WCCM seeks to appoint an experienced, highly motivated, talented, resourceful, emotionally intelligent and hardworking Senior Finance Manager to manage finance and governance across our international office in London and our Retreat Centre based in Bonnevaux. Working with the Executive Director and Trustees, and with the support of a small, dedicated team, you will lead on WCCM’s financial strategy and planning, ensuring compliance with statutory and non-statutory bodies, working to maximise income and automate processes. You will also have responsibility for core organisational support functions such as HR, GDPR and Health and Safety. You will have significant experience in finance roles, with knowledge and experience of UK charity finance, and operational support functions. Occasional trips to France. Purpose of Job

Position: Programme Officer

Reporting to: Senior Programme Manager

Location: Sidcup, Greater London, and hybrid working of 1 day in the office and 4 days remote (subject to change)

Starting Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 gross per annum (based on experience) plus benefits

Purpose

The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of project delivery activities across our portfolio, predominantly in Africa, Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. 

The post holder will support project delivery, ensuring quality expectations (internal and client), delivering within the scope and budgeted resources of projects, and in line with project timelines. The post holder will work closely with other members of the project delivery team, our technical team, delivery partners, and consultants to ensure projects maximise their positive impact.

The Programme Officer will also support the Senior Programme Manager to disseminate good management practice across the organisation, and advise on delivery approaches.

Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Programme Officer include the following:

Project Support

• Provide support to Programme Managers in the delivery of projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope and comply with client contracts
• Take on the project management of assigned select projects within a determined budget/complexity threshold, ensuring that they are delivered to time and quality
• Set-up and monitor project workplans, including change requests ensuring that approvals are formally recorded and filed
• Manage day-to-day relationships with delivery partners and internal team(s) and build a solid understanding of delivery needs and timelines across projects
• Monitor and support timely client and consultant billing and invoices attached to delivery
• Support onboarding of consultants for new projects, including due diligence checks and contract preparation based on set templates
• Ensure project management software and tools are accurate and kept up to date for allocated projects
• Provide timely responses to client queries and alert the Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management of any potential risks
• Lead duty of care and travel planning for staff and consultants, working alongside administrative officers
• Liaise closely with technical colleagues, Head of team, and Programme Managers / Officers on project support needs.

 Project Financial Management

• Monitor project budget performance, capturing variances and liaising with the Finance Team and Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management
• Monitor and support the processing of consultants’ expenses/fees against contracts and client invoices against contracts
• Make recommendations to ensure financial outcomes are met with respect to time, quality and cost, and provide early warning of project overspend
• Prepare internal project update reporting including finances and resourcing using required management tools. 

Organisational Support and Business Development

• Provide support in strengthening policies, procedures, and management tools for Development Pathways
• Coordinate with wider project teams to ensure technical capacity is well planned across Development Pathways’ portfolio of projects 
• Signpost colleagues to relevant project management tools and processes, when required
• Support project closure processes as required, capturing and sharing lessons internally
• Provide ad hoc input to evolving organisational requirements as directed by senior members
• Assist with the identification and monitoring of business opportunities in donor markets, as requested
• Update SharePoint and ensure project data sheets are developed and up to date to facilitate bids for tenders
• Collate and share project information to support the Business Development and Communications department.

Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours

The Programme Officer will require the following combination of applied skills, knowledge, and behaviours to successfully contribute to team goals:

Required:

• An undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject 
• Up to 2 years’ experience working on project support or delivery within international development,  research and/or the consultancy sector
• Ability and confidence to work independently and manage their own workflows
• Good communication skills and an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at the individual level and in representation of the organisation
• Excellent drafting skills.
•  Ability to understand and effectively analyse and utilise financial information
• Proven ability to resolve problems, anticipate barriers and create practical solutions
• High IT proficiency (Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), SharePoint, etc.)
• Demonstrated attention to detail ensuring quality standards are maintained
• Ability to travel internationally when required.

Advantageous:

• 1-2 years direct project management experience
• Proficiency in additional languages, especially Arabic or French.

We’re a small, creative, and fast-growing team who run team-challenges days in schools, usually for a whole year group. We work in both the maintained and independent sector across London and the South East.

The Philosophy Man delivers workshops and training to help schools embed philosophy, oracy and metacognition into their curriculum
P4HE provides online and in-person workshops in philosophy, debating, acting, writing and more, for home and mainstream educated children from 6 to 18. It also runs regular residential weekends in Kettering.

Our ambitions

Hidden Leaders currently works with 20 schools across London and the South East (and dozens more in our other organisations above). Word is spreading about us and we are growing in size, and we anticipate delivering even more sessions in schools in the coming years. And so we are looking to expand our small, trusted expert group of freelance facilitators to help us deliver this impact.

The Role

We’re looking for experienced, energetic and confident freelance facilitators to help us deliver our tried-and-tested activities — from team-building and orienteering to improv games, problem-solving challenges, debates, archery, and axe throwing. We don’t expect anyone to be experienced in all of these - every member of our team of freelancers has their own areas of expertise and choose to be deployed on particular activities that most suit their skills and experience.

You’ll be working with a diverse range of schools, from primary and prep schools, right through secondary to sixth forms, facilitating sessions to inspire teamwork, communication, resilience, and leadership.

You’ll always be working on a day under the guidance of one of our Founder Directors, Tom and Alex. 

Important to know

We are looking for freelancers who may be available for work and who fit our ethos, values and activities to whom we can offer as and when it comes in. 

We couldn’t do what we do without our core team of trusted freelancers. We look after those we work with by offering regular training and observation opportunities so they can expand their repertoire. 

However, joining our pool of freelancers will not involve a fixed contract of employment or a guarantee of regular work. Our existing freelancers work with us anywhere between 3 - 15 days per/year. Such work offers very useful supplementary income alongside other roles at other organisations (or their own) rather than a core income. Our busiest times of year are:

September — where we deliver team building/bonding days for new year groups

May, June and July — where we deliver similar days but usually as part of school activity weeks

We anticipate further growth at these times, and also are looking to expand our offer to more indoor/lower cost days in the Autumn/Spring term. And to deliver these we will need more staff!

Responsibilities

• Facilitate pre-designed Hidden Leaders sessions and activities in schools

• Engage and motivate participants, creating an inclusive and supportive environment

• Brief, instruct, and ensure safety during practical activities

• Encourage reflection and discussion to link activities to personal and team development

• Adapt delivery style to suit different audiences, group sizes, and abilities

• Take care of activity equipment and ensure activity areas are safe and ready to use

• Represent Hidden Leaders professionally in schools

• Adhere to our high delivery standards and health safety and our strict safeguarding obligations at all time
   

We need you to have…

• Significant experience facilitating group activities with young people (e.g. classroom teaching, team-building, outdoor education, public-speaking training, drama/improv, youth work)

• Confident communicator and able to deliver exceptionally engaging sessions to groups of up to 30 to all ages from KS2 to Sixth Form

• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable arriving at a school to help us set up at 8am, and be packing down with us afterwards

• A big sense of fun and joy in what you do - we don’t do dry

• The ability to relate to young people in a way that isn’t “teacherly” but at the same time firm and in-command

• Strong situational awareness and ability to manage group safety effectively

• Flexible, adaptable, and able to think on your feet to differentiate activities in the moment

• Willingness and ability to travel to different locations across the South East

A bonus if you have…

• (For outdoor education experts): Outdoor activity instruction qualifications (e.g., Archery GB Leader / Outdoor First Aid / Lowland Leader)

• Have any experience leading or co-leading events or expeditions and so be able to step into the shoes of Day Director if we need you to (and obviously be remunerated accordingly)

• Any experience running activities not listed above, but that you’d think schools would love as part of our Team Challenge days

• Are confident speaking in front of larger groups such as school assemblies or full year-group briefings

• Clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

• does not contain significant experience (4+ years) working with young people in an official role (e.g. teacher, youth-leader, outdoor educator)

You'll support the delivery of impactful campaigns - shifting hearts and minds from day one. 

From crafting emails that inspire people to take action, to brainstorming graphics that cut through the noise, to getting stuck into the behind-the-scenes-detail that gets a campaign out the door, you’ll be working hard, fast and learning everyday.

We don’t expect a Digital Campaigns Assistant to know everything about digital campaigning in a political space. But you’ll come with at least 1-2 years experience in digital roles or where you've used digital as a core discipline. 

Day-to-day you will:

• Craft punchy emails, petitions, event forms and action pages that move people to action

• Brainstorm beautiful posters, social media graphics and videos that cut through the noise

• Draft compelling and moving video scripts 

• Post powerful content and copy on social media, keeping our campaign channels active and inspiring

• Help develop and moderate our online supporter communities 

• Help us administrate and understand our campaigns and audiences better by getting your head into data entry, analysis, and research

• Create and build peer-to-peer text or phone banking campaigns, seeing them through end-to-end

• Build confidence in a variety of digital tools - like Action Network, Airtable, Favro, Slack, CallHub, GetThru and Front - to achieve maximum impact in campaigns

You'll also have an opportunity to learn more about campaigning as a craft at Small Axe across creative, production and organising. 

Occasionally that will mean getting stuck into helping to produce campaign events like petition hand-ins or creative stunts, conferences or film and photoshoots. You might build relationships with spokespeople and feed into campaign strategy.

Wildlife and Countryside Link is a coalition of 90 environmental charities. We are looking for a Policy Officer to help develop, advocate and win policy improvements for nature.

The Government has promised to halt the decline of nature by 2030 and to net zero by 2050, committing to decarbonising our energy systems as a core government mission. Such commitments have been made within the backdrop of a challenging economic environment. The next few years will be critical in securing nature based solutions as part of the drive to reach net zero and in developing our understanding of and engagement with private investment for nature’s recovery as these fledging funding streams evolve.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Policy Officer to convene environmental policy experts to agree bold shared policy positions. This role will focus on economic systems change, including innovative work on ways to drive private investment in nature; and on the role that nature must play in helping us to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change. There will be lots of thinking, lots of writing, and lots of opportunities to shape shared campaigns with excellent opportunities to engage with and work alongside some of the leading experts in these policy areas. You will also play a key role in delivering those messages to key influencers in Government and in Parliament.

So, we are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a good networker with the ability to listen and negotiate, and a reasoned and convincing style of written and verbal communication, with a passion for nature conservation.

Rape Crisis South London is looking for a skilled and experienced professional who is passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. 
 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the delivery of the South West London (SWL) Child Sexual Abuse Early Emotional Support Service for the CYP service. Working closely with the NHS and Schools you will manage a small specialist counselling team ensuring high-quality, trauma informed support for our young people who have experienced sexual violence. It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of Safeguarding legislation for children and adults, as well as child development. 
 

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to develop partnerships with schools, families, funders and other key stakeholders. You will hold a relevant professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy and be registered with the BACP/UKCP or equivalent. You will have significant experience of working therapeutically with children and young people, ideally in the contexts of trauma or abuse. 
 

Responsible to the Clinical Lead for CYP you will also provide additional support in the management and allocation of referrals, as well as provide additional support and advice as required to the wider CYP Service.

We are looking for a Trust Fundraising Officer to join our supportive Trusts and Grants fundraising team, playing a key role in helping raise vital funds for services that support people experiencing and recovering from homelessness to rebuild their lives.

In the role of Trust Fundraising Officer, you will work closely with a team of four other trust fundraisers, helping to meet our income target of circa £1.5m in 2025-26, and produce high quality written proposals and reports that reflect the impact of philanthropic support on the people we work with.

In this role, you will develop compelling fundraising proposals about our varied projects and will be supported to manage a portfolio of small to medium trusts and family foundations (giving up to £10,000). You will build strong relationships with trust funders, communicating the impact of their grants and helping them to feel connected to the work they are supporting.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for in person collaboration, team meetings and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations. 

About you

We think this role will suit someone keen to develop their skills in fundraising. If you have some experience in a fundraising environment, and an understanding of trusts and grants our dedicated team will support you to learn all about the interests and working methods of trusts, foundations and charitable grant makers.

You will be able to demonstrate good organisation skills, interest in working collaboratively as part of a team; and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of different people while promoting the values of St Mungo’s and the work that we do as a charity.
