The role will coordinate and run steering and advisory groups, and ‘task and finish’ groups, working with cross-sector stakeholders to enable the implementation of recent recommendations generated by research commissioned by the programme, and help with monitoring and evaluating the project and funded projects under this programme. About Sister System 

Founded in 2018, Sister System is a charitable organisation and an Open College Network (OCN) approved centre dedicated to empowering girls and young women aged 13-24 affected by the care system.   

Our approach is co-designed with care-affected young women to ensure that their lived experiences continue to drive meaningful change and shape our progression. Job Purpose 

Sister System is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Programmes to lead the operational delivery and continuous improvement of our mentoring, learning, and development programmes for care-affected girls and young women aged 13–24. The postholder will oversee the full programme cycle — from referral and assessment through to delivery, evaluation, and progression — ensuring all work is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and aligned with Sister System’s mission and OCN accreditation standards. Acting as the central link between the leadership team and delivery staff, the Head of Programmes will manage and develop a high-performing team, maintain quality assurance across all programme stages, and foster strong partnerships with schools, local authorities, and community organisations to drive measurable impact and long-term systemic change.  

This role holds operational oversight of all programme delivery, team management, and quality assurance, ensuring that our work achieves its intended outcomes, aligns with our organisational strategy, and continues to grow in impact and reach.  

Key Responsibilities  

Programme Leadership and Delivery  

• Lead the design, coordination, and delivery of all Sister System programmes, services, and activities in line with organisational aims and funder requirements.  

• Oversee programme planning, scheduling, and annual mapping to ensure smooth delivery and strategic alignment across all three stages (Enable, Enhance, Empower).  

• Work with the Safeguarding Lead to manage referral, assessment, and placement processes to ensure beneficiaries are appropriately matched to programmes and mentors, maintaining high standards of transparency and accountability throughout.

You will act as a trusted advisor to leaders and managers, providing pragmatic, legally sound guidance on employee relations matters. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing complex ER cases including disciplinaries, grievances, performance, absence and conduct

• Leading and overseeing investigations, ensuring fairness and legal compliance

• Coaching managers to build confidence and capability in people management

• Overseeing ER casework delivered by an outsourced HR provider

• Supporting HR projects and organisational change initiatives, including restructures, TUPE and workforce planning

• Deputising for senior People & Culture leadership when required

About you

We are seeking a Social Media Manager to join our Communications and Marketing team. You will lead our social media strategy, manage our channels, and create compelling, story-led content that engages new and existing supporters and raises awareness of World Jewish Relief. You’ll oversee our online voice, working closely with colleagues across communications, fundraising, and programmes to ensure a consistent, authentic presence across all platforms.​

You will be responsible for:

• Planning, designing, editing and publishing engaging, exciting, on-brand content including posts, stories, videos, and graphics collaborating with the Creative team.
• Writing clear, emotive copy tailored for each platform and audience.
• Ensuring ethical storytelling practices that respect the dignity and rights of the people we work with.
• Iterating and delivering a social media strategy aligned with the World Jewish Relief’s mission, brand, and campaigns.
• Managing day-to-day activity across all current platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube) and support us to develop our presence outside of these platforms.
• Using analytics to track engagement, optimise content, and report on performance and growth, ensuring insights feed into our tactics moving forward.
• Working closely with Head of Marketing to support paid campaigns across digital channels and ensure they are aligned with organic activity.
• Working closely with the fundraising, Marketing & Communication teams to deliver integrated fundraising campaigns and events, aligned with campaign narratives but specific for social media audiences.
• Working closely with Programmers and Partners to ensure they understand what good content looks like so you can maximise across our channels.
• Monitoring social media conversations and engaging in a timely and compassionate way.​

You should have:

• Experience managing and growing social media channels for a brand, ideally a charity, NGO, or values-driven organisation.
• Strong content creation and editing skills (photography, video, and short-form editing) with experiencing creating content for a brand, with demonstrable results.
• Ability to create and tailor content for a variety of global audiences, and report on results.
• Confident using social media analytics and scheduling tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite).
• Understanding of ethical communications and safeguarding in international development contexts.
• Expertise using design tools such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
• Creative thinker with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Outstanding copywriting skills for online audiences and strong understanding of the Jewish community
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail and tone of voice.​

About the role
