World Obesity Federation is seeking an Events Coordinator to join their team as maternity cover.

World Obesity Federation (WOF) is a worldwide federation with over 100 members and takes a holistic view of obesity from cause and prevention to treatment. WOF is a lead partner to global agencies on obesity, including WHO, and a member of the Global Obesity Coalition.

This position will begin assisting the Events Manager with the events programme and continue as maternity cover in 2025. Main responsibilities will include managing the educational events programme including in person obesity management training courses ‘Scope Schools’ as part of the SCOPE e-learning site held regularly throughout the year, and monthly educational webinars, alongside the Head of Education.

Also working with Head of Policy on medium sized events such as the Global Obesity Forum in person in New York in September 2025, and other smaller policy and fundraising meetings throughout the year. Also included in the role is managing webinars for World Obesity Day and other campaign days.

It will also involve managing the planning of the bi-annual congress the International Congress on Obesity to be held in Mexico City June 2026, overseeing the work of the PCO and organising committees to ensure development is on schedule and key milestones are achieved.

Essential skills and experience - experience of managing medium sized global events and conferences on an international scale, working with global stakeholders. Excellent administration and organisational skills, right to work in the UK and able to travel internationally on a regular basis.

Our Brighton & Hove Services provide supported accommodation for 50 young people at risk of homelessness across two sites. Gareth Stacey House is one of our 24-hour supported housing projects offering high and medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged of 16-25 with 15 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. Our staff team comprises of Support Workers, Night Staff and Managers. Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals.

As a Supported Housing Support Worker you will hold a caseload of residents, working with them on a one-to-one basis with also facilitating group work sessions. You will identify their needs by listening to them, with employing psychologically informed approaches to enable residents to make better choices and take responsibility for their actions. You will work closely with other services such as, Social Services, Police, Probation, education providers and local organisations. Our projects already have excellent working relationships with these services, and your role will build on these. You will be helping them to improve their practical living skills such as cleaning, budgeting, managing behaviour, seeking, and securing employment and making wise decisions. As a Support Advisor working full time or part time, you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the RISE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.

You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working part time or full time alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Gloucester, providing support to Bristol and North Wilts as required, the project aims to:

• Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.

As a charity and social enterprise, our vision is that everyone has a safe place to call home. We work to break the cycle of homelessness through innovative supported employment and housing solutions and give out around 165,000 items of free food year-round through our coffee shops and community networks. We work to end people’s isolation and exclusion by helping them to overcome barriers.

We are looking for a special someone to run our Social Impact Programme in Edinburgh and engage with people who have been affected by homelessness in volunteering and employment opportunities.

Our Social Impact Team is energetic and enthusiastic with a passion and commitment to improving the lives of people who are vulnerable. This is a job for someone who loves variety – every day brings something new. You will also be a food lover, as part of your job will involve preparation and delivery of Social Suppers.

You will come with experience of working to support and develop individuals with multiple/complex needs and a desire to join our collaborative movement to end homelessness. You will build positive relationships with volunteers and external partners.

You will enjoy taking your own initiative but also working as a part of the team. You might travel around our various locations. You will be resilient, always bringing a smile and a can-do attitude to your work.

Please note you will be required to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We need you to be:

• A person who has good knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable adults and challenging situations
• A person who can quickly build strong relationships for developing effective internal relationships and partnerships with a range of charities
• Flexible with a willingness to learn
• Passionate about people with a drive to make a change

About the Role​

Our Help to Claim service assists people with claiming Universal Credit (UC), from advising if UC is the right benefit for them up to ensuring they receive their first correct payment. Citizens Advice Camden has been delivering the Help to Claim service since it launched five years ago.​

Help to Claim is delivered by telephone, email and webchat as part of the national service. The service is available Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm. As a Help to Claim Adviser, you will contribute towards delivery of this service across all channels on a rota basis. We are based in central London and our Help to Claim team will be working a hybrid office-based/ remote model.​

The role is open to qualified advisers who have recent experience in delivering advice on Universal Credit. Whilst we are keen to provide paid to train opportunities where we can, this role is not suitable for a trainee and such applications cannot be considered. Please check the person specification below to ensure you meet the requirements for the role before applying.​

As a requirement of this role, all staff must also pass a basic DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check.
