About the role

Ensure we operate transparently and responsibly

As Governance Manager, you’ll take charge of The King’s Fund’s governance arrangements to ensure the charity runs as it should. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll see that the support structures and processes are in place for us to meet our obligations and strategic goals.

Over the course of the year, you’ll support meetings for the Board of Trustees, the General Advisory Council and the Senior Management Team. As well as governance advice, you’ll provide administration and co-ordination; manage the reporting cycle; and keep an up-to-date register of interests.

About you

Experience is essential and you will bring with you a firm grasp of charity governance frameworks, processes and senior-level decision-making from previous role(s) within a governance role in a charity (or a similar organisation). In fact, when you’re not supporting meetings, you’ll champion governance across our team. Efficient and digitally savvy, you’ll support assurance processes and bring instant credibility.

The National Deaf Ministry Advisor plays an important role in helping the Church of England become more inclusive and accessible for Deaf people. Working within a national team that supports ministry and leadership across the Church, the post holder will bring expertise in Deaf culture, communication and advocacy to ensure Deaf people can fully participate in worship, leadership and community life. This includes advising senior leaders, supporting policy development and helping to shape a Church where Deaf voices are heard, valued and represented. You will work closely with colleagues, dioceses and networks supporting Deaf ministry to provide guidance, training and encouragement. The role involves building strong relationships, supporting those already involved in Deaf ministry and advocating for fair access and opportunities, including for those exploring ordained or lay ministry roles. About the role

This position involves supporting the Finance team by providing financial assistance to the Head of Finance in maintaining the organisation’s financial records and internal controls.

You will utilise your finance skills to ensure that transactions are accurately and promptly recorded, and you’ll assist in preparing high-quality month-end reports. You will also collaborate closely with the Finance Officer and wider teams to contribute to the organisation’s financial reporting and planning.

We are seeking a collaborative and experienced Head of Grants to lead our high-quality, forward-thinking grants programme. You will oversee a £5m+ portfolio across 200+ funds, ensuring our funding delivers real impact for patients, staff and communities.

Working across Westminster and the devolved nations, you will build and maintain strong relationships with parliamentarians, government officials and key stakeholders, ensuring our voice is heard where it matters most and translating evidence and insight into meaningful policy change.

You will lead, support and develop a small team (two Policy and Public Affairs Officers: one focused on Scotland and Northern Ireland; the other focused on England and Wales). Our Adult Learning Manager is a key operational role within the Adult Learning, Skills and Employment service. The Biochemical Society are seeking a Head of Journals, on a 2-year Fixed Term contract on a part time basis (0.6 FTE), to oversee the editorial and production functions across the Portland Press portfolio.

The Head of Journals will support the Director of Content and Engagement on the delivery of the PPL strategy, growing the publishing portfolio based on strategy and community need to achieve agreed targets, year-on-year growth, increase usage and attract the best authorship. You will also work closely with the Head of Sales and Licensing to ensure content and commercial strategies are aligned to drive growth and innovation.

The post-holder will oversee all systems, processes, suppliers and partners are delivering to agreed standards, along with driving continuous improvements to KPIs within publishing processes to deliver high-quality, cost-effective end-to-end publishing service in line with business strategy and research need, and able to recommend improvements or innovative ways of working.
