Our Community Organiser plays a crucial role in contributing to our ongoing Permanent, Safe Homes Now campaign, which aims to set a precedent for housing reform nationwide. Our mission is to drive meaningful change and empower communities facing social injustice across the UK.

As part of our team, you'll contribute to expanding and strengthening PEACH's membership and influence. This involves planning and executing strategic campaigns collaboratively, which aim to address key issues our members face. You'll also oversee project delivery, monitor progress and report on outcomes, and communicate successes and best practices. In this collaborative environment, you'll work with team members to shape PEACH's organising strategy, foster organisational growth, and support decision-making on future directions.

The Ideal individual will have prior community organising experience (paid or voluntary), with a deep understanding and experience of collective action's transformative potential. You will have a solid understanding of the political landscape with an underlying community organising mentality. You will be comfortable knocking on doors and moving people to act within their capacity, whilst presenting an empathetic and understanding nature.

Job Description: :

● To support the Custom House and Canning Town community to grow and develop, working with them to build their sense of belonging, community pride and spirit. 

● To listen to local people, to support them to develop power to act together for the common good and help them act on the local issues that are important to them.

● Contribute to developing PEACH's collective power as a Community Union in collaboration with members, Steering Group, Trustees/Directors, and fellow staff members. Oversee the execution of this strategy.

● Cultivate a thriving organising culture at PEACH by training members and staff in community organising methods, continually learning and reflecting on organising practices, and refining the PEACH organising model, including creating training materials.

● Build strong, transformative relationships with new and existing PEACH members through door-knocking and relational 1 to 1’s.

● Identify community leaders, nurture members' leadership skills, and foster strong teams. Challenge and support members/teams to acquire new skills, take on new tasks and take ownership of the organisation and its projects/campaigns.

● Identify organising issues with members, develop effective campaign strategies, and support members in taking collective action and in building community cohesion. 

● Lead negotiation strategies with key stakeholders.

● Organise and facilitate engaging, accessible meetings, training sessions, and events with members and the PEACH staff team, as well as meeting turnout targets.

No day is the same with the variety of responsibilities as a Learning and Development Officer at SSAFA. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring a seamless and enriching learning experience for employees, working closely with the Learning & Organisational Development Manager and the broader People team to foster a culture of continuous learning across the organisation.

You will be a confident communicator, with excellent literacy and numerical skills in to order to liaise effectively with managers regarding a range of issues or, when required, produce professional documentation to high standards. The team is small so you will need to be able to use your own judgement and initiative to complete day to day tasks.

To ensure you can hit the ground running, demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Office products is essential to complete the range of tasks required in this role as well as accurate data/record inputting.

This home-based role is now available due to the current post holder moving on to new pastures. The Trust team has had incredible success in recent years, which we are eager to sustain and grow. The MYcommunity Gateway Team provides support across Age UK Lambeth’s three Neighbourhoods: North, South and Central. 

Age UK Lambeth and the MYcommunity Gateway team have partnered with Lambeth Adult Social Care in response to the redesign of their Initial Contact Service. Age UK Lambeth provides a busy, in-demand helpline to all new callers to Lambeth Adult Social Care. The helpline provides a triage service, dealing with enquiries, providing individuals the opportunity to discuss their issues and be provided with advice, information and guidance and potentially signposted to a range of services to provide them with support. Where appropriate, referrals are made to ASC for an assessment. 

Call operation times will be Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm, excluding bank holidays.

The service works closely with Lambeth Adult Social Care and we have a base working alongside them at the Civic Centre in Brixton. Staff work hybridly, with the opportunity to work from home at least two days per week.

What you’ll be doing?

1. The Helpline Worker will answer Lambeth Adult Social Care’s telephone line where the caller has selected a new caller to the service. 

2. Answer a range of queries and offer reassurance to all callers.

3. Refer clients to Adult Social Care for an assessment where appropriate.

4. Refer clients into external and partner services to provide support and refer clients to other Age UK Lambeth services.

About The Role

The London Wetland Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Officer to join to the team.  This role will help drive visitation to London Wetland Centre, raise brand awareness and increase engagement across social media platforms.

The role will focus on creating engaging content, delivering PR, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver agreed marketing and communications activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working closely with the Senior Visitor Marketing Manager to create multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive visitation to London Wetland Centre and enhance WWT brand awareness.
• Creating and delivering the centre’s PR activities, maximising local and regional media opportunities by developing excellent media contacts, creating engaging copy for editorial coverage, and supervising media site visits.
• Managing all social media channels and creating engaging content to, drive visitation, promote events, and engage visitors with our conservation work.

Purpose of the role

• Reporting to the High Value Partnerships Manager you will provide support across our two priority Fundraising streams – Community Fundraising (Community, Events and Individual/Regular Giving) and High Value Partnerships (Trusts, Grants, Corporate and Sponsorship).
• Conducting prospect research (Corporate and Trusts/Grants) creating a pipeline of targeted opportunities, and submitting applications for lower level funding

Community Fundraising Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and talented fundraising team

We are looking for an experienced Community Fundraising Manager to join our small and friendly fundraising team. You will be responsible for driving our strategy for Community Fundraising, Individual/Regular Giving and Events. With a database of around 100,000 registrants and 15,000 members, these existing income streams have lots of great potential. We have amazing fundraisers in our community who take on challenges like the London Marathon, London to Brighton bike ride, or their own swimming challenge and there’s lots of great potential amongst our supporters, including our committed members and regular givers.

Contract:  Permanent

Purpose of the role

• Grow a successful existing income stream (Fundraising Events and Regular Giving) and develop and grow a comparatively new income stream (Community Fundraising and Individual Giving) for Twins Trust. You will do this alongside other fundraisers in the team and with support from a Fundraising Officer.
• Lead and develop a multi-year strategy for growing our Community and Events programmes, with a well-planned calendar of events throughout the year covering different themes and geographies.
• Lead the strategy for our Individual/Regular Giving programme
• Lead on the creation, planning and delivery of a new Twins Trust owned mass participation fundraising event
