The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status concerned with all matters relating to the science and practice of pathology. It is a body of its Fellows, Diplomates, Affiliates and trainees, supported by the staff who are based at the College's London offices.

The College oversees the training of pathologists and scientists working in 17 different specialties, which include cellular pathology, haematology, clinical biochemistry and medical microbiology.
Although some pathologists work in laboratories, many work directly with patients in hospitals and the community. Together, they are involved in the majority of all diagnoses and play an important role in disease prevention, treatment, and monitoring. If you have ever had a blood test, cervical smear or tissue biopsy, a pathologist will have been involved in your care.

Main Purpose

The Royal College of Pathologists is seeking a ServiceDesk Manager to lead the IT ServiceDesk and operational management of the IT function. The post holder will have a proven track record of leading a team of ServiceDesk Analyst to provide support for the College's IT and AV technology transformation. The role will be responsible for overseeing the day to day support of the IT and AV services across the RCPath. Reporting to the Head of IT, the ServiceDesk Manager is a highly visible and leading role within the IT Team and will work closely with all departments and the Senior Management Team. The following are some of the key requirements for the role:

• To lead the support of college-wide data and business applications. This includes Microsoft 365, Open Engage (and the new Dynamics 365 replacement) and associated interfaces to the College websites, LEPT (Learning Environment for Pathology Trainees) and other business application services.
• To ensure that the IT supporting services (IT & Audio Visual) are operational on a 24x7, 365-day basis.
• To manage the continual service improvement for the support of all business systems and associated processes.
• To support College users and events in the use of business applications and Audio Visual equipment, including identifying and supporting training for users (as required).
• To support the management and delivery of projects according to the College’s ongoing development plans.
• To manage an accurate log of all college IT and AV (Audio Visual) Inventory (hardware and software) in a central database (SolarWinds) and ensure that all stock items are kept in a clean, efficient, organised and tidy location.
• To design, deliver and maintain controls and service processes aligned to industry standards, based on the ITIL Service Management processes.
• To analyse, interpret highly complex information as part of major Incident reviews based upon a variety of volatile information sources and produce concise, accurate root cause analysis reports to ensure the team continue to learn from such incidents and avoid re-occurrence.
• To contribute to the development and implementation of a strategy for the on-going support and development of the business-critical IT infrastructure and security.
• To support and update the IT Risk register, identifying risks and issues in own area of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Use your knowledge of email excellence to bring surprise and delight to the inboxes of our supporters, contributing to the quality of their supporter experience across our 3 brands.

Knowledge and experience

• At least 2 years of email marketing experience, not limited to the not for profit or health sector.
• A knowledge of at least 2 ESPs and the platforms that form an email tech stack, such as CRMs and integrations.
• Knowledge of the role data plays in audience segmentation and key segments.
• Demonstrable experience planning and building emails based on data-driven decisions and overseeing delivery from planning to send.
•  Experience working with stakeholders of different levels with the ability to confidently communicate informed by experience.

Job purpose:

Working closely with our lawyers you will have a hands-on role in supporting Friends of the Earth’s campaigns. You will join meetings, conduct research, help to prepare legal documents, participate in our campaigning in action, and get to know what makes a campaigning environmental NGO tick. 

Possessing a degree in Law or equivalent qualification (i.e. law conversion course or joint law degree) with a 2:1 grade or above, you will have good knowledge of public, assimilated EU law, human rights, environmental and/or planning law and will have experience of undertaking detailed legal research and analysis.

This is an exciting role in our fundraising team that will create and manage engaging content across various platforms, enhancing our digital presence.  The role is pivotal in highlighting the Centre’s impact, aiming to amplify the voices of young people, children and families we support.  A natural with websites and associated software, marketing and content creation, you’ll be comfortable as point of contact in a standalone role.  Bringing your experience and strong communications skills, you’ll proactively seek to continually improve yourself and the role, taking ownership and accountability of your workload.

The Role

The key purpose of this role is to together with the EA to the Vicar provide day-to-day support for the running of the Vicar’s Office and in particular for the Vicar (Archie Coates) and the Senior Leader (Sam Coates). The role also provides light touch support and diary management for the HTB Group COO and the HTB Group Chief of Staff.

The Key Responsibilities

Listed below are the key elements that the role holder will be accountable for delivering:

To support, help and advise the senior team in professional and personal matters by:

• Prioritising and actioning daily tasks, operating as a two-way channel of information and communication; action or delegate requests and tasks to the team/ organisation where appropriate, and then report back to the senior team. This may also involve acting as a liaison between the senior team and the wider organisation ensuring strong communication both ways.
• Organising and maintaining diaries.
• Acting and speaking on behalf of the senior team. This includes oversight of inboxes, letter correspondence and phone calls.
• Ensuring that the team have all they need, in advance, for talks, presentations, meetings, trips, etc and freeing them of all unnecessary administration, phone calls, interruptions, etc.
• Providing support to the vicarage for hospitality of meetings and events and other personal matters (including catering for occasional evening meetings e.g. PCC).
• Carrying out specific projects, research and administrative tasks.
• Receiving requests from internal and/ or external contacts, filtering and then delegate or address these as appropriate.

Major event support: An active role in certain aspects of events; and keeping the Vicar’s Office function and team, and the Coates’s operating while being offsite for Focus and other key events.

Special Services Coordinator:

• Coordination and oversight of baptisms across the services at HTB.
• Assistance in coordinating weddings and covering for funerals when the Weddings & Funerals Coordinator is away.

The Ideal Candidate

• Very strong administrative skills
• Highly organised, energetic and unflappable under pressure or in challenging situations.
• Demonstrably consistently excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility and excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and constantly re-prioritise own workload under consistently high pressure.

About you

 How are staff supported to work remotely? 

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. All Employees are homebased meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.
