We have a fantastic opportunity for an Income officer to join our Customer Accounts team at SNG.

This is a full time, permanent role. Based from our Greenham Hub, near Newbury, you'll combine home and office working alongside time out with our customers in the Andover and Wiltshire area.

We are offering a starting salary of £30,000 - £35,000, depending on your experience.

The role

As an Income Officer, you'll carry out a range of tasks including negotiating payment arrangements with customers, providing welfare benefit and money advice and preparing applications for court. You'll be on standby to visit customers in their home as well as occasionally attending court hearings.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering a comprehensive rent & service charge collection service across the region
• Monitoring customer accounts for all tenures
• Managing end to end processes
• Engaging with external agencies including local authorities when needed
• Managing evictions

To be successful in this role you'll need:

• Experience in income management or debt recovery/collection
• Knowledge and experience of either social housing, home ownership or the private rented sector
• Excellent customer service skills
• A working knowledge of welfare benefits
• To be a self-starter with a proactive approach and possess the ability to work without close supervision
• To have effective decision-making skills, a diplomatic and confidential approach and the ability to prioritise a busy workload

As you'll need to travel in this role, having a car and full driving licence is essential.

This role is part of the newly established Kent & Medway service, Mental Health Together (MHT) for which Porchlight is one of the strategic partners; this is the transformed multi-agency offer, which brings all the services and agencies that support people with varying mental health needs much closer together. This ensures that people get the right care, without having to navigate service boundaries and without repeatedly telling their story.

As part of one team of professionals from across different organisations that make up Mental Health Together, you will value partnership and collaboration, recognising the different skills and understanding that each person brings to the team.

This role is perfect for individuals with significant experience of working within a community mental health and or wellbeing setting, working with individuals with complex mental health needs to help them achieve their goals. As well as understanding how mental health systems work, you will have good insight into local services and support, and how social factors can affect mental health.

Foundation is looking for a Development Manager to support fundraising and stakeholder management. The Development Manager will play a vital role in helping the Chineke! Foundation fulfil its potential as Europe’s first majority-Black and ethnically diverse professional orchestra.

The Development Manager will be responsible for fundraising from a range of sources, including corporate partners, trusts & foundations, major donors, and individuals. Reporting to Chineke!’s Development Director, Gurvinder Bans, the Development Manager will play a key role in securing funding for projects including concerts and tours by the Chineke! Orchestra and Chineke! Junior Orchestra, and our Learning & Participation programme. We are looking for an additional support worker with lived experience of self-harm to join our existing team working with people who have attended A&E for self-harm treatment. This role has been developed specifically for people who have lived experience of self-harm. Self-harm can take many forms but for the purposes of this role we mean things which someone has done to themselves with the clear intention of causing harm.

This role is not about sharing personal stories of self-harm, but some exploration of your experiences will be part of the interview and training process. All questions will be provided in advance of the interview and training will be run in a small, closed group. Both the interviews and training will be facilitated by people who have used their self-harm experiences in their working lives.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Support the day to day running of the Lived Experience Service by:

• Offering tailored follow up support to people of all communities and genders who have attended A&E for self-harm treatment including face to face or video chat meetings, researching community support and guidance in finding and using self- help resources based on the principles of mutual experience, empathy and holistic support;
• Where appropriate sharing ideas about ways of achieving goals, drawing on personal experiences and assisting people to decide what they want to achieve based on their circumstances and personal resources;
• Administrative tasks including researching and updating service resources and maintaining accurate client records in line with organisational confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding policies.
• Supporting their own wellbeing by engaging in regular supervision and appropriate training

2. Contribute to the overall running of the organisation through:

• Attending team meetings
• Supporting the development and/or running of organisational resources, events and campaigns relevant to their role
• Having an awareness of the aims of the organisation and adhering to Safeguarding procedures at all times

Manage all finance systems and processes including payroll, pensions, and insurance.

Work with and provide support to the Board of Trustees, CEO and the Senior Management Team as well as support the needs of the office across the organisation.

Duties:

• Financial Records Maintenance:

- Responsible for the update of the chart of accounts and reporting tools to maximise reporting functionality.

- Ensure accurate maintenance of financial records on SAGE for the charity.

•  Support the Senior Management Team and wider managers in the production of budgets.

•  Provide timely financial information to managers for effective budget management.

• Ensure monthly management accounts accurately track restricted and unrestricted income, expenditure, and reserves.

• Monthly Reporting and Budgeting:

- Produce monthly management accounts and reconciliations - (including the Balance Sheet and Cash Statement).

- Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets (including cash flow).

- Assist in the formulation and implementation of financial policies, procedures and controls.

• Financial administration, banking and payments:

- Manage payroll administration, pension postings, and HMRC payments.

- Process monthly payment runs.

- Monitor and review aged debtors and creditors with the relevant colleagues.

- Work with the fundraising team to oversee Gift Aid claims.

- Manage VAT input and reporting if required.

- Maintain and manage schedules for depreciation, prepayments, accruals & deferred income – posting monthly and quarterly journals as required.

- Administer the Fixed Assets register.

• Year-End Reporting:

- Responsible for year-end reporting and processes.

- Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory accounts to the Independent Auditor, Companies House, and Charity Commission.

• Governance and strategic finance:

- Produce quarterly reports for the Board and other financial statements in liaison with the Chair, Treasurer and CEO.

As the Grants and Information Officer, you would be playing a vital role as part of the team in processing applications and requests for support from receipt to award, attending committee meetings and assisting in the general operations of the charity. 

Position: Grants and Information Officer

Responsible to: CEO

Hours: Part-time - 21 hours per week (Flexible working and hybrid working considered with at least one day per week in the office required)

Salary: £28,000 - £31,500 FTE

What you'll be working on: 

Casework

•         You will undertake case work and processing of applications, from performing initial checks and           review to presentation to Case and Education Committees.
•         You will liaise with beneficiaries and maintain appropriate records.
•         You'll write agendas and minutes for committees.
•         You'll advise and refer applicants to alternative sources of support when applicable.

Finance

•         You'll administer grants and gifts to agreed levels.
•         You will organise payments to beneficiaries and service providers.
•         You will support the audit process.

Grants Management System/Benefactor

•         You'll maintain and update grant management system.
•         You'll review content and create reports, as necessary.

In-house resources/General Admin

•         You will help update and produce in-house resources for approval by CEO and/or Executive                  Committee. These include application forms and guidance notes, annual review and reports,                 standard letters to beneficiaries, contact lists etc.
•         You'll update website pages, with other members of staff team
•         You will maintain and update standard operating procedures for processing applications.
•         You will provide general office administration including replenishing office supplies.

Any other duties

•         You will service and attend AGM and other meetings of PAG, as required.
•         You'll represent PAG with other organisations, as required.
•         You will undertake any other duties required by the CEO, Executive Committee and Committee           of Management.
•         You will assist the CEO in developing a fundraising strategy and policy. 

This job is for you if you...

• Are educated to degree level

• Are proficient in MS Office

• Have experience of developing and updating IT applications, especially databases and websites

• Have experience in fundraising applications

• Have experience of the charity sector/benevolent funds/welfare services

• Have proven knowledge and experience of the statutory benefit system 

• Have knowledge of Xero/ Dext accountancy package

• Have good planning and organisational skills – and can use initiative to manage and prioritise demanding workload

• Have a flexible approach to tasks in a small team environment (3 staff in total)

• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

• Are a strong team player able to work effectively with diverse groups and individual

• Have the ability to identify and resolve problems

• Have empathy with organisational objectives and values

The Role

You’ll be part of our Financial Inclusion team, looking holistically at customers and their household circumstances and finding innovative ways to support them to make sustained changes. You’ll be working with partners, building new relationships both internally and externally, with an overall aim to aid our customers to become financially resilient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and enhancing financial inclusion initiatives, with a primary focus on energy-related projects
• Collaborating with customer support teams to ensure impactful delivery of financial inclusion offers
• Supporting operational activities of Financial Inclusion programs across SNG communities
• Working closely with the Financial and Digital Inclusion Manager to identify new delivery partners and continue to develop financial inclusion offers for sustained positive customer impact
• Reporting and analysing on program impacts to evaluate value for money and guide future planning

Previous experience in a similar role, with an understanding of financial inclusion challenges and its impacts would be beneficial but isn’t essential. You will need:

• A proactive, creative, and innovative approach to your work and problem-solving 
• A customer-centric mindset, ensuring customer needs are at the forefront
• Proven stakeholder management experience with the ability to engage colleagues and external partners effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in data processing and analysis, particularly with high-volume datasets
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Outlook
